Meet our latest potential presidential candidate : Lt.General Khairallah ,
2012-01-02 22:13:00
Official photo for Khairallah I think I owe you an apology because I know about this newcomer to the presidential race but I was too lazy to blog about it, anyhow at least we got more news now than just friends chitchat. A former Lt.General called Hossam Khairallah announced his presidential candidacy today in Cairo in Grand Hyatt hotel in a press conference attended by newspapers and TV channels. The presidential program of the former Lt. General that denies to be the candidate of the military is focusing mainly on education and civility of the state. From the name or rather the military rank you will know immediately that we are speaking about military man , a big military man. Well for sure he is a big military man but there is a twist in our tale here. 1945 born Hossam Khairallah is a Yemen war and 1973 war veteran who joined the Egyptian intelligence aka GIS from 1977 till 2005. Lt. General Hossam Khairallah had served in the GIS in the information and estimation unit for y...
Nagham El Halbawy , more than just one case in a critical time
2012-01-01 22:38:00
Nagham Nagham El Halbawy , a 16 years old girl lives in Alexandria who was kidnapped from her house while she was alone on December 29th,2011. It was not the first kidnap or disappearance case in Egypt after the revolution nor it would be the last yet there was something special about Nagham?s case unlike other kidnap case : The political background. Nagham?s case came to the media especially social media?s attention after it was known that she is the younger sister of Sheikh Mohamed ElHelbawy , the coordinator of potential presidential candidate Sheikh Hazem Abu Ismail.  The famous Islamist controversial presidential candidate did  not waste any time and believed that the kidnappers had political motives. ?It has got the state security stamps on it? Abu Ismail claims There were some strange remarks about the kidnap according to her brother Sheikh El Helbawy. The kidnappers did not call up till now to ask for a ransom and there was nothing valuable stolen from their...

Don?t Fence Me Out?

Wait a second. I keep hearing people say that America can’t effectively close our southern boarder and that it would be impossible to build a fence nearly two-thousand miles long. These are the same folks that conveniently leave out the word “illegal” when talking about immigration and never mention the word “assimilate” when discussing people ...

National Security Guards Website Hacked
2011-07-07 06:45:00
The National Security Guards (NSG) website according to PTI is the latest addition to the list of Indian government websites which have fallen prey to hackers. This list includes a subdomain of the NIC website and also the CBI website. However, unlike the NIC hack where Anonymous just put up a message on the homepage of the website, the hackers in this attack seem to have gained access to a certain amount of data as well. To ensure the security of data the passwords of all email accounts have been renewed. The NSG hosts sensitive data like tenders on their servers. The website is operated by the technical wing of the NSG along with assistance from the National Information Centre (NIC). This hack which was first reported on the 3rd of July seems to have gone fairly unnoticed. Even The Hacker News, a website operated by a group called the Indian Cyber Army, didn’t have any coverage on this news. Most hacker groups, after hacking a website announce it publicly on Facebook, Tw...

