Marc Elliott, owner of Fluent Finance Abroad and an independent mortgage consultant, explained investors need to do their homework before taking out a loan from a bank. For overseas buyers, most lenders are offering a loan-to-value (LTV) of between 60 per cent and 70 per cent, although there are 110 per cent LTV mortgages available on some bank-owned properties, with the additional money provided to cover purchase costs.
