TB Rewind on RD: AT&T vs GoPhone Smartphone users, American Chopper PJD Mus
2012-04-06 23:39:00 It's been a while since I have posted on RaceDriven.com. However I wanted to another edition of TB Rewind on RD today. Is if you haven't been over to my new blogstream ThinkingBrian.c-om, here is a sample of what I have been talking about, commenting on and sharing on TB. 1. AT&T forces GoPhone Smartphone users to switch to monthly plans or lose data ? I feel cheated and I want my $100 for my Smartphone back. If you're an AT&T GoPhone Smartphone user, then you know that in less than one year, AT&T has changed the terms of using a Smartphone on a non-monthly plan with data. Personally I think this terrible considering it was only last November when I bought a GoPhone branded Android Smartphone because of this plan. And now I will have no 3G data period. 2. American Chopper: Sr vs Jr: Paul Jr Designs unveils Chevrolet Camaro at the 2012 Daytona Bike Week. This one was interesting, in a special American Chopper Sr vs Jr, PJD takes a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro an...
The VW dog and Best Buy commercials are my winners for best 2012 Superbowl
2012-02-06 02:25:00 Earlier this week, I posted two Superbowl game day commercials. The first one was "The Dog Strikes Back: VW Commercial", which was a preview to the big game and the other one was the 2011 Superbowl commercial winner, "The Force: VW Commercial". Well after watching all of the game day commercials, I liked two of them the best: 1. "The Dog Strikes Back: VW Commercial" This commercial is funny to watch, but its also could be inspiring for some people to get up off the couch (including me) and exercise and diet, get fit and run for our dreams. Yeah I know, a little much, but its still funny and it works for me. 2. "Phone Innovators: Official 2012 Best Buy Game Day Commercial" I liked the Best Buy commercial from the poking fun at Airlines vs. Alex Baldwin over Words with Friends, I invented instagram and more. Of course that is a little surprising to- me considering my feelings on Best Buy aren't all that good and I'm putting it loosely. I've just had a...

2012-02-02 22:04:00 Earlier today I thought I would have a little bit of fun ahead of game day this coming Sunday, I published the latest Volkswagen Commercial, "The Dog Strikes Back in latest 2012 Volkswagen Game Day Commercial...but what's with the bar scene?". However I wonder after last years Volkswagen hit commercial called "The Force" (posted below) that was really cute and the best one, can anyone beat that commercial during the 2012 game day? The Force: Volkswagen Commercial By the way advertisers, not all commercials have to be terrible, take a hit, the above VW "The force" commercial is funny to watch and might sell cars.

2012-02-02 21:51:00 A pretty funny Volkswagen commercial with the dog getting fit, but the extension with the bar scene has a lot to be desired. Frankly, VW should have just stayed with the normal version of the dog getting fit to chase the more slimmer VW down the street. By the way, Go New England Patriots.

2012-01-22 03:52:00 Its Saturday night and here I am still watching the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction live on SPEED which is in Scottsdale, AZ. In watching this collector car auction like I do every year for the last several years, there is always those few special vehicles that have caught my attention and on this Saturday night, there were three collector cars that were jaw droppers to say the least. (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official Website) 1. One top seller, a 1948 Tucker Torpedo from the 5000 series collection that hammered away for $2,260,000. What a work of art. (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official Website) 2. 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing (one of 146 in 1954) with 4,149 Original Miles, a rare car and it crossed the block and sold for $2 Million Dollars and in my opinion, it was well worth it. This car to me is considered priceless. It is the ride. (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official Website) 3. A 1969 Dodge Charger (General Lee #1) sold for $110K. Con...

2012-01-22 03:49:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official Website) One of the collector cars that crossed the auction block earlier tonight at the Barrett-Jackson really caught my attention was a barn find or garage find in this case, a 1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback that sat in a garage for over three decades undriven. In my opinion, this Shelby is a classic, its original and you just don't find a classic car like this anymore. But it also begs the question, what would you do with this 1965 Shelby GT350? Well I thought about that and personally I thought that $200,000 would be well worth it, but I have to say that I was shocked to see that a bidder paid $350k for this ride. As for what I would do with the ride, well an option would of course be to have a full restoration done to it, but actually I would take this Shelby and just have it repainted white with blue strips like it was when it was in the showrooms, how some maintenance done-, register it and drive it to car shows and Sunday driv...

