Breaking News: Minnesota's Eric Decker Done For Regular Season
2009-10-27 19:15:00 Minnesota coach Tim Brewster said today that star wide receiver Eric Decker will miss the rest of the regular season with his foot injury, according to TwinCities.com.Decker has been arguably the best receiver in the conference during the 2009 season, averaging over six catches a game and accounting for five receiving touchdowns. His loss, obviously, is a massive blow to the Golden Gophers' bowl hopes. Minnesota currently sits at 4-4, and assuming a win against South Dakota State and a loss to undefeated Iowa, Brewster's team would need a victory against either Michigan State or Illinois at home to qualify for the postseason. That task will become much harder with the loss of the Gophers' best player....
Minnesota waives Antonio Daniels
2009-10-27 01:11:00 Yahoo.com: The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived veteran guard Antonio Daniels(notes). He was acquired from New Orleans in September in a cost-saving move. The Timberwolves gave permission to Daniels to seek a trade and did not play him in the preseason. Now, I wouldn't normally do this, because such discussions are often really annoying. Every time a player is released by an NBA, or is rumoured to be available in a trade, some kind of discussion flares up surrounding whether or not the Bulls should obtain them. Such discussions are usually unrealistic, unnecessary, or both, and I'd hate to be accused of either of those things. This one, though, has peaked my interests....
Wallace Has Coming-Out Party as Penn State Shuts Down Minnesota
2009-10-18 04:29:00 STATE COLLEGE, PA - On a day first owned by Mother Nature, Penn State and senior cornerback A.J. Wallace put in a dominating performance of their own, shutting out Minnesota 20-0 on a rain and snow soaked Homecoming evening. For some, the road of life features more twists and turns, rises or falls, than others. Take A.J. Wallace, for example....
Penn State Secondary Will Get First True Test with Minnesota's Decker
2009-10-14 06:33:00 Entering the 2009 season, one of the biggest question marks for Penn State was the team's secondary, which entering the season lost significant experience from the 2008 roster, with players such as Anthony Scirrotto, Tony Davis and Lydell Sargeant all moving on.Left was a talented, yet inexperienced bunch, featuring only a handful of returning starts, all from two players in senior A.J. Wallace and sophomore free safety Drew Astorino.Midway through the season, this group of Lions has held its own, but it goes without saying that the Penn State secondary has barely been tested to date.Until this weekend, that is, when a more consistent Minnesota offense comes to town, led by the Big Ten's receiving leader Eric Decker (46 receptions...

2009-10-10 12:03:00 No es buenoUm... sorry, Twins? We really didn't think it was us until these last few days. We thought it was the Cubs. We were eager to be a part of a winner. And last night, it looked like we were going to be. Until the ninth.A couple of waiters who work in the suites at Yankee Stadium were chatting before Friday's game. "When's the next game?" one asked. The other wasn't sure. "But it's either the Red Sox or the Angels," he replied. Smart guys, because it sure looks that way. The Minnesota Twins had the Yankees right where they wanted them Friday night. But the Yankee Stadium nightmare continues. Joe Nathan had a horrible game. He coughed up...
Minnesota Twins version of Chicago Cubs Headlines for Friday
2009-10-09 11:50:00 Creepy manager hugs didn't help win game one, so none for game twoWe should've been preparing for this moment since our Twins lost on Wednesday, but it slipped past me. I failed to see it coming. It's the use of the "must-win situation". To be fair, Kelsie Smith probably doesn't write her own headlines, but the St. Paul Pioneer Press has graced us with the fabled "must-win" one game before it's actually a "must-win". Tonight's game is a "probably-should-win-if-we-want--to-win-the-series". Anyway, on to Kelsie:True. The Twins played the Yankees in the 2003 and 2004 American League Division Series. Both of those series started at Yankee Stadium, and both times the Twins won Game 1, then lost the next three. So they...
Minnesota Twins version of Chicago Cubs Headlines for Thursday
2009-10-08 11:58:00 Did anyone think (other than our endless fountains of positivity gravedigger and doc blume) that the Twins had a shot Wednesday night? They played what may have been the greatest baseball game in years on Tuesday night, flew overnight to New York and had to deal with the smell of the city. I don't think our fearless Twins would use that as an excuse, but they also won't have any problems winning three out of four to win the series. Another Carl (Pavano) enforces my beliefs:"I didn't play [Tuesday], and I'm beat," Twins pitcher Carl Pavano said. "I'm not making excuses for these guys, but they battled today. This day off's definitely going to recharge us. Everyone knows the momentum we...

Minnesota: Indictments Forthcoming For Somali-Americans Suspected Of Helpin
2009-03-12 03:05:00 Thanks to Jawa ReportFox News reports that at least one Somali-American who was attending the University of Minnesota student missing since last year is being probed by a federal grand jury. Three others are being probed and may face charges of materially aiding a terrorist organization. The way the story reads, it sounds like all four were students at UM: A woman who identified herself as a 20-year-old student at the University of Minnesota said she testified before the grand jury [yesterday] morning, after receiving a subpoena on Friday. A copy of the subpoena obtained by Fox News says, "You are hereby commanded to appear and testify before the Grand Jury of the United States District Court." The subpoena told her to appear at 9 a.m. local time. She said FBI agents previously told her that she has "some important information" related to an ongoing FBI investigation. The woman told Fox News she knew four of the Minneapolis-area men who went missing late last year, but she said...
Minnesota Going To Allow Hijabs In Driver License Photos
2009-03-06 18:08:00 At first they were going to ban them. Now they have decided to allow them.Rep. Steve Gottwalt says his new bill is a compromise between public safety and cultural respect. The Republican introduced a bill in 2007 and again this year that would have banned all headwear in driver's license photos to make them easier for law enforcement to use.It created an uproar among Muslims who said the restrictions would discriminate against people whose religion requires covering their head. The new language in the bill would require driver's license photos to present an image of the full head from top of hair to shoulders -- the same requirements as U.S. passports.Gottwalt says the changes strike a fair balance between ease of identification while allowing religious headwear, including the hijab worn by many Muslim women.SOURCE

