Pope to visit Britain 2010
2009-09-24 01:06:00 Pope Benedict XVI will visit Britain next year following an invitation from Prime Minister Gordon Brown, a government source said on Wednesday. It would appear that the visit will be a State Visit and not simply a "pastoral visit" as Pope John Paul II conducted many years ago. One hopes that there will be official confirmation of this soon: as well as an idea of his itinerary.

Who really runs Britain?
2009-08-29 19:57:00 Who runs Britain? The UK parliament? The Queen? Both in partnership? Or some old bald-headed freak cackling away in a bank vault in London or Edinburgh?Funny story. Turns out that a company named Serco, headed by a South African fellow, actually runs the UK, its railways, and quite a bit more besides.Oh what this blogging gnat would give for one particular name of the a*s who runs America. He'd have a lot of 'splainin' to do, wouldn't he?

Saudi Power/Influence in the United KIngdom -- Her Majesty's Britain
2009-03-31 23:28:00 Saudi Arabia has the power/influence not only to have American newspapers --that like to see themselves as "talking truth to power"-- bend over backwards to justify Saudi massacres of civilians but they have power/influence in the UK --Britain-- too. David Pryce-Jones reports several cases, one of which we have reported on Emet m'Tsiyon. In Britain Saudi demands have perverted the normal system of criminal investigation and caused injustice against British citizens oppressed ["mistreated"] by the Saudi kingdom. The situation is outrageous but it seems that there is not enough outrage to correct it.Here is our previous post on Saudi-demanded perversion of political and journalistic decency in the United States. What does it mean that the press and universities and judicial systems in supposedly democratic countries pervert their own conduct in order to please the superrich bigots who represent Wahhabi Islam? Many of Israel's enemies in America try to have things both ways. Islamification of Britain
2009-03-20 16:49:00 Labour Party MP Shahid Malik has predicted the total Islamification of Britain and a Muslim prime minister, ?Allah willing?, within the next thirty years. The remarks were made at the October 2008 ?Global Peace and Unity? conference held at the Excel London centre, but were deliberately withheld from the video coverage released of that event. The video speech in which Mr Malik made his remarks has now been released on the internet?nearly five months after the event. The suppression of the video was clearly designed to try and limit the damage to the ruling Tory and Labour elite, whose immigration policies have led to the situation where a Muslim cabinet minister can confidently predict the total Islamification of this nation. In his speech, Mr Malik said that he was ?proud of the achievements of the Muslims of this country since 1997.? Referring to Muslim members of the British parliament, himself included, Mr Malik went on to say that: ?In 1997 we got our first Muslim MP. In 2001 w...

The House of Lords Speech: What Wilders Would Have Said If Britain Allowed
2009-02-24 20:48:00 From the International Free Press Society website:Below is the text of the address that Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders was invited to deliver at the House of Lords on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Instead of making this address and showing his film Fitna, he was detained by UK immigration officials on his arrival at London Heathrow airport and sent back to the Netherlands as a risk to ?public security.? Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much. Thank you for inviting me. Thank you Lord Pearson and Lady Cox for showing Fitna [see it here], and for your gracious invitation. While others look away, you seem to understand the true tradition of your country, and a flag that still stands for freedom. This is no ordinary place. bankrupting Britain
2009-01-25 21:24:00 Sunday 25: Am I a conspiracy theorist? I frequently feel that this bankrupting of Britain (or is it just England and Wales?) seems to be part of some bigger plan. It would be easier to make us an outpost of the European Empire if we were just some struggling, albeit bolshy, province. An island province ...

The only letdown was in the art department. At times it seemed rushed. I guess that was why Mike Collins and Cam Smith were brought in. The art was above average but not up to the standard set in the previous issues. The team comes together to battle Plotka. Plotka is a duke of Hell. Plotka gains the energy he needs to create the Mindless Ones (first seen in the Lee/Ditko Dr. Strange stories) by trapping people in the Dream Corridor. If you willing agree to stay there, Plotka will bring your fantasy to life. Captain Midlands is bought by the memory of his dead wife. Energy-guzzling TV's to be phased out by Britain...
2009-01-15 09:24:00 In a move which is aimed towards fighting global warming, Britain is set to phase out energy-guzzling flat screen plasma televisions, reports the Independent. Minimum energy performance standards are expected to be set to keep in check the energy consumption by TVs across Europe and inefficient ones will be phased out. This move comes a week after the withdrawal of 100W incandescent bulb and is a welcome move as per climate change experts.Flat screen plasma TVs consume four times as much energy as any other normal television set run on cathode ray tubes and hence this move would go a long way in saving valuable energy, especially as the use of such wasteful devices has been increasing. Labeling could be introduce which would help in identifying useful and wasteful gadgets. Kudos to Britain for taking this step... there's a lot to be done though.