2012-01-21 21:55:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson.com Official Website) So some of my readers may be asking, why would he write about this collector car, a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe Custom that went across the block and sold for $82k on a Saturday afternoon? Well that's easy, as a car enthusiast, I have a list of collector cars including custom ride that I would love to own one day before I died and this particular collector car is on my wish list. Yes, someday I would love to own a 1940 Ford Coupe. However there is one more part to this story. Back in January 2009 at the World of Wheels in Boston, Massachusetts, I stood in line for 6 hours to get Chip Foose's autography. I received a picture with Chip, an autographed discast that I bought just a few hours before and a signed sketch that he did in front of me of what looks to be a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. The signed sketch was incredible, but the experience of meeting Chip Foose was perfect. He ended up signing autographs for over 6.5 hours ...

2012-01-21 03:16:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official Website) My jaw just dropped with after that 1962 Chevy Corvette custom crossed the block and sold for $325k and its only Friday night. What a buy, you can't get no better than that pure custom. But I bet they will. And here I though nothing would get this crowds attention other than charity cars when it comes to high dollar bids.

2012-01-20 23:08:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson Official website) Moments ago at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, this (pictured above) 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with a serial #00001 and 3600 miles on it (list price for $121k), crossed the auction block and sold for $185k. Damn, this will be a collectors dream in years to come, hell its my dream now. Now this is Corvette is a supercar that I would drive regularly and I would pick this Corvette over a Ferrari any day.

2012-01-20 05:50:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson.com Official website) So some of my readers may be asking, why would he write about this muscle car, a 1987 Buick GNX with 25k original miles that went across the block and sold for $66k on a Thursday night? Well that's easy, as a car enthusiast, I have a list of collector cars including muscle cars that I would love to own one day before I died and this particular muscle car is high on my wish list. Yes, someday I would love to own a 1987 Buick GNX or more so the Grand National. My father showed me one of these at a car show several years ago and I love it. What is better than all black, fast muscle car that could be used as a daily driver if desired. But I do have to say, as much as I would want to keep it stock, part of me would actually have the car upgraded to a turbo-charged diesel engine or even a hydrogen powered car after several years of driving it and create one hell of a ride that looks stock on the outside and interior, but un...

2012-01-20 02:12:00 (Photo Credit: Barrett-Jackson.com official website) Welcome readers, its January and that can only mean one thing for us car enthusiasts, its time for the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, AZ. And while I'm not going to be their, I do have a great seat for the action, right in front of my television set and I'm tuned in to SPEED Channel. One auction vehicle that rolled across the auction block that got my attention earlier tonight was Brad Keselowski's Talladega 2010 winning racecar from Penske Racing that hammered away for $250k, plus an additional $350k from 2 other people being donated to the charity with ALL PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT PARALYZED VETERANS OF AMERICA. I do love it when NASCAR invades the Barrett-Jackson especially with racecars being auctioned off for charity.

2012-01-08 00:50:00 (Photo Credit: Autoblog.com via Andrew H. Walker / Getty) Interesting, I just read (over at Autoblog.com under report) that SPEED Channel might be cancelling the Car Show with Adam Carolla. I watched The Car Show on SPEED and while it was a little weird and it reminded me of Top Gear, it wasn't that bad. But what really caught my attention was that Adam Carolla, Michael Andretti, American Choppers own villain Paul Teutel Sr. among others will be on the upcoming season of NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice. I will say that I've been watching both The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice for years now especially with John Rich and Trace Adkins being on the show and I actually for the most part enjoy the show. But this season, what I'm really looking forward to is hopefully seeing and hearing Donald Trump say those magical words to Paul Sr. "Your Fired!", its so worth it. I like Sr. vs. Jr. American Chopper, but only because Paul Jr Designs is on it.

2011-12-16 00:49:00 Welcome readers, it?s been a long and hard year for me here at RaceDriven.com that has included some ups, downs and even a hiatus breaks. But as 2011 comes to a close in just over 2 weeks from now, here I am running strong on RaceDriven.com with some amazing traffic and discussions. Now I want to take this moment and reflect back on the top 5 best articles of 2011. Of course this year was a little different from past years as I?ve tried and failed (trial and error) to develop two new blogs (one at a time on separate domains), one being on Tumblr and the other being on Posterous with most of the articles written on those blogs being moved here to RaceDriven.com to have a second and in most cases, successful chance (of being read). 1. American Chopper: The Build-Off - Paul Jr. Designs beats out Jesse James and OCC to win Build-Off. While I was disappointed in this Build-Off 3 hour event, at least we got some amazing creations. But its just too bad that none of them can being ri...

