Kanye West featured on fresh new track from 30 Seconds To Mars
2009-11-29 11:34:00
30 Seconds To Mars "Hurricane" f/ Kanye West FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, This Is War *Tibs Fav.â„¢This is different. 30 Seconds To Mars link up with Kanye West for an alternative type track called "Hurricane" off the upcoming album, This Is War (shouts 2 H.E.R.). The percussion is especially strong right from the bat - an element that defines the track and evokes the feeling that it could be in a movie. Lyrically is where the record also stands out as there are many powerful, resonating lines with my favorite part coming from Kanye West below."The quiet silence defines our misery,The riot inside keeps trying to visit me,No matter how hard we try, there's too much history,Too many...

Fueling Fires: out-of-bounds Mars in Cancer Sep 1, 2009
2009-08-31 23:10:00
Tomorrow is Sept 1, 2009, and once again America is spending part of our summer alight with raging wildfires, especially in California, which means we're again having trouble with an out-of-bounds Mars, now conjunct US natal Venus @ '4 Cancer' and in process of intimating his activist self between Venus and our nation's natal Jupiter '6 Cancer' - and you know that Cancer is the sign of Home, Domestic Scene, and Family. Yes, testy, testosterone-driven Mars, god of war, quarrels, and a dedicated fire-starter, is 'in the house' (Cancer.)US Venus/Jupiter = tr Mars: preoccupation with opportunity; trying to make things happen successfully; stirred up feelings; strong powers of wishing.(Any~all~none may apply on various levels at different moments.)Even California's Mt. Wilson Observatory is at risk as the fires' area doubled overnight.Prayers for safety go to the folks in our western coastal regions from this gnat of a blogger on the eastcoast. CA has enough troubles from under...
Wall-E?s Girl-friend?s Cousin, Le Petit Prince, a Robotic Garden For Mars
2009-08-29 05:04:00
Do you remember Wall-E's girlfriend Eve? Her mission was to find plant life. Once she did, it was her mission to protect the plant. Le Petit Prince, though still a concept, is also a robot that has a similar mission, except he already has a plant inside him and it's his mission to keep it alive.

Do You Support a Manned Mission to Mars?
2009-08-10 14:00:00
There have been proposals for a manned mission to Mars since 1947, but it's only recently that there's been serious discussion about sending humans to the red planet. NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) are both projecting possible attempts to land a person on Mars in either the late 2020s

Kristen Bell Needs YOUR Help to Make the VERONICA MARS Movie a Reality
2009-07-10 18:45:00
Kristen Bell may not possess the proficiency for computers that her TV-alter ego Veronica Mars did, but that’s not about to stop her from making her presence felt since discovering this new-fangled craze called twitter. In fact, since making her presence known on twitter late last week, Bell has been tweeting up a storm; Replying to fan questions (Yes, she’ll be at San Diego’s Comic Con on July 24th), offering up 140 character movie reviews (On My Sister’s Keeper, “that movie rocked me emotionally. i felt like i had been pepper sprayed by the end my eyes were so swollen from tears.”) and did we mention, enlisting you, the fans in her mini MARS movie revolution? No, seriously. According to Bell, if you want to see VERONICA MARS on the big screen (and really, who doesn’t?), the proverbial ball — as the saying goes — is in your court. Explained Bell via twitter yesterday, “VM movie fans- rob [Thomas] and i took it to WB- and they sa...

I wonder what time John Carter got up on Mars? (Keeping My Chin Up 1)
2009-04-20 20:51:00
Two unrelated-to-anyone-but-me pieces of news caught my attention over the weekend that have now prompted me to create a new category of entries here on this blog. The first was that woman everyone's talking about, Susan Boyle, on "Britain's Got Talent." At 47, she got a chance, finally, to sing for someone and as a result, has captured the world's attention.People will say Susan is an "overnight sensation," but she's not really. In 1999, Ms. Boyle recorded a CD track for a charity compilation, having auditioned during a search for unsigned acts. That doesn't make her any more or less great as a person -- it simply means that Susan Boyle has been trying (maybe on and off) for 10 years to be a singer. The other news I heard was that the books John Carter of Mars are going to be made into a movie. The books, by Edgar Rice Burroughs, began as serialized stories in pulp magazines back at the turn of the last century, so while it took about a hundred years, Burroughs' books finall...

A LIFE ON MARS Post-mortem with Executive Producers Josh Appelbaum and Scot
2009-04-02 16:25:00
In what is sure to go down as one of the most literal endings in television history, Sam Tyler and Co. ended their seventeen episode journey known as LIFE ON MARS last night, doing just that. And whether you loved it, loathed it, or are still scratching your head over it — this TV Addict can’t help but feel that in this era of cancel-happy-television-executi-ves — serious kudos must be paid to executive producers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg for providing fans with any ending at all. Clearly, Appelbaum and Rosenberg get it. As evidence by the fact that not only did they make good on their promise to write and produce a fifteen minute ending to their prematurely canceled series OCTOBER ROAD (which will be included on the second season DVD coming out in MAY), they took the time out of their insanely busy schedule while up in Toronto shooting their new two-hour pilot HAPPY TOWN for ABC to provide a little insight as to what went wrong with LIFE ON MARS and what it’...

