Wenger outlines transfer plans - how about Diego and Metzelder?
2008-05-08 09:52:00 Those of you who read yesterday’s post will know that I commented that Inter Milan are in an advantageous position to steal Alex Hleb from Arsenal due to the fact that they can very easily buy out the final two years of the Belarussian’s contract via the ‘Webster clause’. According to Arsene Wenger , however, it seems ... More About: News , Plans , Transfer , Diego
From a nobody to a somebody to a nobody? Exit time for Arsenal?s ice-cream
2008-05-07 10:13:00 Things are starting to get a little wobbly. The official announcement of Mathieu Flamini’s departure to AC Milan has been followed by the growing rumours that Alexander Hleb is set to follow him out the door to sign for Milan’s bitter rivals Inter. Although there have been no concrete evidence of a move being made for ... More About: News , Arsenal , Ice Cream , Time , Cream
Flamini?s Milan move leaves Wenger with a real challenge to replace him
2008-05-06 09:19:00 It’s official: Mathieu Flamini is an Arsenal player no more. It was revealed earlier today that the Frenchman has passed his medical and signed a four-year deal with AC Milan worth around ?5.6million per year. The Italians are of course able to pay Flamini such an extensive amount due to the fact that the Frenchman’s contract with Arsenal ... More About: News , Challenge , Real , Move
Crazy Jens says goodbye - Flamini set to go - Makoun to replace him?
2008-05-05 13:49:00 It was never going to be a classic game given the dead-rubber nature of the contest from an Arsenal perspective but there were enough nice moments to give the home fans a decent show in the final game of the season at Emirates Stadium. For those who missed it, Nicklas Bendtner scored the only goal of ... More About: Crazy , Goodbye , Jens

If one wins the double the other wins exactly as much as Arsenal
2008-05-01 09:42:00 So there you have it. Not only will Manchester United or Chelsea be winning the English Premiership this season but one of them will be winning the Champions League as well. One word comes to mind: ‘greedy’. Seriously though, it’s incredible how close either side are to achieving the coveted League-Champions League double given how difficult ... My final plea to Flamini + Dimitrov to sign?
2008-04-30 09:45:00 Six goals scored, two conceded and all-in-all it was a stroll in Pride Park for the Arsenal boys against Derby. So much of a stroll that I can’t really be bothered talking about it, so I won’t. What I will talk about is how wonderful it is for the club to still be in with a chance of ... I have to say it feels good to be back. Somewhat surprisingly ... More About: News , Arsenal , Players , Team

Arsenal v Liverpool III: Incredible ecstacy followed by immense disappointm
2008-04-09 13:01:00 The history books will say that on the 8th of April, 2008 Liverpool beat Arsenal 4-2 at Anfield to win a two-legged Champions League quarter-final affair 5-3 on aggregate. However, the scoreline does not reflect just how close Arsenal were to going through themselves on an unbelievably exciting night of football. The key moments came during the ... The last hurrah or a step towards greatness for this Arsenal side? We’ll
2008-04-08 14:42:00 Today’s Champions League game against Liverpool at Anfield is the be all and end all for Arsenal ’s season as far as I’m concerned. Should they succeed then Arsene Wenger’s side will be just three games away from being crowned Champions of Europe, should they fail then the season is finally over and the silverware cabinet will be empty for the fourth season running. The players must realise this and respond accordingly. It’s clear that there have been some tired legs running around on the pitch of late and guys like Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini have been worked well beyond their call of duty. But if the boys are too avoid the possibility of ending the season without a trophy then they are going to have to ignore the aches and pains in their bodies and give it absolutely everything against Liverpool tonight. Tactics will play their part for sure, but the single most important factor in determining whether or not Arsenal succeed tonight will be the... More About: Side , Step
Arsenal boys must give it absolutely everything on Tuesday night
2008-04-07 12:24:00 After the weekend just gone it feels a bit funny to be blogging today. As I said yesterday after the draw with Liverpool, the Premiership is now gone for Arsenal - a reality made worse by the fact that Manchester United dropped points for the first time in a number of games last night against Middlesbrough. Had Arsenal found a winning goal on Saturday then Arsene Wenger’s side would be just four points off the top and right back in it, so it’s all a little frustrating at the moment. But while I have 99.99% given up on Arsenal chances of winning the league it’s fairly unsurprising to hear that the manager has not. Speaking in the post-match interview after the Liverpool game, Wenger was clearly frustrated by his side’s inability to get the three points but also stressed that he will not be giving up until winning becomes a mathematical impossibility. “It depends on the results of the other teams. In my brain it’s not over because mathematical... More About: Night , Give , Tuesday , Boys
Arsenal v Liverpool II: Title dream finally over
2008-04-06 03:00:00 Arsenal again outplayed Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium but were, for the third time this season, held to a 1-1 draw by Rafa Benitez’s side. But for a miracle of epic proportions, I feel safe in saying that Arsenal’s dreams of winning the Premiership this season are now over. Despite trailing to Peter Crouch’s well-taken goal at ... Arsenal v Liverpool I: Referee blindness, Bendtner?s leg deny Arsenal a des
2008-04-03 11:21:00 It can be a frustrating process watching Arsenal play and last night’s game was certainly that. Despite dominating possession and making enough clear-cut chances to win the match, Arsene Wenger’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie. The home side dominated the early exchanges and were rewarded ... More About: Blindness , Referee , Bendtner
A win would be nice but not conceding would be better - Walcott, Eboue or D
2008-04-02 13:12:00 The focus today is of course the Champions League first-leg tie between Arsenal and Liverpool to be played at Emirates Stadium later tonight. It is the first time these two English clubs have played each other in European competition and while recent Chelsea-Liverpool matches in the Champions League have been woeful, I can hardly see ... Hailing Gallas, van Persie and Hleb - disappointed with Diaby
2008-04-01 07:07:00 Well, it’s Tuesday afternoon here in Brisbane and I just saw the highlights from Arsenal’s weekend win over Bolton for the first time. Yes, yes, I know; for a person who blogs about Arsenal on a daily basis that’s a pretty poor effort but as I said yesterday, I’ve been rather busy over the past few days so ... More About: Gallas
Bolton 2-3 Arsenal: Get that into ya!
2008-03-30 14:06:00 It was amazing performance by Arsenal yesterday afternoon to fight back from two goals and a man down to beat Bolton 3-2. I haven’t seen anything quite like that during the time I have supported the club and I’m feeling rather proud just at this moment in time. I hope you are too. Unfortunately I’ve been a ...
