With the first round of the 2007 NHL Playoffs coming to a close the dog is a hurting unit. Only 1 underdog in the last 10 games came through and only 2 out of the 8 series saw the dog victorious and given that the Rangers and Sharks were only considered the underdog based on standings and home ice advantage the payoff was slim. 3 Dogs Left in 1st Round

The 1st round of the 2007 playoffs has not yielded the Oilers of last year or Flames of the previous playoffs...yet. The Flames and the Bolts still have a chance to come out on top of the favoured Red Wings and Devils, but it just doesn't seem like its going to happen this year. When the extreme favourite's need to put the underdog away they have gotten the job done. Buffalo taking out the Isles, Anaheim taking out Minny and Ottawa taking out the Pens cases in point. The Calgary Flames bounced back at home in Game 3 after being out shot 46-20 in Game 1 and 51-15 in Game 2 in Detroit.