2009-04-01 17:32:00
1) So you can kick yourself for not having watched sooner. Especially the last 7 or 8 minutes, with executive producers Josh Applebaum and Scott Rosenberg promising in an interview with Michael Ausiello that, “There is a very clear and definitive answer as to what his journey has been about and how all the pieces over the past 17 hours play into that journey.” Adding, “If there’s one thing we feel pretty good about it’s that in the afterlife of LIFE ON MARS on DVD or wherever, it will exist as a cohesive, complete thought that will all make sense.” 2) Because even if you weren’t there for the beginning, you’ll be there for the end. Which means after you’ve finished kicking yourself for not having jumped on the LIFE ON MARS bandwagon sooner, you’ll have already saved $1.99 when you inevitably head on over to iTunes to download the rest of the series. 3) This may be your last chance to see Harvey Keitel on TV for a while. LOS ANGELES, California — Warner Bros. Pictures is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached between Joel Silver Productions and Warner Bros. Pictures to commence shooting the highly anticipated VERONICA MARS movie with Kristen Bell (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, WHEN IN ROME, HEROES) set to star. A Warner Bros. Picture Production, VERONICA MARS is produced by Joel Silver, and based on the popular television series of the same name that ran on UPN and later the CW from 2004-2007. “Kristen Bell is one of the most gifted actresses working today and we’re thrilled that she, alongside MARS mastermind Rob Thomas have agreed to continue the story they started.” Silver said. “After ending the series in the unfortunate manner in which we did, I’m thrilled to be able to return to Neptune and give fans the resolution they so richly deserve.” Elaborated Thomas. “I loved Veronica right off the bat and am thrilled to be given another chance ...
Good News, Bad News: Brian Austin Green, VERONICA MARS & DirecTV
2009-03-23 19:35:00
Good News: Brian Austin Green just snagged himself another starring role, joining Gabrielle Union, Tim Matheson, Minka Kelly and Jason Dohring in the CW’s BODY POLITIC. Bad News: It’s never a good sign when cast members are already jumping ship, even if his role in the new CW series is no doubt contingent on TERMINATOR’s future, or lack there of. [Source] Good News: Satellite provider DirecTV continues to win over the hearts of TV Addicts everywhere by providing a second home for short-lived favorites such as SMITH, EYES and THE NINE. Bad News: We still don’t get DirecTV in Canada. [Source] Good News: VERONICA MARS mastermind Rob Thomas doesn’t believe that his beloved series’ much-buzzed-about jump to the big screen is completely dead. Bad News: “Right now it’s just looking depressing,” revealed Thomas in a recent interview. “I think honestly if we would have had the pitch ready a year earlier, it would be a go project. T...

2009-02-09 21:21:00
Good News: President Obama is big on change. Bad News: He’s also big on addressing the nation and continually reminding us that we’re screwed. Which by the way, we already get. So how about cutting us a little slack by allowing us to drown our sorrows in television instead of bumping new episodes of HOUSE, CHUCK and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER to next week and pushing THE BIG BANG THEORY back to 9:30PM? [Source] Good News: Zac Efron is getting set to host SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on April 11. Bad News: Vanessa Hudgens is still waiting on that callback for an Arby’s commercial. Awkward. You Be the Critic: LOST, LIE TO ME & LIFE ON MARS
2009-01-29 13:26:00
Since this TV Addict has yet to catch up with all of last night’s television, I thought I’d open up the floor to you, my far smarter and better looking reading by posing the following questions three. (1) Did last night’s jaw-dropping reveals on LOST live up to the hype (also known as serious blogger-overhyped-eritis)? (2) Was LIE TO ME’s second episode as much fun as its first? (3) And most importantly, did anyone remember to tune into the return of LIFE ON MARS? And if so how was it?

The long-awaited iPhone 3G has finally arrived in Thailand, with the third-ranked mobile operator True Move staging a gala launch that drew thousands of people and lots of attention.      Apple reportedly negotiated for some time to get the iPhone 3G into Thailand, but with the state of the 3G support there, will it matter in the long run?      But despite its potential appeal in the Thai market, the iPhone 3G has raised some interesting questions., The main one being, how many Thai users can actually take full advantage of it’s rich features, due to spotty 3G coverage and…

MARS Star’s New Gig!
2008-12-10 23:49:00
Wanna see LIFE ON MARS’ Jason O’Mara (Sam) in a whole new light? Be sure to check out the premiere of TNT’s new show, TRUST ME, on Monday, January 26, at 10 p.m. ET, where you’ll be able to watch the actor pitch a fit — not to mention a DVD — as mad ad man Stu Hoffman. The series — starring Eric McCormack (WILL & GRACE) and Tom Cavanaugh (ED) as modern advertising execs — is a fast-paced, work-place dramedy (more edy than dra) which plays like a more-grounded NIP/TUCK. This isn’t entirely surprising, seeing as it comes from the medical drama’s production team. As for Mara’s gig on TRUST ME — formerly titled TRUTH IN ADVERTISING — expect it to be short-lived, meaning it won’t interfere with LIFE ON MARS in the least.
Exclusive Video: Enrico Colantoni Updates Fans on VERONICA MARS The Movie

Okay, so Enrico Colantoni wasn’t too specific and let’s face it, didn’t exactly provide what some might consider ‘actual details’ on the highly anticipated (read: dreamed about) VERONICA MARS movie. But everybody’s favorite local sheriff turned private investigator was kind enough time to stop by the tiny slice of real estate that this TV Addict carved out on the red carpet during Friday’s 2008 Gemini Awards (Canada’s Emmy equivalent) to give us an update on the movie. Simply click play on the above video for Mr. Colantoni’s surprisingly candid answer and be sure to check back tomorrow to find out what Natasha Henstridge had to say about ELI STONE’s sudden cancellation.
