Rooney clear for England link-up

Manchester United have cleared striker Wayne Rooney to join up with the England squad ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Spain at Old Trafford.The 21-year-old was a doubt after he limped off during United's 4-0 victory at Tottenham on Sunday.But United have given Rooney the green light to meet up with the rest of the squad in Manchester on Monday.England's medics will assess Rooney and the Football Association will take a final decision on his fitness.Source: BBCi

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney admitted that he is frustrated by his recent poor form.Rooney, 20, was well below his best as United suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Arsenal on Sunday and was substituted during the second half. The England star, who has only just returned from a three-match suspension, had also struggled in the midweek Champions League win over Celtic.
