Viom Networks To Cut Back 800 Jobs Due To Uninor’s 2G Fallout

Tata’s Telecom tower joint venture Viom Networks has planned to restructure their business. This could result in a cut of 40% of its workforce across India. That amounts to almost 800 jobs. Consulting firm AT Kearney has recommended that Viom cut back its costs dramatically or risk major problems in staying afloat. Besides Tata, the Kanoria Family, IDFC, SBI-Macquarie, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and Oman Investment Fund are all shareholders in the Viom Networks. The company has not yet confirmed this development but it has been confirmed through various sources that the firm has asked 8 senior executives to resign immediately.