Let's take a look 5 of the most frequently asked questions about auto insurance. Read on, because some of the answers may surprise you. Question 1: What can happen if I decide not to purchase car insurance and still drive my car? Answer: Almost all states have very strict laws regarding the responsibility of drivers to purchase car insurance. Interesting Facts About General Motors of Canada
2011-08-24 23:30:00 During the mid 19th century, Robert McLaughlin, a farmer by trade, self taught himself the art of carriage making. His first project was a horse drawn sleigh fashioned from a picture he saw in an old catalog. This guest post was brought to you by Kanetix.ca Get the cheapest auto insurance quotes today. His second project was another sleigh for a neighbor who saw the first sleigh as it was being made. From this humble beginning, McLaughlin learned how to fashion wood, iron and leather to design and make horse drawn wagons and carriages. Carriage making eventually grew into several branches throughout Canada, starting in Oshawa, Ontario, known as The Company. McLaughlin had three sons. John went on to earn a degree in chemistry and founded the Canada Dry Company. The other two sons, Sam and George, became partners in the McLaughlin Carriage Company. After a ride in the horseless carriage of the company bookkeeper, the brothers began pursuing an engine they could mount into a car...

The Most and Least Expensive 2011 Vehicles to Insure.
2011-01-14 00:36:00 As we are only a few weeks into the new year (2011), consumers are already in full swing of the car buying season and in keeping with the buying a new or used car theme, today I wanted to address the insurance part of buying a new car. Now I have to say that while the most expensive cars do appear on this list, keep in mind that the least expensive cars also appear as well and if you use this information for your next car buying experience, you should have a general idea of how much flexibility there could be in your new car insurance bill for that next major purchase. The list also allows us car enthusiasts to dream about buying that amazing dream machine and of course get slapped down a little on the insurance price. The most expensive 2011 vehicles to insure have to start with a Mercedes SL65 AMG roadster that could come in at an annual cost of $3,544 for a clean driver. However as a car guy who does like to think about owning a dream machine, I particularly love #8, the Porsch...
7 tips that can help you buy a new or used car.
2011-01-05 03:27:00 Welcome readers, its the New Year 2011 and for so many consumers all over the world, especially here in the United States, the beginning of December thru the end of January signals the most popular time of the year to buy a new or used vehicle. I really don't know why consumers choose this time of the year to shop for a vehicle, maybe they want to start out the new year with a new or used vehicle or a tax deduction perhaps, but in any case right now is the busiest time of the year to buy a vehicle. So because of that and also considering a family member of mine is doing the very same right now as well, I thought that this would be a good topic of discussion as I share some tips that I have learned over the years, read and am currently learning now that could help consumers along this journey. This post is brought to you by Bankwest. "Snatch up a low rate Bankwest Secured Car Loan and get into your new car, fast"There are several ways of going about this, but typically most cons...

