Where Advertisers and Bloggers Meet
2009-10-19 18:07:00
Blogging for me started as a leisure pursuit and it has now become one of the ways of earning, creative activity and social hangout. I started my first blog sometime ago as a showcase of my published work. Falling prey to the hype around generating additional income online, I started like writing reviews about products and services I like. This quest brought me to BuyBlogReviews.com ? service that brings advertisers and bloggers together. BuyBlogReviews.com has a nice set up. Explore BuyBlogReviews.com and see what they are offering and how. Their pay structure is simple. The blogger will get 70% of the advertiser paid fee per posting. BuyBlogReviews will take the other 30% as their fee. Bloggers are free to make as much as they can, and get 70% of the total posting offer from the advertisers. Bloggers are paid on the 1st and 15th of every month, for previous work. They have a marketplace on bidding format. Whoever takes the job first, gets it. On your blog, must you disclose that y...
Only 14 Out Of 50 Top Internet Advertisers Present In India. Is That The Ca
2009-09-16 07:01:00
How big does a market grow before the best in the industry set sail? As a matter of fact, the best in the industry set sail not based on how big a market has grown, but how big a market can grow. In that regard, India is among the front runners and little wonder that so many MNCs have set their eyes on the Indian market. But apparently, the top Internet advertisers are yet to follow suit. In a recent study conducted by TNS Media Intelligence, only 14 of the 50 biggest internet advertisers in the world have their operations in India; either directly or through partnerships. Big names that are still not present here include Scottrade, TD Ameritrade Brokerage, Sprint, E-Trade, Nascar and Netflix. What could be the reason behind this? The abysmal internet infrastructure has been raked in time and again, but in this case, that is surely not the reason. That is because while India could have a meager 6-7 percent internet penetration, in terms of volumes, it is still among the highest in ...

An official press release has been sent stating a 10 year deal between Yahoo and Microsoft’s hottest new search kid Bing. We had stated in an earlier post that this deal was imminent and so it has been. We have covered Bing and the waves it has been making the world over. Here are the main points of the deal: The term of the agreement is 10 years Microsoft will acquire an exclusive 10 year license to Yahoo!’s core search technologies, and will have the right to integrate yahoo search technologies into their existing web platforms Microsoft’s Bing will be the exclusive algorithmic search and paid search platform for Yahoo! sites. Facebook Claims Advertisers Have Tripled Over the Last Year - Claims of Cli
2009-06-22 19:15:00
At a time when most publishers are reporting dwindling sales and revenues Facebook is showing numbers that might put a whole new spin on online advertising as an industry. Facebook Inc. said the number of customers using its automated online-advertising system more than tripled in the past year, according to Bloomberg. The advertising system in question is “Engagement Ads” by Facebook. For those who don’t know, the ad system  basically lets companies make small edits to their ads during campaigns and suggests words for advertisers to target users. These are the same ads that come on profile pages and fan pages on Facebook. These are mostly used by brands to generate fans on Facebook for their fan pages. In the meanwhile, Techcrunch reported that Facebook has accepted claims of Click Fraud on its network.  It yesterday reported the piece of news which claimed advertisers are facing a high volume of click frauds - A big part of that revenue comes from cost-per-clic...

Google Woos Advertisers To Advertise On Orkut - Launches Solutions For Larg
2009-06-10 07:55:00
Google has invited advertisers to advertise on Orkut via its blog and also announced a dedicated page for advertisers to know why to advertise one orkut. The only two dedicated pages of geographies for advertising are Brazil and India and there is a generic page for the rest of the world. This shows that India is among the top two advertising markets for orkut and given the growth in digital advertising it probably is the no.1 market. Also the recent launch of a mobile downloadable app for most java phones also points at the growing importance of Indian users and the need to serve the next generation of users whose first access point could very well be the mobile. Here are the statistics disclosed by orkut regarding its Indian userbase for advertisers: 13 million active Indians 5 billion page views from India Average user visits site 10 times a month and spends 13 minutes per visit Over 53% of the audience is under 25 years of age while 31% is between the age group of 25 -34 years ...