Our Wheat Saga Follow Up : Wait For Self Sufficiency in 2017
2010-10-29 00:17:00
Do you remember from couple of months ago when the minister of agriculture Amin Abaza and Mr. Gamal Mubarak of NDP told us over and over that it was impossible and it was uneconomical to seek wheat sufficiency like other countries in the world !!?? Do you remember that !!?? Because if you do , then you must know that this week on Tuesday Amin Abaza promised President Mubarak that Egypt will reach to 70% wheat self sufficiency in 2017 , yes 2017 and it is documented officially in the media and the presidential records !! Of course Abaza said before that we could reach 70% self sufficiency after lots and lots of criticism. This is the third minister of agriculture that promises Mubarak we will try to achieve self sufficiency , of course we should not forget that we had only 3 ministers of agriculture in the 29 years of Mubarak?s rule !!?? I wonder if President Mubarak asked the minister of agriculture and the chairman of the agricultural research center about the fate of project ...
Julian Assange On Al Jazeera
2010-10-28 15:43:00
It was not a surprise or a scoop to found the Wikileaks? Julian Assange speaking on Al Jazeera Arabic after the publishing of Iraq logs , it was logic especially that the website chose Al Jazeera from all channels in the world to launch the logs to the Arab world. Julian Assange was interviewed by Ahmed Mansour last night on Al Jazeera news channel for nearly an hour on air from London. Assange was invited to come to Doha for the interview from three weeks ago but he declined and preferred London for security reasons. Assange is aware for the extradition agreements and knows very well how Doha hosts the largest American military base in the region. Ahmed Mansour has good intentions but Assange I believe knows well how the Qatari regime can sell him in one second to the Americans. The man does not deny that he is living a security nightmare. You can watch the interview below in Arabic after the break Julian Assange in Al Jazeera Assange seemed to be sick and yet he came to th...
The Egyptian Refusenik
2010-10-27 20:57:00
Maikel Nabil Sand is an Egyptian activist young man from Upper Egypt , he identifies himself as liberal, secular ,capitalistic,pro-west,pro-Isra-el, atheist.. anti-mandatory military service in Egypt.Maikel refuses to serve the Egyptian army , his time has come and he had to apply on last 22nd of October but he did not show up and he is ready for the consequences ?including a trial and jail sentence? Of course he will not go down without a fight as he launched an international crusade sending emails to international human rights organizations , already he is a political activist so it is not difficult for him to start this crusade. His emails and faxes seemed to catch the attention of the Israeli media and last Sunday we found him speaking in Yediot Ahronot. Of course because this is unusual finding in Egypt , it is translated in English in the Ynet News website. Now his crusade has turned in to a new level , another new level for sure. The Israeli commenters of course are proud and ...

Reader?s Guide To Israeli Newspapers? Political Line
2010-10-27 10:32:00
Noam Sheizaf at +972 magazine has made a wonderful comprehensive reader?s guide to the famous Israeli newspapers  , it is a must read for anyone interested in the Middle Eastern media. I knew some general information about the political lines of Haartez , Yedioth and Maariv but Sheizaf?s info are more than great to understand what the Israelis read and shape / reflect their public opinion. Via Mohamed our traveller within   By the way I am thinking of doing the same thing for the main Egyptian newspapers. How Can You Plot For A Revolution In Egypt If You Are Not There
2010-10-27 01:50:00
Mohamed ElBaradei has got an interview in the daily beast , his interviewer Reza Aslan chose a very interesting headline for that interview ? Plotting a revolution in Egypt !!? Very catchy headline for sure but how can you plot for a real revolution in Egypt if you are not there !!?? I would like to clarify something here I support Dr. ElBaradei  since day one and I will continue to support him, I proudly signed the petition and made my family signed too but I began to be frustrated because of Dr. ElBaradei?s absence from Egypt where he is supposed to be plotting for a revolution against +50 years regime and system. Dr. ElBaradei has become the most famous opposition leader in Egypt according to what I read in several international media websites and yet I feel lately that his fight against that decaying dying rotten regime in Egypt does not seem to be among his busy schedule?s priorities.  Most of the Egyptian people whom he is aware of their misery more than the c...
Robert Fisk Writes About Wikileaks? Iraq Logs
2010-10-25 00:01:00
Robert Fisk has to write about Wikileak?s Iraq logs , who else will !!? The Shaming of America must be read till the end because it is not about the shame America tried to hide but it is about many things our dear old Fisk remembers and discusses including the challenge and the future of the investigative journalism with the existence of Wikileaks and Assange.  Speaking of Simon Hersh I wonder if we will be able to find one day the tapes showing children being sodomized in Abu Gharib which he spoke about leaked like these documents . Like Fisk in the beginning , we knew this all the time because our people in Iraq lived and saw but it is the turn of the world to see and act as well. Unfortunately we are not paying attention as a nation , as in Egypt , as we should to the Iraq Logs , only our regime is happy that Iran and its allies are mentioned , you know it is like Adel Emam?s scene in his play ?An eye witness that saw nothing? { Is my name there!!??}  Egypt?s n...
Where Is The Big Scoop Here ??
2010-10-24 00:05:00
The Israeli TV has said today that in some fake exclusive sense that Mubarak sooner will choose Omar Soliman as his vice president for a year where he can prepare Gamal Mubarak for presidency and as the Egypt Sat 1 news became the joke of the day , this news has become the news of the day as if the Israeli TV is predicting something we did not expect. That scenario is so old and there is nothing new about it , we are aware of this scenario and it is expected it so I do not know where is the scoop or the exclusivity here !!??  We know that as soon the the NDPC circus comes sooner , we will hear similar scenarios for this. The time of considering the Israeli media as a reliable media source is over I am afraid and we have to be very careful. FYI Omar Soliman according to Robert Fisk suffers from heart problems plus Mubarak is not stupid to appoint a popular military man with experience and acceptance from all the world ?seriously all the world seems to fall in love with hi...
Lost in Space : Egypt-Sat 1
2010-10-23 20:50:00
Egypt-Sat 1 , our first manufactured satellite is lost in space  according to what is written in Al Masry Al Youm !! The National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences has lost the control over the satellite since last July 2010. Our friends in Ukraine are helping us to restore it despite this time the satellite seemed to be really lost in space for good !! The GIS is reportedly investigating the matter because this is the fourth times it happens. Ironically we were working on manufacturing Egypt-Sat 2 but it had to halted after the constant problem facing the Egypt-Sat 1 Egyptian team. According to Al Masry Al Youm report many Egyptian engineers had to resign from the Egypt-Sat 1 program due to the technical and administrative program.? you may include financial problems too !!? The loss of the satellite is the joke of the day in Egypt , many are relating this incident to the series of the unfortunate events we are facing in Egypt due to neglect like the theft of t...

