But more of that later. I must first offer an explanation for that absence. The reason was that I couldn’t write. I suffered something akin to writer’s block, the consequence of a traumatic experience – I was robbed of my good name. I believed I could get up, dust myself off and carry on as before. I was mistaken; my subconscious had other ideas.