Britain?s Conservatives are bereft of a credible economic alternative.
2009-01-03 11:42:00 The economic ideology that has failed is a Conservative ideology. Anti-Jewish Racist UK Continues Its War against the Human Rights of Jews
2008-12-21 14:55:00 Racist UK continues war against the human rights of JewsThe United Kingdom, often called Great Britain, accepted a mandate, a trust, from the League of Nations on behalf of the Jewish people to foster development of the Jewish National Home in the Land of Israel. This meant fostering "close settlement" on the land by Jews. As everyone ought to know, the UK violated its mandate, its commitment to the Jewish National Home principle, precisely on the eve of the Holocaust. The Land of Israel --unfortunately labelled "palestine" by the League of Nations-- was recognized as historically Jewish. The League stated: ". . . recognition has thereby been given [by the mandate] to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine" [preamble of the League of Nations mandate, 1922].The worst single violation by the UK of this mandate was the 1939 "White Paper for Palestine" which severely limited Jewish immigration to the Land of Israel precisely when the Jews most needed a home, on t...

The West, Especially Britain, More Dangerous to Israel than the Arabs
2008-12-14 13:16:00 The West has a history of nearly 2000 years of vilifying, defaming, and falsely accusing Jews, as well as persecuting them. Christian Judeophobia and anti-Judaism based on religion was joined by "post-Christian" Judeophobia in the writings of Kant, Fichte, Hegel, Voltaire, d'Holbach and others. Most of the "post-Christian" Judeophobia actually had roots in the teachings of the Christian reformer, Martin Luther. Be that as it may, Judeophobia in word and practice culminated in the Holocaust. Has this Judeophobia ended? Or has it changed form? Has it just changed its dress? Is today's fashionable "anti-Zionism" just old wine in new bottles?[?????? : ???? ????? ????? ???? ]Next question. What does the West want in the Middle East? Does it want peace between Israel and the Arabs? Does it want peace without Israel, that is, peace of mind for antisemites? Does it want war?If the West wants peace between Israel and the Arabs, then why does it finance the PLO/Palestinian Authority? The E...

The church and Britain: a homily for Christ the King Sunday
2008-12-09 01:59:00 A guest-post by Andrew Brower Latz (Ben’s note: Sorry, I’m a couple of weeks behind with this – but I still wanted to post this excellent sermon, which Andrew Brower Latz, an F&T-reader, preached recently for Christ the King Sunday)Today is the feast of Christ the King, or the Reign of Christ, the last Sunday of the Christian year. It was established by the Roman Catholic Church in the 20th century in response to the rise of fascism. It proclaims, in the words of Paul, that Christ is ‘far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named.’ Powerful stuff, but what does it mean for us today, living in a 21st-century liberal democracy?Let me begin with two examples from the media, one recent and one not so recent. The first, on Thursday on Radio 3, was a discussion with Trevor Philips, director of the Commission for Racial Equality; someone towards the left of the political spectrum, who describes himself as progressive and libertarian. ...

Britain's Best Broadband Deals ("The Gadget Show")
2008-11-11 00:01:00 Tonight's edition of The Gadget Show enables me to give you both a fresh scoop of technologically informative goodness whilst simultaneously getting a whinge off my chest. Yes, it's the notoriously dodgy field of broadband providers tonight, a field I have considerable experience with (hence the whinge) and one which has been briefly de-mystified thanks to the Jon Test segment of the show.Anybody embarking on the goddamn annoyance that is installing broadband will know that even prior to the major ball ache that is physically installing the damn thing (many expletives have been expressed Chez Wilson in regards to routers,) you have to choose the best bloody deal. Of course, price is a prime factor, but there are others variables at hand such as speed and download limit when one is to get oneself connected. In Britain's Best Broadband Deals, the advice to happy shoppers is to visit simplifydigital.co.uk for deal info, and that most users will need no more than 15 ...

Come on Britain, it's only the Olympics
2008-09-01 03:08:00 'If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well, It were done quickly' - Macbeth (Scotsman), William Shakespeare (Englishman)Team GB is getting ridiculous. The prospect of Britain fielding a football team at the 2012 Olympics should have been something to celebrate after years of absence. Instead it is fast becoming an almighty calamity. For years, I watched in envy as other nations played soccer in the Olympics, but it was never a huge loss for us to be left out. Now we have finally been invited to (our own) party, we are umming and erring so much we might not even end up going. There are two immovable obstacles at the heart of the current furor, which shows no signs of abating. One is that the UK is four nations in one and those four nations are the oldest football associations in the world, with privileged seats on FIFA?s International Board but in danger of disappearing if enough FIFA nations choose to dissolve them into a UK team. And second is that the UK has no choice but ...