2010-12-22 02:58:00 On last Sunday night?s episode of Top Gear USA, Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust set out to Detroit in a challenge to choose their favorite old GM cars and put them through a series of challenges to decide which one should be brought back into production. Ferrara choose a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Foust choose a 1980?s Pontiac Fiero, and Wood choose a 1990s Buick Roadmaster wagon. The episode had most of the same challenges as Top Gear UK?s Season 10, the £1200 British Leyland cheap-car challenge. Yes that would include a hill handbrake challenge (different grade with a bowling ball), filling the car up with water and driving around the racetrack and more. By the end of the challenge, amazingly enough, Rutledge Wood?s 1990?s Buick Roadmaster wagon had won the challenge and below is a 2011 Buick Roadmaster sketch that the hosts would like to see built. However considering I?m a blogger, a car enthusiast and blogging is about giving your opinion, I feel that a 1990?s B...
Video: Jay Leno picks up his Chevrolet Volt...and yes a Volt is better than
2010-12-22 00:01:00 I saw this video on YouTube of Jay Leno picking up his new Chevrolet Volt in California and I thought that I had to share this with all of my readers and my opinion of the Volt. Personally as I was watching his video, I agree with Jay Leno, electricity is only going to take you halfway, gasoline is going to take you the rest of the way and that's exactly what the Volt does. I particularly like the Chevrolet Volt for the combination of electricity and gasoline, but it needs more improvements such as having the vehicle run in E85 or bio-diesel, now that would be a real green car to me. But of course the fuel of the future in my opinion is hydrogen if the supply is there. But in my opinion, pure electric vehicles aren't the answer to the United States or the worlds oil troubles, however combination vehicles such as the Chevrolet Volt is a good start. As for the Toyota Prius, personally I wouldn't own one. I believe that while Toyota does make several go...
Top Gear USA is a hit, but how does the show compare to Top Gear UK?
2010-12-14 22:45:00 Source: Jalopnik.com Just before Thanksgiving and after an already failed attempt by another network (NBC) and some bad predictions, Top Gear USA debuted on the History Channel to mixed reviewed by many. One of the reasons for the mixed reviews was no one really know what to make of the three hosts Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood and Tanner Foust. This post is brought to you by Sixt.com. "One place to look for car rentals in France is Sixt.com"Of course for me, while I don?t know Adam Ferrara, but am a fan of Tanner Foust, it was Rutledge Wood that was the question mark and still is as I?m also a NASCAR fan and that?s where Wood?s comes from. Wood use to be on the SPEED Channel and in my opinion that wasn?t a success, but after four episodes, he seems to doing ok right now. However, once the season started rolling out and fans started to get to know the hosts, Top Gear USA has became a hit. The show has received better reviews. I truly believe that the more episodes that the History...
Say hello to the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible that will start at $30,0
2010-09-30 20:56:00 (Source: GM) Earlier today, General Motors (GM) announced in a press release (found on Facebook) that the 21st century rebirth of the Chevy Camaro will open a new chapter with the premiere of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible at the LA International Auto Show on Nov. 17. As a car enthusiast, I?m not surprised that Chevrolet came out with the Camaro convertible, but rather that it took the automaker so long to do so considering consumers have been asking for the convertible version even before the new 21st Century Chevrolet Camaro make its presents know in showrooms when the coupe went on sale back in the Spring of the 2009. The Camaro Convertible will make its way into showrooms in February 2011 with a starting price of $30,000. The Convertible will feature the same as the basic model Camaro coupe with a 312 horsepower Direct-Injection V6 engine. Even more, the SS model with the real muscle car power will have a 6.2 liter V8 engine with 426 horsepower on tap attached through ...

Bikes, Trains, and not Automobiles
2010-04-22 15:30:00 I've talked in the past about encouraging more bikers to commute to work, but I've failed to integrate one type of bike commuter; the type that only bikes for part of their commute. Many people live too far from work to bike the entire distance and instead need to incorporate both their bike and the train as a means of getting to the office. The Metra and the CTA say they are bike-friendly, but let's fact it, they really aren't. In this post I will discuss a few ways that both the CTA and Metra can improve the commute for their distance commuters....

C6W - The Six Wheel Sports Car: Ferruccio Covini conceptualized the original idea in '74, but the project was abandoned in favor of the Soleado project. The C6W is a two-seater with four wheels in the front, weighs just 1,150kg, has an Audi 4.2 litre V8 motor and is capable of reach speeds in excess of 300km/h. AIR MOTORS FOR AUTOMOBILES
2008-11-21 11:36:00 I've been thinking about the air motor. The motor could be just like the steam engine. It would be very simple. Use liquid air or highly compressed air for fuel. SAY WORD! | WHY DOES THE CITY OF NEW YORK ENGAGE IN LEGALIZED VANDELISM?
2008-11-14 12:26:00 Here's what I can't understand. Why does the City Of New York, aside from the fine, engage in what amounts to legalized vandelism of my private property by sniping my rear passenger, drivers side car window with a 12x12 garishly green neon sticker using industrial strength glue? Is that really necessary? Isn't it a little excessive? Is a fine not enough? Not in New York City my friends.

Why do you as an employee have the business or security justification to transfer and store sensitive PII: (personally identifiable information) onto your mobile device? (A little of asking who, what, where and when about your information will help here too).