Mr.President Please Tear Down This Wall
2009-12-20 09:35:00
At first I did not want to believe the news despite all the indicators showed it was true : Mubarak?s regime which represents and rules Egypt is building an iron wall in the borders between Egypt and Gaza in order to stop the smuggling in to the sector Here is the undisputed proof : A photo from this ugly iron wall under construction. I do not have to guess from where that steel came from : Ezz Steel. I am not convinced with all those fake justification about sovereignty , again where is our sovereignty when Egyptians and tourists were kidnapped from our territories !!?? Where is our sovereignty when we are being humiliated by Prince Turk Al Soud and his notorious wife !!?? The word ?Sovereignty? provokes me nowadays because simply we do not enjoy it anymore thanks to this regime so please enough of the sovereignty talk , let?s be honest and say that this wall is made for Israel?s security by American and French recommendations. I know you will wonder ?French?, what broug...
RIP Hassan El-Toha?amy
2009-12-19 15:00:00
It is strange thing that this man most people do not know his role in Egypt?s political except very few despite he was a loud person or rather an eccentric person. Hassan El-Toha?amy?s role in Egypt started with the revolution or coup of 1952 till camp David. He was close to the United States and Miles Copland because he could not stomach the infidel communists in the USSR. He was the man that brought those millions of dollars to construct the Cairo tower. He was the man that met Moshe Dayan in Morocco secretly , the special envoy to negotiate with the Israelis when we had no negotiations secretly. The man was an X-File himself for sure. May be his strange eccentric personality is behind this neglect , if you read his story well , if you hear it from him or from those who worked with him you will be puzzled and wondered how a strange man like him reached to this position , confident position in those critical times of our national history. Some people will even wonder how Nasser ...
And I Was Right?
2009-12-12 23:26:00
I was right when I said there is something going on in Algeria and the Algerian regime is using the game to divert the people?s attention from something sinister as it is the habit in the third world countries. I was right but I could never ever have imagined what that sinister thing is , it is beyond the usual hereditary scenario . Qatari Al Jazeera is reporting that an Algerian dissident has exposed an American-Algerian agreement to host temporary American bases in the Algerian territories. Algerian political dissident Mohamed El-Arabi Zaiout claimed that the Algerian government used the game to reach for a final agreement with the Americans as they used to refuse hosting permanent bases. They had secret negotiations for months or even for years as the Americans wanted to use more than jails and torture in North Africa especially in the French influence territories. Zaiot claims that the Algerian regime has three terms from its side in order to host the American army tempora...
Egyptian X-Files : On The Human Rights Day
2009-12-10 22:02:00
What is more disturbing than the disappearance of a famous human rights activist on the human rights day in his way to celebrate the international event ?? May be a family that does not know what really happened to to that man for years !! I do not think that there will be  a perfect time  to discuss Mansour El-Kekhia?s disappearance than the international human rights day , after all the human rights activist Kekhia disappeared on the 10th of December 1993 , the human rights day in Cairo near from his hotel. Just like the murder of David Holden , it is not a pure 100% Egyptian X-File , it is an Egyptian-Arab X-File with the following two facts : Dr. El-Kekhia is a Libyan and he disappeared with no trace in Egypt. El-Kekhia disappearance could be considered the tip of the ice-berg in the political personalities disappearance related to the Libyan regime. No one can compete El-Kekhia in his media impact and coverage except Musa El-Sadr . Strangely Musa El-Sadr disappearanc...

