David Tennant of 'Doctor Who' the love at Comic-Con
2009-07-26 22:21:00
One thing was obvious when David Tennant came onstage for the "Doctor Who" panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday: Fans do not want his time as the Time Lord to end. Fans shouted "We love you!" and "Don't go!" and "Love your hair!" They stood and shrieked and cheered as Tennant, not unlike is quirky Doctor, ran in front of the stage with his arms in the air. "I love you too, each one of you, but in a slightly different, individual way," Tennant, wearing a sparkly Stormtrooper T-shirt, said at one point to the crowd's pleasure....
Big BBC America week continues with 'Doctor Who,' 'Being Hum

BBC America unleashed the five-part "Torchwood: Children of Earth" this past week, but the network has much more in store for sci fi fans. David Tennant begins his final four appearances as Doctor Who on Sunday, while the dinosaur thriller "Primeval" ends its run Saturday. Also Saturday, the roommate drama "Being Human"--with its fantasy twist--premieres the first of six excellent episodes. (Well, at least the first three are.) I'll be chatting with the stars and creators of "Doctor Who" and "Being Human" on Sunday at Comic-Con, do shoot me a note if you have questions for them....

Call me a soppy sod but I was very touched that the bloke in this picture mentioned me in the acknowledgments section of his Ph.D Thesis 'Concepts and Calculations in Cryptography'. Of course, I know nothing about such things but it is nice to be mentioned for just being a nice geezer. So, cheers Dude. Whilst I really like this photo, it pains me a little to post it as it was shot with his Canon 1v and as a Nikon Fanboy this is really against my religion. Still, I gotta say, the Canon 50mm f/1.4 on the 1v with some Tri-x film is a lush combo. Go Nikon!

2008-08-13 21:39:00
-By Frederick Meekins As culture passes through various stages of technological development, the science fiction of a particular point in history often reflects the concerns regarding the horrors discerning intellects at the time feared could possibly be inflicted upon the earth should what is then considered new knowledge get out of hand. For example, throughout ...

DVD Review: Doctor Who ?Timelash?
2008-05-22 21:13:00
One of the more interesting episodes from the Colin Baker period, Timelash, is now available on DVD from BBC Video and finds the Doctor battling a ruthless alien, a crisis in the time/space continuum, and a script with more holes than 500 gopher colonies.

Kittiwat Unarrom has a master’s degree in fine arts and enjoys making body parts out of bread at a bakery in Thailand. Very realistic and disturbing body parts. They’re made out of dough, raisins, cashews and chocolate. He even paints the outside with edible paint to give it an even more gruesome appearance. What do ...
