The Sathya Sai Organization?s Treatment of Dissidents: A Desertion of Ethi
2012-04-23 13:34:00
Among other reasons, there is a much less reported reason for the success, at a very deep and far-reaching level, of the former Sathya Sai Baba devotees' long and gruelling exposure of Sathya Sai Baba and his worldwide cult. This has been the response from non-devotee family members, friends, neighbors, and school, college, university, professional, trade and other and associates of devotees. They had no compunction in consulting the internet and in judging the critical offerings on the basis of commonsense and reason. Some of them saw the almost daily attacks upon us, and how viciously set-upon and libeled have been those who have made great personal, financial and other forms of sacrifice in getting the abuses investigated by responsible world media, the United Nations, and so on Profoundly blinded devotees would not hear a word said against their idol. He was God walking the earth. He could do as he pleased. One had to love him for his mystery. And not question his plethora o...
Organizing The Road Trip
2012-03-05 12:00:00
The Road Trip.  Part of the Great American Military-Family Experience, right?  We do it to PCS across the country.  We do it to visit family and friends who we moved away from so many years ago, a visit home.  We do it to for some R&R, to get out and see parts of the country so many American families will never see.  The Road Trip, it is part of the 'American Military Family' definition. So how do you prepare for such a great part of your experience as a military-family?  I recently ran across some great posts that I thought I would share with you.  Whether you will be travelling next week or not for a few months put these ideas away.  After all an organized-trip is a smooth-trip! Organize The Packing List You can either start with a pre-made list that you can buy like the one below or (more economically) make one similar to this and print it on your home computer: Source: via on ...

Occupy is a movement, not an organization The ?straw man? is one of the mainstays of dishonest argument. It is the art of making your opponent out to be something that he or she is not, and then arguing against that ?straw man? depiction instead of arguing against what your opponent is really saying. Organization Accomplished
2012-01-18 00:10:00
In a fit of apparent OCD over the weekend (and some inspiration from my wife) I finally got around to sorting through and organizing my herb and spice collection. I took the doors off the cabinets and added a couple of removeable shelf/organizers to each shelf to create a new layout. I think it may be the first time I actually like the way that my collection is organized and displayed. Best of all, for the most part, all the common spices are immediately available.  In the past (up until Sunday) my spice collection has been hidden behind closed cabinets, and as every spice stayed in it's own package, the lot was criminally disorganized. In fact the collection is actually taking up less space in my kichen that it did before - and it adds a great apothecary quality to the kitchen that I think I love.  I still have to actaully create some kind of order for the spiced and do some trim and finishing to make everything completed. but I think I am really happy with it.

... of a clean wall. As I mentioned in my post about personal goals for 2012 one of those is to get this house organized!  (Personal Goals)  It actually leaves me giddy with excitement to open up the calendar each day to see what needs to be done as I travel along the journey of 365 days to decluttering and organizing.  Crazy, I know. But today I 'decluttered the top of my cabinets' (which my cabinets don't have a top - they meet at the kitchen ceiling so I cleaned the top of my frig instead.)  It was an easy two-minute job.  Hmmm... I got looking around for something else to help me feel accomplished and I saw the dirt, grease, grime, years of splatters and fingerprints on my walls.  Seriously, who has time to clean walls?  (I am oh so delinquent in my cleaning abilities you will quickly learn in this series of posts.)  Seeing as my 'job for the day' took less time then I expected I sprayed my cleaning ...
Personal Goals
2012-01-02 02:40:00
New Years Resolutions.  A yearly tradition.  A list we come up with to make us feel good, look good but easy to forget all about come March or April. So instead of New Years Resolutions I have come with a list of Personal Goals.  I make them and keep them for my work-life at  It makes sense to do lay them out in my personal life; not just a way to make me feel better or look better but a means of lifting myself up. These are five of my personal goals for this year: 1.  Stay in better touch with my grandparents.  Send Pop an email every week. Send a letter to Grandpa and Grandma every month. 2.  Bake less out of a box.  Make brownies and cakes from scratch.  Enjoy the time in the kitchen with the kids and away from the ding of the computer. 3.  Continue learning about gardening and build an even better garden this year.  We love pulling tomatoes, corn and carrots from the freezer...