Yureekah: Competitive Intelligence for Online Brand Advertisers
2008-05-10 21:08:00
Currently in private alpha Yureekah has launched a free competitive intelligence tool that allows media planners to figure out where is competition advertising on the internet and allow them to plan their campaigns to counter them. For example this search of Chevrolet in the picture confirmed me that Chevrolet is advertising on Yahoo India however I have only an hour ago seen the Chevrolet ad on Rediff also which this tool missed which shows that Yureekah still needs to be ironed out.The site is limited to 4 countries India,USA,UAE,UK and only for display advertising which is the domain of big brand advertising and doesn't support contextual advertising. Yureekah is targeted at advertisers, media agencies, and small and medium sized business owners. The Monetization of Yureekah is to be done in future with the launch of more in depth services maybe.Devaraj Southworth, one of the creators of Yureekah said the idea stemmed from his own company's needs. We’re Ready for Real Advertisers
2008-05-01 03:58:00
Epic Edits has shown ads for a loooong long time now — mostly AdSense, Chitika, and some affiliate programs. Those things were fine for the early days, but it’s time for the site to grow up a little. From here out, I’ll be working on bringing in real advertisers. What you see now are affiliate programs and house ads for my photoblog (plus a tiny bit of AdSense to fill in the gaps). Over the last month, I’ve been busy getting setup with my own ad server, creating email accounts, adjusting the settings in my PayPal account, writing an “Advertise Here” page, getting rid of AdSense, and looking for advertisers to contact. One of these days, I’ll actually find someone who’s interested in putting a banner up. WHAT WILL CHANGE? photo credit: Stuck in Customs Nothing much, other than the fact that you’ll see some new and different banners on the site every once in a while. I won’t be placing any additional ads above or inside...

How Advertisers Shoot Themselves In Their Collective Feet
2008-04-23 14:43:00
The biggest challenge for advertisers today is to get people to watch their commercials. With all the technology and alternatives to watching commercials on TV I would think that advertisers would do everything humanly possible to eliminate any elements that would immediately trigger a viewer to fast forward to change the channel. Is this not commen senese ?If it is, then why in the world do advertisers JACK UP THE VOLUME OF THEIR COMMERCIALS ? This annoying "feature" is more pronounced in home theater and surround sound based systems. I can't think of anything that pisses me off more than to be watching a TV show and to all of the sudden be blasted by a commercial from all sides of the room. Its the ultimate command to change the channel or fast forward.SO WHY ARE ADVERTISERS SO STUPID ? Turn down the sound, maybe people will lean forward and listen !Source: BlogMaverick

Advertisers turn to bleeps to attract viewers
2008-04-10 06:24:00
By Stuart ElliottApril 10, International Herald TribuneIn cartoons, the Road Runner goes "beep-beep." In the advertising world, the popular onomatopoeia is pronounced "bleep-bleep."Advertisers are winking at the contentious issue of content regulation by using bleeping sounds in commercials and video clips. The bleeps mimic how television and radio obscure bad language in live news coverage or taped reality shows. Many times, the bleeps heard in commercials are covering actual expletives, which are written into the scripts solely to be censored. For instance, in a commercial for the New York Film Academy, a crude word spoken by Brett Ratner, who is the filmmaker, is bleeped."We were playing poker and he lost and I said, 'Instead of giving me money, why not do a commercial for me?' " said Jerry Sherlock, director of the academy. "So we made it into a whole joke."In a video clip for Bud Light, titled "Swear Jar," that appears on the bud.tv Web site and sites like YouTube, cast members...

How to Find Advertisers for Your Website: The Ultimate Guide
2008-04-06 15:02:00
Direct advertising sales is arguably the best method to monetize a website. Finding advertisers for your site and actually closing the deals, however, is not as straight forward. Over the past 6 months I had more than 10 high profile companies sponsoring Daily Blog Tips, and through out this article I will share what I have learned along the way.The Pros More money: The first advantage of selling your own ads is the fact that you will cut the middlemen out, increasing your revenue potential. Suppose you sell text link ads on your sidebar through a certain company, and the text links sell for $50 monthly. Since you are using the company network to sell the ads, they will eat 50% of the price, and you will end up earning only $25 monthly for each text link. If someone is willing to pay $50 for a text link on your site, though, it means that they are getting $50 of value out of it. Why, then, should you share that with someone else?Independence: Sure, large advertising networks have ac...

A Lesson For all Local Advertisers
2008-03-23 10:21:00
Most individuals in the advertising industry in Sri Lanka complain that brand managers don't allow for creative campaigns. Most good brand managers complain that their agencies can't come up with good, creative campaigns. So how do we find the balance between the two? As in most cases in this country the wrong people have the wrong job. The talented are slaving their asses off doing something else because someone somewhere didn't allow them to get in to what they should be doing. Tough shit. I just saw this commercial while watching the Malaysian Grand Prix; actually a slightly different version. Now isn't that a great example of what creative advertising can be? Excellent positioning, while retaining the status of the brand. And the creative aspect is through the roof don't you think? Good example for our guys huh?
