Premier League (Inglaterra) 17:00 Manchester United - Newcastle United 17 A

Plenty at stake before the J. League takes recess
2008-05-16 04:58:00
The J. League gears up for a five week recess following this weekend's round of action, with plenty at stake for clubs at both ends of the table.Consadole Sapporo kick off the weekend against Nagoya Grampus, and the two sides could hardly be experiencing more contrasting fortunes. Sapporo remain second-from-bottom despite their most recent 2-1 win away at Omiya Ardija. Second placed Nagoya were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Vissel Kobe in their most recent clash, with both of those matches taking place in atrocious conditions as wet weather continues to plague the league. There's a high profile clash at Saitama Stadium as Urawa Reds host Gamba Osaka, and the Reds can thank an errant linesman's flag for their 1-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale at a packed Todoroki Stadium last weekend. Edmilson had opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Urawa, however Kawasaki looked to have equalised through Hiroyuki Taniguchi - only for his effort to be chalked off due to an offside flag, despi...

Everton claimed our rightful place in European football again next season with a convincing win over perenial strugglers Newcastle, who looked a world away from a side that can possibly claim to be anything but exactly that.

Villa Away Support Are They The Scum Of The EPL?
2008-03-03 10:32:00
My first thought as I went home after the game on Saturday, was "If I ever need to visit our second city again before the next millenium, it will be too soon". I admit that it is extreme to label a complete city an utter write off, but after the Martin Taylor episode at St ...

This week has seen an attack upon the FA disciplinary procedures by Middlesbrough Football Club, following the increase in the ban upon ex Gooner Jeremie Aliadiere for raising his hands to Javier Mascherano of Liverpool following a provocation by the Argentinian. The three match ban was increased to four for a frivolous appeal which was ...

The Doc?s late diagnosis: Villa vs Newcastle United
2008-02-11 07:50:00
This match was summed up by two very contrasting images: the first, the wearying sight of Stiliyan Petrov and Olof Mellberg bickering their way through a first half they both failed to come to terms with. The second, the heartening sight of Marlon Harewood's gleeful celebration of John Carew's second half goals. Good teams are built on the spirit shown by Harewood and Carew, and Villa in the second half were a totally different outfit.

Kevin Keegan to return to Newcastle United. The 56-year-old former Manchester City boss managed the Magpies from 1992 to 1997 and will return to St James' Park as Sam Allardyce's successor. The ex-England coach was running his "Soccer Circus" in Glasgow after quitting his job at City in March 2005. Barclays Premier League: Manchester United 6-0 Newcastle United

Manchetser United destroy the Newcastle United by- 6-0 and all six Goal comes fro-msecond half of the match. More wonder about scoreline is Rooney still miss on goal scorer chart. He missed many chances and all credits goes to Given who block many shot of Rooney otherwise United could go over 10-0. First half was score less and United made many chances but couldn't find the net. Referee denied two penalty of United. Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a hat-trick, Carlos Tevez scored a brace and Rio Ferdinand got a goal at the end in the convincing victory.
Manchester United v Newcastle United Preview and Live Score
2008-01-12 13:26:00
Today United play a mangerless Newcastle when they kick off at 17:15. The last time Newcastle beat United at Old Trafford was Ferbruary 1972 and it is not going to help not having a manager.Wayne Rooney is expected to return and start, whilst Tevez could play but i am expecting to see him on the bench. Cristiano Ronaldo has been in top for for United, he has scored 17 goals in his last 16 games.Wes Brown is suspended for this match so O'Shea or Simpson could start.Martins could return from the African Cup Of Nations to play in this match for Newcastle.Carr, Emre and Milner are all back in the squad and could play.Habib Beye and Abdoulaye Faye are away with Senegal and Geremi is away with Cameroon.skysports.com and bbc.co.uk/football are both predicting a 3-0 win to United, so lets hope their right. I am predicting a United win but i am not sure if it is going to be a 3-0 win, possibly a 1-0 or 2-0 win.Manchester United:- Van Der Sar, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Anders...

Who will pilot the Toon Anti-Tardis?
2008-01-10 17:31:00
I would never attend a sci-fi convention, but from I can muster Dr. Who operates from a vast spaceship disguised to appear dramatically smaller. Such clever understatement, or inverted snobbery, lends the Time Lord an air of gravitas, gifts him the element of surprise, and serves to lower expectations. After all, exceedingly few of history's great pioneers have spent their lives housed in telephone boxes ? aside perhaps from 'Thai princess, 26', whose name and phone number adorn all of South London's best. To draw parallel with football, as we invariably must, the Doctor's task is akin to managing Wimbledon in the mid 1980s. Dave Bassett, who steered 'The Crazy Gang' from the old fourth to first division in six remarkable years, seldom suffered the pressures of boardroom expectancy. Plough Lane was a miserable, run-down dog track and there were barely enough fans to fill it. Bumbling along ? looking not unlike a ravaged Peter Davison ? the success of his Wimbledon team was fo...

EPL Round 13: Sunderland AFC vs Newcastle United FC
2007-11-10 14:48:00
Well my alarm didn’t go off but I managed to get up somehow right around 5 AM, and only missed the first 13 minutes of the match. Apparently I didn’t miss much. We are currently at halftime and the game is 0-0. First half highlights include: Chopra missing a couple nice chances and getting a yellow card; Sunderland looking generally the better side, more possession and way more attempts at goal; Nyron going off with what looked like a hamstring injury about 24 minutes in; and Joey Barton delivering some kind of karate kick right at halftime that probably deserved a booking but the referee didn’t see it. Now I’ve got my tea and I’m a little more awake. Ready for Sunderland to take advantage of some of those chances in the 2nd half. (more…)

Another fantastic result for the Toon last night. In what turned out to be a rather exciting game which saw Martins, Cacapa and Milner all get on the scoresheet.
