Blogging Break For LiverpoolAccess.com
2008-03-09 19:14:00 There’s going to be a blogging break for LiverpoolAccess.com. Given commitments elsewhere throughout the week and weekend I’m finding it hard to make time for the sports blogging so I’m putting Liverpool Access on hiatus for a few weeks. We’ve had a good run of results against West Ham and Newcastle and this week and hopefully ... All Smiles As Liverpool Beat Inter
2008-02-19 23:13:00 From a disasterous weekend in the FA Cup to a brilliant European night at Anfield, Liverpool have managed to turn things around again and have beaten Inter Milan tonight 2-0. Funny enough… two of us were chatting in the car earlier about the match tonight, giving the forecast. Pre-game I had figured it would be either ... Stalemate At Stamford Bridge As Liverpool Draw
2008-02-10 18:59:00 Liverpool walk away from Stamford Bridge this evening with a point, pushing us back into 5th in the table, but the lads should be kicking themselves for not taking all three points. The fact is, Liverpool were the better side today. Chelsea know it. The Chelsea fans know it. The Liverpool fans know it and, but for for lack of finishing, it could have been 1-0 or 2-0 to Liverpool. Chances were plentiful for Peter Crouch in the first half but he couldn’t make anything of them. Try and all as they did in the first half and second half, Liverpool couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. More annoyingly so, the side looked good in defence as well, shutting down Chelsea at every opportunity, Pepe Reina remaining relatively untroubled throughout the game. Lucas looked well in the middle of the park alongside Mascherano and Rafa’s pairing of Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher in the the centre of defence continues to bloom with Skrtel passing each test shown to him tod... Live: Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool (64 mins)
2008-02-10 18:24:00 64 minutes or so gone in today’s game and still no score. John Arne Riise has been booked in the last few minutes and Avram Grant has brought on Florent Malouda, Joe Cole switching out to the right. It also looks like Jermaine Pennant could be introduced for Live rpool . ShareThis More About: Chelsea
Live: Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool (Half Time)
2008-02-10 17:55:00 It’s gone half time at Stamford Bridge and the scoreline will tell you the two sides are still deadlocked. Peter Crouch has had an absolute string of chances but has failed to convert any of them so far. With the absence of Torres and Voronin, he’s going to need to up his game in the second half or work on providing more opportunities for the likes of Babel and Kuyt and Chelsea plot against Crouch for the second half. Overall, Live rpool have been the stronger side in the first half, just about, but you can’t write off Chelsea by any means. They have been a bit less aggressive that you’d expect, both Joe Cole and Frank Lampard keeping an eye on their challenges as a booking for either writes them out of the League Cup Final. Defensively, Liverpool have done well in shutting down the Chelsea attack but going forward I’d still like to see Kuyt coming out of that right position more and having a crack up front, seal up that goal drought of his. Live: Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool (22 mins)
2008-02-10 17:26:00 Reaching the halfway mark at Stamford Bridge and it’s still level pegging. Peter Crouch has had one or two good chances land his way but couldn’t make anything of them so far. Juliano Belletti is already on a yellow card for Chelsea , three minutes in for intentional hand ball but for the moment anyway, Live rpool looking steady. ShareThis

On the bench are Itandje, San Jose, Benayoun, Pennant, Kewell. Ex-Red Nic Anelka starts up front for Chelsea and he’ll need containing, along with the pain in Liverpool’s side that is Joe Cole. No Torres For Chelsea
2008-02-07 17:32:00 Fernando Torres has been ruled out of the Chelsea clash this weekend after picking up a hamstring injury in action against France last night. No doubt we’re going to hear more on the debate of injuries to high-profile players while on friendly duty for their respective nations. Torres had asked Luis Arragones during the French clash to ... Gerrard Named England Skipper
2008-02-05 13:50:00 Could this be a sign of things to come for the Liverpool captain? Fabio Capello has announced Steven Gerrard as England skipper for this week’s England friendly against Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland. You think Capello would have named John Terry as captain if Terry was available, continuing on from Steve McClaren’s choice? Hopefully it is a sign ... Skrtel Named Player Of The Year
2008-02-05 10:36:00 Martin Skrtel may have just signed for Liverpool but our record defensive signing has just been named Slovakia’s Player Of The Year for 2007. Skrtel finished runner up in the same award in 2006 but his input to the Russian premier league winning side at Zenit St. Petersburg has placed him at the top of the ... Back To Winning Ways
2008-02-03 12:31:00 As much as I hate to see Sunderland lose under Roy Keane, I’m delighted that Liverpool stuffed three goals past them yesterday. Anything less than a win would have been a disaster. But patience, and perseverance paid off with Liverpool taking the win yesterday thanks to goals from Peter Crouch, Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard. It took until ... 2008-01-31 17:32:00 Jari Litmanen is back in the Premier League , and he’s playing for Fulham. The Cottagers snapped up Litmanen today on the final day of the 2007-2008 transfer window with Roy Hodgson taking Litmanen on a short-term contract until the end of the season. 2008-01-31 01:15:00 Games like this aren’t supposed to happen. Bye, Bye, Bye - Sissoko
2008-01-29 19:53:00 I wish him all the best but Momo Sissoko isn’t a player I’m going to miss at Liverpool He arrived in a torrent of praise at Anfield, played well for the club when he had the chance but he’s nowhere near the level of Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano. Live: Livepool 5 - 2 Havant (Crouch, 90)
2008-01-26 17:53:00 Peter Crouch grabs his first of the game, Live rpool’s fifth, and his seventh of the season, Stevie G helping out in the process as Liverpool wrap up the job at Anfield. Live: Liverpool 4 - 2 Havant (Benayoun, 59)
2008-01-26 17:21:00 Yossi Benayoun strikes again… didn’t take long for that did it? Benayoun bags his third of the game and now tenth of the season and the flood gates have opened at Anfield. 2008-01-26 17:17:00 Yossi Benayoun strikes again, Jermaine setting up Benayoun for his second of the game, the ball coming in off the crossbar. Another Benayoun hat trick on the cards? Finnan Announces International Retirement
2008-01-23 09:44:00 At 31 years old, Steve Finnan has announced he is to retire from the Irish national scene.
