Bright Ideas for Oilcloth Fabric
2012-01-06 10:58:00 Oilcloth fabrics are not just for table-cloths any more! They used to be in style for just such purpose, and were only to be found in boring colors and checkered patterns. Now nonetheless , the use of oilcloth fabrics has exploded into popular culture with brands like Cath Kidston and Fossil in a not likely place- as purses, cosmetic bags and other personal accessories. Oilcloth is a lovely choice for these uses, and especially lends itself well as use for a nappy bag fabric, as it is impervious to water, so can contain everything from a leaky diaper to a valve-less sippy cup. The patterns available are a lot more variegated than in the former decade, with bursts of colour, bold floral prints, and bright dots, spots, and stripes. Oilcloth fabric can also be employed for those daring, entrepreneurial mums who make their own cloth diapers- the water resistant oilcloth is a superb, cheaper substitute for the more costly PUL (polyurethane laminate) material that is more commonly used. ...

KiaOra magazine bright ideas
2008-03-31 11:45:00 If you’ve ever travelled with Air New Zealand you’ll be aware of their KiaOra magazine stuffed in behind their emergency instructions at the back of each seat. Did you know you’re allowed to take it with you? . The evening I recently spent with MrUsa there was a copy on the hotel room coffee table. He suggested running an ad in aforementioned magazine would be a good idea. He wasnt wrong! Brilliant. Now all I need to do is come up with one which disguises the “Hooker” element while still registering with those I need it to. Ive been thinking about it. What do you think of this? I took the KiaOra pic during my flight back from Queenstown. The things I point my camera at?!
My Bright Ideas
2007-11-06 03:57:00 I’ve been struggling to find an efficient way to dye lots of yarn at the same time. My biggest issues? Having to mix dye too often, and not having enough containers for all the colors. The yarn was also getting tangled while dyeing… and I needed a space efficient way to dry the yarn so ...
The Comment Graveyard - where dumb comments go to DIE!
2007-09-01 01:11:00 A raving moonbat anti-American Christian hating atheist wrote a post yesterday about my post, God Sends in the Marines - Monday Morning HUMOR. His post made it to the front page of Reddit.com. Of course Reddit.com is a raging pit of moonbat idiocy so it did not surprise me when the negative troll comments start showing up on that post like crazies at a Kos convention. Now that I am trying to be a happier person and have decided to delete negative troll comments here at Passionate America, I found myself spending way to much time deleting the never ending stream of retarded hate filled comments. It was really a shame to delete some of the stupider comments that made me chuckle a bit, so I came up with and idea on how to keep the comments while at the same time preventing them from stinking up the happy mood of this blog. Introducing The Comment Graveyard - where dumb comments go to DIE! Instead of completely removing these gems of ignorance from the nether regions of the net, I have ...
Plaidiphillia - if its not plaid its CRAP!
2007-08-26 21:58:00 My crazy brother Big Mike (co-host of the Passionate America Show Podcast) has started a new blog, Plaidiphilia. Plaidiphilia is a blog about all things plaid and the love of plaid. If you love plaid or like to laugh at people that like plaid (blasphamy) then you will love this blog. He has just started this blog so there is not a lot there yet, but I’ll be helping him with it and we should have some plaidrific content up soon. I’ll be working on the design of the blog over the next week and pimp it out with some more plaidelicious plaid patterns. If you have a fetish for plaid you’ll feel right at home. Now if someone would just invent plaid Bacon™! Plaidiphillia - if its not plaid its CRAP! Update: I almost forgot. I did a virtual blog dissection of Plaidiphilia so you can get an idea of what the new site will look like when I get around to redesigning it. If you would like to get a virtual blog dissection I am giving away 5 for FREE! All you have to do is ...

Anyone Have Any Other Bright Ideas?/Thursday Night Open Thread
2007-07-20 02:13:00 I don't get that much news up here in the great North Woods, but I have been able to glean a few bits and pieces of information lo these past few days: 1. Barry Bonds is still a jerk, albeit a jerk who can really hit a baseball. 2. This team is far better than any of us anticipated, even without our "stars" in the lineup. 3. Both Ward and Floyd are out with injuries, lowering our team's average weight significantly. 4. We have three more games to play without Derrek Lee. 5. Mark DeRosa was sent to this team as part of some sort of divine prophecy, wherein the baseball gods recognized that, due to injuries, this team would need a "supersub" of Jose Oquendo-like proportions, who could play any position on a moment's notice. 6. When I leave gravedigger in charge, this place turns into a Barry Bonds lovefest. 7. The stupid Brewers have started winning again. I think that just about covers the news this week. It's Thursday night. . . and this is your open thread.

2007-07-18 20:41:00 Let’s face it the only reason Brattleboro, Vermont temporarily banned public nudity is because ugly nude old people decided to screw it up for the rest of us. Damn ugly old nude people. Its time to ban ugly nude people and keep them where the belong: on the internet. Who’s with me?
Have You Heard Of Coworking?
2007-07-06 16:46:00 Being a stay-at-home father I am always looking for ways to get out of the house and meet other adults that share my interests. Rich Schefren - New Free Report, The Attention Age Doctrine
2007-07-03 02:44:00 Business expert and entrepreneur Rich Schefren has finally released his new free ebook download The Attention Age Doctrine. I downloaded it, printed it, and read it while I took the bath that I had added to my to-do list. I plodded through the first 20 pages where Rick spends so much time trying to sell you on the fact that he has an earth shattering idea that can give you a great advantage. I already know from reading his previous reports Internet Business Manifesto that Rick knows what he is talking about and I didn't need to be sold on that fact again. I found myself wondering, when is he finally going to get around to the meat and potatoes of his report. Around page 20 I started to realize what he was leading to. Rick Schefren believes we have already moved out of the Information age and we are in a new age altogether. Rick calls this The Age of Attention. Excerpt from The Attention Age Doctrine:

Don?t Pay Taxes: How to get the government to listen to us.
2007-06-21 01:20:00 Think about this question: How do we motivate our government to do their job and stop the invasion of illegal aliens. The current methods being used to voice our outrage are not really working. Letters, emails, and phone calls: do you even know if your so-called representatives are getting the message? If they are getting ...

Money Can Buy Happiness
2007-05-20 23:29:00 I had a conversation with a friend a short time ago. The subject of our conversation turned to the age old cliché, “Money cannot buy happiness.” My friend was adamant in his attempt to convince me money cannot buy happiness. My mistake was that I somewhat agreed. My mind has been much clearer lately so ...
