Chevron Ecuador: Judge Kaplan Sort-Of Punks Steven Donziger With RICO Rulin
2012-05-16 03:37:00
Steve Donziger, the lead plaintiff lawyer in a fraudulent lawsuit pitting Chevron against Ecuador, managed to really piss off U.S. Southern District Of New York Judge Lewis Kaplan on April 26, 2011. That action, arguably, led to this week’s news that the same Kaplan upheld Chevron’s RICO lawsuit against Donziger, and also came very close (Read More...)

Chevron Ecuador Judge Nicolas Zambrano Dismissed; Correa Reverses On Media
2012-03-08 14:36:00
Nicolas Zambrano, the judge that awarded his own country fraudulently-obtained victory in the long-standing lawsuit against Chevron, was dismissed on Wednesday for the freeing of Cristian Suquisupa. What Zambrano did was to reportedly find technicalities in Cristian Suquisupa’s documents that allowed him to go free. From the read of the news, and considering Ecuador’s corrupt (Read More...)

Is Deepwater Horizon the New Ecuador?
2012-01-31 19:30:00
Nearly two years after the worst accidental offshore oil spill in the history of the energy industry, some of the biggest companies in the world are busy pointing their legal fingers at one another in court over who has to pay what in claims, damages and fines over the deadly Deepwater Horizon oil spill. A federal judge this week ruled that BP is still obligated to a clause in its contract with Transocean that would protect the rig owner from damages related to the spill. That means BP still has to shell out money to settle claims filed by those along the southern U.S. coast impacted by the spill. BP, meanwhile, is suing Halliburton, something Halliburton said was ridiculous. . . . → Read More: Is Deepwater Horizon the New Ecuador?

2012-01-24 19:59:00
For those who romanticized Ecuador as a fair, democratic country with solid “freedom of the press” laws, much like America, it’s time to wake up. In an action that comes as no surprise to anyone, an Ecuador appeals court confirmed the decision by Ecuador to award an $18 billion damage award to Ecuador. Chevron Ecuador: Petroecuador Plans To Clean Up Its Oil Mess

Chevron Should Stay Course In Ecuador Case, Ignore Shell Issue

(4/2011) Moving Our Lives To Ecuador
2011-04-06 23:07:00
Susan Schenck-- The time came for us to move our lives to Ecuador.  So my husband and I went back to San Diego to get our stuff out of storage and on the ship. It was going to cost around $7,700 to do this; so many Americans will just sell everything and buy new things here. But I wanted my library of 1400 books. We felt like we were back in the USA as soon as we got on the plane. Toilet seat covers, what a novelty! We had managed to live without them for seven months without getting any strange disease. Now back in the consumer capital of the world, my mission was to fill up that 20-foot container crate! And I had precisely two weeks to do it. This meant shopping for 12 or even 14-hour days! I felt like I was in some sort of game show where you are challenged to fill up your shopping crate in X number of hours. The Ecuadorian rules were that you can’t ship anything new (unless you want to pay 50% duty on it), so I dutifully used everything, even if it meant wearing s...

'Hoodwinked' author John Perkins saves Mr. Media from the economic hit men
2010-05-25 20:33:00
Cover via Amazon By BOB ANDELMAN Forget Stephen King novels. If you want some really scary bedtime reading, I?m going to recommend John Perkins new non-fiction book, Hoodwinked. It?ll leave you afraid to turn off the lights at night. Hoodwinked is the sequel to Perkins? previous book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, and it is an eyes wide awakener. You?ll feel like you?ve been living in La-La Land all your life after reading the no-bullshit revelations about how the world?s corporatocracy really operates. You might also feel like taking a long, hot shower because learning how American businesses really operate around the world is more alarming than any Oliver Stone paranoid cinematic fantasy. It?s almost too wild a tale; it would be easier to believe if the book was just one story of naked greed and ambition, but Hoodwinked is page after page of ugly Americanism. John Perkins Website ? Ecuador Lawyer Pablo Fajardo Says Chevron Ecuador Case Could End In 2011
2008-09-24 04:51:00
This is new and extraordinary news, considering that both sides expected a ruling this year. Well, someone's going to have to finance Steve Donziger for another three years! By Mercedes Alvaro - Dow Jones Newswires, September 16, 2008: 5:47 PM QUITO - (Dow Jones)- A five-year-old environmental-damage trial in Ecuador against U.S. oil company Chevron Corp. (CVX) could take at least two or three more years, lawyers said Tuesday. The delay is expected after objections to an April report from a court- appointed expert were received by a court in Lago Agrio. The report prepared by Richard Cabrera, a geologist and environmental consultant, recommended that Chevron pay at least $8.3 billion, and maybe as much as $16 billion, in compensation for environmental damage in Ecuador. Chevron is facing the lawsuit in Ecuador for alleged contamination by its Texaco unit in the Amazon region of Lago Agrio. The company is accused of having used out-of-date technology that led to environmenta...

The famous Russian neo-Nazi video is on this blog here.Updated September 2:In the comments section, Scott, who is a White nationalist, discusses the disconnect between multiculturalism and socialism or social democracy.Yes, we do allow White nationalists, even anti-Black ones, on the board, but every time a cute Black woman shows up on the board, we force them to kiss her. On the lips. On penalty of banning. None have left yet. Brown sugar, how come you taste so good?
