How W.H. gay marriage declarations affect other Democratic candidates

Hillary Clinton?s Concession And Obama Endorsement Speech

Historical Comparisons and Meaning: Clinton Should Have Conceded
2008-06-06 02:25:00 Over at the Plank, professor David Greenberg argues about the timetable of Clinton’s concession. He cites three examples: Gary Hart in 1984, Ted Kennedy in 1980, and Morris Udall in 1976, and finds Clinton’s concession this coming Saturday to be at the least on par with the other two. A few notes: One, the media cycles ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Historical Comparisons and Meaning: Clinton Should Have Conceded", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/06-/05/historical-comparisons-and--meaning-clinton-should-have-con-ceded/" });

When Does Leading Become Winning?
2008-05-19 21:27:00 The Clinton and Obama campaign are arguing over what tomorrow’s primaries are going to mean. That is when Obama is going to secure a majority of pledged delegates. 2008-04-19 11:50:00 Kabul, 18 April (AKI) - (by Syed Saleem Shahzad) - US presidential candidate Barack Obama has generated broad support in Afghanistan, while Somalis would prefer to work with his Democratic rival Senator Hillary Clinton.These are the findings of a survey conducted by the international think-tank, The Senlis Council, in Afghanistan and Somalia in March and April. According to the think-tank, the results of this year's US presidential elections are "critical to both countries," as they are both "strongly affected by US policy". When asked which of the presidential candidates they would back, 69 percent of those questioned in Afghanistan favoured Obama, while 26 percent were in favour of Clinton. In Somalia, 47 percent of civilians surveyed supported Clinton, while 44 percent backed Obama.

Then, everyone discusses how terrible it is for a few days (or weeks) until the desperate search for something begins and then the cycle repeats itself. ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Tomorrow’s Outrage, Today: Puerto Rico’s Primary Shuffle", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/03-/18/tomorrows-outrage-today-pue-rto-ricos-primary-shuffle/" });

Joe Klein Gets It, But Doesn?t Seem to Care
2008-03-18 00:46:00 Joe Klein writes today: So we now have a pattern. Obama’s chief economic advisor (Austan Goolsbee) and a prominent foreign policy advisor (Power) have now told the truth on two important issues, trade and Iraq respectively. Their truth contradicted some of the overheated rhetoric their boss was using on the campaign trail. Hillary Clinton–whose actual positions ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Joe Klein Gets It, But Doesn’t Seem to Care", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/03-/17/joe-klein-gets-it-but-doesn-t-seem-to-care/" });

No Re-Vote In Florida
2008-03-18 00:04:00 Ben Smith has the details, and says it’s a not a good thing for Clinton. I’d tend to agree, but I think the stakes were sort of exaggerated in Florida from the start. Most of the Edwards supporters probably would have gone to Obama at the convention. Clinton loses a chance at a bigger win, ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "No Re-Vote In Florida", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/03-/17/no-re-vote-in-florida/" });

A Brief Comment on Wright and Obama
2008-03-14 22:41:00 I don’t have much to add to the growing chorus of voices on Wright and Obama. (A list of links after the jump). But I haven’t seen anyone else say that this is an opportunity for Obama; an opportunity for a high profile backing of Wright’s preaching of the gospel and of Wright’s ability to ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "A Brief Comment on Wright and Obama", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/03-/14/a-brief-comment-on-wright-a-nd-obama/" });

Memo to Voters: None of the Candidates Will Lower Your Gas Prices; A Glance
2008-03-14 22:04:00 One of the oddities of current elective politics is not who the media covers, or in what tone they cover them, but rather the insipid approach to issues most people find important. For instance, gas prices. Andrew Leonard wrote about gas prices and the presidential election at Salon earlier this week. To his credit, he ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Memo to Voters: None of the Candidates Will Lower Your Gas Prices; A Glance At Clinton’s “Plan”", url: "http://2008central.net/2008/03-/14/memo-to-voters-none-of-the--candidates-will-lower-your-gas--prices-a-glance-at-clintons-pla-n/" });
