2007-12-22 21:13:00
Here's a couple little meme's I've come accross lately that were fun to do and would also serve as great 'instant' journaling for Christmas themed scrapbook layouts or minibooks. You could take the quizzes yourself and/or use the answers of other friends and family members, too! This one is from this week's meme prompt from Tuesday Twosome: Shopped early for presents or are still procrastinating: Shopped early“Bah Humbug” or “Jingle Bells…”: "Jingle Bells..."Buy presents because you enjoy giving or because you feel obligated: Buy presents because I enjoy givingEnjoy all the holiday cheer or “Enough already. Give me my present.”: Enjoy all the holiday cheerOpen presents on Christmas Eve or wait until Christmas morning: Open presents on Christmas Eve at my parents and on Christmas morning at my husband's parents...the best of both worlds! This one was an email meme I received from a good friend of mine (thanks, Rhnissa!):Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mainly wrapping...

2007-10-25 13:17:00
Since around 1983 or so, I have been keeping a journal. Not every day, I have gone for months at times without writing a word. And there have been other times where I would fill up a blank journal book in a few weeks. They have always been faithful to me. I could always depend ...

2007-07-01 17:39:00
Blogmemes (a meme is defined as a bit of cultural knowledge or an attitude that spreads through a population) and email surveys may sometimes seem like a waste of time, but they can be great writing prompts for scrapbook journaling. I have used them before in my own scrapping and idea was also featured in the August/September 2007 issue of Digital Scrapbooking magazine. Here's a great blogmeme I
How My Journaling Has Come Along
2007-06-04 08:13:00
The photo in this entry is Diva. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez.Since I began my current journal in March I have only managed to fill it halfway. Lately I have hardly been writing entries which is quite the difference from several entries a day when I began. My Moleskine is still in good shape, although it has become lonely. My pen no longer graces its pages as eagerly as it once did. I feel so bad about it.One of the reasons I don't journal as often is because I no longer have as many opportunities as I once did to do so. I have been quite busy with preparing to attend a college art class this month, blogging on a daily basis, managing my photography work, being involved in the 1001 Journals project, managing my email, attending events, and soon corresponding with pen pals.I have not given up on journaling, which has been as neglected as sketching lately. Although, I am surely at a slower pace than I want to be. I usually manage to get an entry a week now, and only o...
My Journaling Habits are Evolving
2007-04-14 11:36:00
The photo in this entry is Feather Tickle. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez.Since I started the journal I'm currently writing in, I have been able to explore more of myself than in previous journals. I began this journal with the intent to be more honest with myself in an effort to break through my typical method of writing. I knew if I wanted different results from my writing, I needed to take a different approach. Nearly 100 pages later, I'm really glad I did.Although I have done a lot of self exploration in journaling in the past, this new approach involves being more raw and personal than I have ever been. I'm actually more comfortable with more things in my life, and I have a boost of confidence. I've been realizing some deep aspects about myself and my life as well. I guess if you dig deep enough, there's always something to find. Previously, I would only scratch the surface in my efforts to learn more about myself and my world. There are two things that I rema...

The Joys of Journaling
2007-03-30 03:40:00
The photo in this entry is Check Me Out. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez.I have filled nearly 50 pages of my Moleskine journal within the last week. I didn't think I would write so much, but I guess there was a lot in my heart and mind that needed to be spilled out on those pages. I am glad I have a new Moleskine journal ready for me when I am done with this one.Recently there have been quite a few websites that have served as really good inspiration and motivation for my journaling. Most recently being the 1001 Journals project. I decided to participate in a traveling visual journal, which should arrive within a month or so. I got the idea to either set up a local location journal, or simply start my own traveling journal. I don't have the guts to post my own personal journal, simply because of its very raw and personal nature.Other sites I have come across that have given me a lot of motivation are A Creative Journal, and Journal Magic. They are wonderful sites that...