Laila Abdel Salam Speaks For The First Time on TV
2009-09-22 10:12:00
Honestly I wish that Mona El-Shazely did that interview with Laila Abdel aka the Real Samia Fahmy who is currently working in Al Ahrar newspaper. Laila Abdel Salam speaks with Amr Adib along Ambassador Dr.Rafaat El-Ansari who had his share in the real spies war. Ambassador El-Ansari has very interesting story which insh Allah will be featured in Egyptian Chronicles after my recovery ;) She revealed more information about her story which is simple and so short , her trip in Italy , it only took about a month or even less to arrest Mario , the Spy of Israel in Egypt , yes he was not in Rome but in Egypt. By the way here is Laila in early 1970s, she looked like Nahed El-Sharif more than Menna Shalby if I may say.
Twitter attack a national security issue
2009-08-06 20:02:00
More at Zennie62.com | Follow me on Twitter! | Get my widget! | Visit YouTube | Visit UShow.com A funny thing - well ok, not so funny thing - happened this morning at 6 am while I slept comfortably and soundly: Twitter was down. Something called a "Denial of Service" which resulted in this message according to TechCrunch: We are defending against a denial of service attack, and will update status again shortly. As of 8:16 PST Twitter was up again, and seems to be fine now, but they're still defending against the attack! What does all this mean? It signals just how vulnerable these small business private sector Internet systems are, and this is a matter of national security. It's far beyond Twitter Phishing, which I talked about here: ...but it underscores the point that Twitter is the constant focus of some kind of attack. Let's not forget that for all of its 44 million visitors last month and its powerful role in the Iran protest, the San Francisco-based company...

National Security Review Under China's New Anti-Monopoly Law
2008-08-29 23:48:00
By Steve Dickinson China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently reported on its plans for forming an interagency committee to review the national security impacts of foreign acquisitions of Chinese companies. Contrary to many of the news reports in both English and Chinese, this is not a new policy adopted by the NDRC. The formation of such a committee is consistent with longstanding China policy and it is required by law. China's Anti Monopoly Law (AML) became effective on August 1, 2008. Article 31 of the AML provides for national security review of foreign M&A transactions as follows: Article 31. If the merger with or acquisition of domestic enterprises by foreign investors or other forms of concentration involving foreign investors concerns national security, in addition to the review for concentration of undertakings in accordance with the provisions of this Law, it shall be examined for national security review in accordance with relevant regulat...

John McCain on Energy Security and Our National Security VIDEO
2008-06-24 21:01:00
ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain delivered the following remarks as prepared for delivery at a town hall meeting in Fresno, CA, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT):Thank you all very much. I appreciate the kind introduction from Jim Woolsey, and the warm welcome to Fresno State. I'm here to listen about energy issues as well as to talk. So let me just offer a few ideas before we begin our discussion. All across this state and nation, people are hurting because the price of gasoline is higher than it should be, and more than many folks can afford. Because of far-off events in the world oil market, a barrel of oil has more than doubled in a year. And the bad effects of that are spreading across our economy. The cost of business is rising, the cost of food and other essentials is rising, the whole cost of living is rising. What isn't rising is the value of your paychecks and the rate of America's economic growth. Back in the 1970's, they used to call this "stagflati...

President Carter is continuing on breaking all the taboos and is saying the truth about the Israel Nuke arsenal , of course many people do not like this , truth hurts sometimes but here is the former president of the United States is saying what we have been saying as Arabs for more 60 years ; watch out for the Israel Nuke arsenal people !! They have 150 nuclear assorted weapons from bombs to rockets to submarines ,you name it but no one care , the IAEA does not inspect nor demand an inspection nor the EU and American administration impose sanctions on Israel !!
