Stuxnet sophisticated virus is linked to Iran nuclear weapons shutdown

Stuxnet has already been linked to another virus, the Duqu data-stealing trojan, but Kaspersky’s research suggests the cyber weapons program that targeted Iran may be far more sophisticated than previously known. Kaspersky’s director of global research & analysis, Costin Raiu, told Reuters on Wednesday that his team has gathered evidence that shows the same platform that was used to build Stuxnet and Duqu was also used to create at least three other pieces of malware. http://www.reuters.com/article/-2011/12/28/us-cybersecurity-stu-xnet-idUSTRE7BR1EV20111228 NEW YORK – The US and Europe are trying to stopIran, the world’s third-biggest oil exporter, from selling crude. Iran’s response- is to threaten to disrupt ..   US aircraft carrier sails through strategic Strait of Hormuz     US Navy Face-Off with Iran Speed Boats ACTUAL VIDEO … - YouTube ► 3:42► 3:42 www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNL6DyH-_IfAJan 8, 2008 - 4 m...
Roe V. Wade And Obama V. the Nuclear Family
2012-01-23 23:32:00
Dumbo, a/k/a Dim Won, a/k/a President Fifty Seven States, b/k/a Barack Obama is neither principled, intelligent or consistent. To make the thirty-ninth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s war on unborn children, Dumbo said, in part, from CNS News: “As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters,” Obama said. “I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right. Yes the right to abortion is so fundamental that it was regulated by the several states and can be found nowhere in the actual  Constitution. The fact is that Marry Blackmun invented the right to abortion, out of whole cloth. The fact is that every unborn child has a mother, a father, grandparents and a life. Nuclear Energy Markets Tighten: Edward Sterck
2012-01-19 23:00:00
The Energy Report: There hasn’t been much price action in the uranium market since you last spoke with The Energy Report in early September. Does that surprise you at all and what are your expectations for near-, medium- and longer-term market action? Edward Sterck: It doesn’t surprise me particularly. Historically, a lot of utilities were operating on a fairly hand-to-mouth basis in terms of their uranium requirements. The price spike in 2007 was a bit of a wakeup call for utilities. Since then, they’ve been building up some buffer inventories and are pretty fully covered for near-term requirements. By near term, I mean for the next nine months or so. Consequently, they can currently choose to be quite price . . . → Read More: Nuclear Energy Markets Tighten: Edward Sterck
China to Aid Saudi Arabia in Nuclear Power Development
2012-01-19 17:18:00
Ever since the end of World War Two, the U.S. has come to regard Saudi Arabia as almost its exclusive oil producing enclave. In February 1945, after the Yalta Conference with Soviet General Secretary Iosif Stalin and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, on his way home U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and King Ibn Saud met aboard the New Orleans-class heavy cruiser U.S.S. Quincy in the Suez Canal’s Great Bitter Lake. During the meeting, instigated by Roosevelt, he and Ibn Saud concluded a secret agreement in which the U.S. would provide Saudi Arabia military security, including military assistance, training and a military base at Dhahran in Saudi Arabia, in exchange for secure access to supplies of oil. . . . → Read More: China to Aid Saudi Arabia in Nuclear Power Development
Slovakia’s Nuclear Schizophrenia – Shut Down, Continue As Usual, or Bol
2012-01-06 18:59:00
The implosion of the USSR in December 1991 produced massive economic “collateral damage” in its East European allies, as they simultaneously sought both to assert their new-found independence and draw closer to their potential European allies on the western side of 1946’s “Iron Curtain.” Following the euphoria amity quickly devolved down to practical issues, one of which was that the European Union was leery of welcoming new members after the collapse of Communism that relied on power from Soviet-era nuclear power facilities, especially in the wake of the April 1986 nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in Ukraine. Accordingly, the last two decades have devolved into a series of unseemly squabbles between Brussels and new Eastern European members, with the EU demanding the prompt shutdown of Soviet-era nuclear power plants, while governments east of Berlin plead understanding and extended timelines to shut down the facilities that provide major electrical input as they search for ...

Credibility of nuclear response
2011-12-13 08:17:00
Israel’s nuclear capability is tentative in a sense. The problem is not only just the Jewish cowardice which precludes the government from using effective weapons. The problem is, we do not know if the weapons are effective. No fewer than five to six tests are required to perfect a bomb’s design, but Israel conducted a single test only, decades ago. All the newer designs are completely untested and might produce a negligible explosion only. Israel does not want to risk her deterrence by revealing a faulty design. The claims of an unnecessarily large number of nuclear weapons (around 200) suggest doubts about their operational capacity. Compared to Israel, other nations are highly successful. Encouraged by Pakistani nuclear proliferation, scores of countries are racing toward the bomb. Nuclear proliferation is unstoppable because the sixty-year-old technology is simple. Two hundred years ago, no one could have imagined terrorists owning Stinger missiles. Decades from now...

IEA Report Advises Governments to Embrace Renewables and Nuclear
2011-11-15 16:40:00
The good news is that on 8 November the International Energy Agency released its 2011 "World Energy Outlook." While it will cheer nuclear advocates, overall the report makes for grim reading. Pulling no punches, the report states at the outset, "There are few signs that the urgently needed change in direction in global energy trends is underway." Stripped of its cautious language, the IEA report essentially noted that should present trends continue, the world’s governments through a lack of progressive initiative embracing alternative energy sources would continue to rely on ‘tried and true" fossil fuels, resulting in increased pollution, more fossil-fuel dependency and increasingly upward energy prices. For environmentalists, this is all good news, but the report contained . . . → Read More: IEA Report Advises Governments to Embrace Renewables and Nuclear