Minnesota: Shariah Compliant Mortgages Now Available
2009-03-02 04:23:00 Creeping Sharia alert. A handful of private banks and lending institutions offer Islamic mortgages in the U.S., but Minnesota Housing is the first state agency to offer such a product. The program is the brainchild of Hussein Samatar, director of the African Development Center in Minneapolis."The process is different, but the outcome will look the same," Samatar says. "We wanted to be as conventional as possible, while respecting the tenets of Islam."Samatar, who used to work for Wells Fargo, tried for years to launch Islamic financing. He says the fact that Minnesota Housing has agreed to participate is a nod to the Muslim community's growing economic power.Chicago-based Devon Bank is underwriting the loans for the New Markets program. Devon is one of the largest Islamic lenders in the country. Corporate Counsel David Loundy says he expects the demand for Islamic financing to grow as more Muslims make their home in the U.S. Loundy says Muslims tend to be good risks."If they worked...
The Minnesota Vikings Draft Needs
2009-02-19 04:54:00 The pink elephant in the room is QB. What will the Vikings do at QB? In today’s NFL you have a short window to be great, then a window to rebuild so you can have a short window to be great again. All Day isn’t getting younger. With LT’s latest woes it’s safe to say an RB has 3-8 great years in him. With a run heavy offense and an all around superior, but aging D, the Vikings window in now 2…maybe 3 years. Let’s not forget going into last year and the year before expectations were high with the Vikings and they failed to deliver. To this point the team has underperformed in a very weak NFC North Division. With the league’s #1 rusher you can only blame the offensive play caller or the quarterback to why the offense shuts down in big games (and little one’s, ie. Detroit twice when most teams where winning by 20). I can’t reiterate the play calling failures enough when you consider having the #1 rusher. The rusher makes the passer better. When teams put 8...

Al Franken to be certified as Minnesota Senate wiiner
2009-01-05 14:29:00 Al Franken is the winner in the Senate race in Minnesota. If Republicans are smart, they will let him speak as often as possible. Between Obama, Biden and Franken, a Democratic gaffepalooza is about to erupt. We need only capitalize on it.Once Franken is seated, the Democrats will have 58 seats, with the as yet unresolved Illinois seat providing them a potential 59th.Meanwhile, as it looks like Carolyn Kennedy has the inside track on New York's Senate seat, another potential 2012 target is emerging to go along with Amy Klobuchur, Jim Webb, Claire McCasgill, Bob Casey, Jon Tester and the newly opened seat in Delaware. It's still to early to anticipate the GOP taking the Senate back in 2012 but pickups in 2010 and 2012 will be needed at a minimum.~SonlitA Newt One portfolio http://www.anewtone.com http://www.myspace.com/anewtone- http://www.blogtalkradio.com/an-ewtone http://twitter.com/sonlitknight-

Magically 504 Votes Appear In Minnesota... All For Franken
2008-11-11 17:01:00 This is election fraud on the highest level! Minnesota is becoming to 2008 politics what Florida was in 2000 or Washington State in 2004 -- a real mess. The outcome will determine whether Democrats get 58 members of the U.S. Senate, giving them an effective filibuster-proof vote on many issues. When voters woke up on Wednesday morning after the election, Senator Norm Coleman led Al Franken by what seemed like a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By Wednesday night, that lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday night, it was down to 336. By Friday, it was 239. Late Sunday night, the difference had gone down to just 221 -- a total change over 4 days of 504 votes.Amazingly, this all has occurred even though there hasn?t even yet been a recount. Just local election officials correcting claimed typos in how the numbers were reported. Counties will certify their results today, and their final results will be sent to the secretary of state by Friday. The actual recount won?t even start until Nove...
October 3 Election Analysis
2008-10-04 01:49:00 Updated October 4:Obama is really starting to pull away now. McPalin better do something and fast. They've got nothing to lose at this point, and I expect the full bore of 527's with Revered Wright, William Ayers and anything else they can dredge up. I figure things are going to get awful dirty real fast. To be honest, it's probably McCain's only hope at this point.Pennsylvania looks like it is pulling away for Obama now. Biden is a big hit here. It's a funny state. There's Democratic Philly and Pittsburgh and Pennsyltucky, Pennsylsippi and Pennsylbama in between. A bunch of rural, racist Whites, often Democrats, who love to hunt and ain't voting for no nigger.Still, recent polls are giving Obama up to a 12 point lead. The state has a 1 million Democratic registration advantage so it's really a trap for McCain. The plot was that as long as it was close enough, McCain would be forced to spend a lot of time and money in Pennsylvania, and he'd probably end up losing.McCain's ...

Minnesota and Minneapolis Divorce Lawyers
2008-08-31 13:50:00 This website is for people seeking info about Minnesota or Minneapolis divorce lawyers. It covers such issues as child custody, child support, parenting time, and visitation rights. Child custody proceedings will occur when a divorce is filed. In general, Minnesota leans in favour of joint legal custodyan arrangement in which both parents are involved in the child’s upbringing. However, there are scenarios in which sole legal custody is granted to one parent. These cases typically involve domestic abuse. Physical custody of a child depends mostly on the best interest of the child. This is determined by the following factors: 1. The wishes of the childs parents as to custody 2. The reasonable preference of the child, if the court deems the child to be of sufficient age to express a preference 3. The childs primary caretaker 4. The intimacy of the relationship between each parent and the child 5. The interaction of the child with the parent or parents siblings, and other...
