Teahupoo - Heaviest Wave in the World
2007-11-18 01:36:00 Tahiti's Teahupoo (pronounced cho-pu) is essentially a glorified closeout - a hideous, deadly barrel promising a heap of trouble for even the most capable of surfers. In recent years, professional contests and high-profile tow-ins have bombarded us with images of her seemingly flawless barrels, but no other surf spot extracts a higher toll than Teahupoo, the heaviest wave in the world. Laird Hamilton Giant Surf
2007-06-28 00:22:00 God Damn, it's Lair d Hamilton , he is my hero!! Laird Hamilton is known as the guiding genius of crossover board sports, and he is truly amazing in the water. His size - six-foot-three, 215 pounds - makes him seem indestructible. 'Laird is the elder son of 60's surfing legend Bill Hamilton, and is a throw back to that time when surfers prided themselves on being all-around waterman. Surf Feeling
2007-06-25 00:36:00 Surfers say they feel it?s the only place to be. Giant Swell at Jaws Maui
2007-06-22 00:15:00 Extreme surf video where two surfers are riding a giant wave in Jaws - Maui - Hawaii. When the waves are going off here there's always lots of helicopters in the air. One of the surfers almost touch one of them when he flies out the back off the wave, but i think he's most likely a 100 yards or more away. And yes, he's attached with foot straps on tow-in boards.