2011-12-27 21:42:00
I have a confession.  I love being organized.  You wouldn't really know it when you walk in to my house.  We have had the pleasure of living in the same house for 10 years. (Clearly, I'm a National Guard spouse and not Active Duty.)  In those ten years my eight-year old step son has turned 18.  I have given birth to three boys.  My husband has grown his own private-practice and works 15 hour days.  I'm quite sure the family plots daily against my need to be organized. My junk drawer has spawned and over-taken three drawers in my kitchen.  It is bad.  My basement some how became a great place to (quite literally) throw things when we didn't know where to put it.  The boys bedroom (ages 6 and 9) was impassable.  Like a winter blizzard of toys. And I settled into this serious funk.  Defeated.  Unable to handle the balance of work / mother / wife / Household 6.  Woe. is. me.&n...

Sathya Sai Organization Shields Its Accused Members From Investigation
2011-10-13 03:13:00
This lack of speaking up, of questioning, profoundly ails the organization. It is also why, for example, so many costly drives in luxurious venues fail. See: ?Secret Swami? Cult Recruits At Prime Public Venues Those of us who have stood forth have often been assailed by Sai Baba activists such as Gerald Moreno, of New Mexico, USA, who deride Sai Baba's accusers for not having succeeded in court actions. However, the difficulties the victims face are formidable. Many of them wish to hide what they regard as their sense of shame. They do not wish to suffer discrimination against them in their personal or professional lives. Many have friends or relatives still closely associated with the Sathya Sai Organization. Sadly, many of them will not reach out for professional counseling, even though offered excellently qualified professional counseling. These and other formidable obstacles are familiar to all those familiar with the years of denial and cover up in the case of such institu...

Each of us is responsible for his or her own actions. Irrespective of any mitigating circumstances. Or his miracles. And yet here, ...

Is Sathya Sai Organization ?Education? Really Education?
2011-03-24 22:29:00
There are many means by which the Sathya Sai Organization spreads its influence in communities throughout the world.  In regard to education, one is in-house, and introduces children of Sai devotees to the major world faiths, but emphasises primary faith in Sathya Sai Baba as God fully incarnate on earth at this time, and living in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh ...

Barach Obama?s Visit To India: Will Sathya Sai Baba?s Organization Try To C
2010-11-01 04:27:00
To Attention: Anita Doll, Public Affairs Officer, US Embassy, Canberra, Australia. Dear Ms Doll,I write as an international coordinator of former followers of India's most famous religious leader, Sathya Sai Baba. The wish expressed here is that President Barach Obama's visit to India is not in any way used by the extremely powerful Sathya Sai Baba elements or sympathizers who occupy virtually every major power echelon in India. The way in which, with the assistance of senior diplomats, such usage was averted in the case of the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair visit to India is recorded here: Tony Blair Was to Visit Sai Baba. Plan Thwarted. We made successful representations to the UK government, which led - with almost last-minute advice from the British High Commission in Delhi to the then British Prime Minister Tony Blair - to the cancellation of a Blair visit to Sathya Sai Baba. Blair was within minutes of proceeding to Sathya Sai Baba's establishment at Whitefie...
Sathya Sai Organization Spurns Leave-takers Whom It Formerly Honored For De
2010-05-20 02:37:00
One of two documents addressed which prominent ex-office bearers in the Sathya Sai Organization have addressed to Sathya Sai Baba's top officials is: "Towards Public Accountability and Due Investigation: A Formal Open Appeal To 'The Prashanti Council'" The so-called 'Prashanthi Council' is the ruling body over all Sathya Sai Baba instrumentalities. There was not even the courtesy of acknowledgement. It mattered nothing that signatories had given decades of the utmost dedicated service in his name. Or that they reflected the feelings of a great many who have, prompted by the keenest ethical principle, left Sathya Sai Baba and his organization. At the head of the international Sathya Sai Organization is Dr Michael Goldstein, of Corvena, California, USA. Here he is, caught by a BBC hidden camera (See: The BBC's 'The Secret Swami' - A Revision ):

Standing Up To Cultic Monoliths. (Sathya Sai Baba Organization Example)
2010-03-16 23:33:00
Confronted by the smallest questioning of Sathya Sai Baba, his defenders commonly refer to instances such as the miracles he is supposed to have performed. Or indeed those phenomena which have happened beyond his physical presence but been related to him in some way. Yet there is much proof that he routinely fakes these performances. Many of his devotees know that he has bungled various "miracles"; however, they take refuge in such notions as that he is only testing their faith. They will not examine the large corpus of evidence that exposes him, as the BBC did with its cameras in 2004. See: BBC Cameras Catch Sai Baba Cheating With Gold Sivalingam. Cultic Behaviour and Lack of Accountability (Sathya Sai Organization Exampl
2009-12-21 21:52:00
In mid 1982, at Puttaparthi, I spoke to two prominent devotees about concerns being raised sub voce that Sathya Sai Baba had been engaged in sexual activities with young males. One of the reports was that he been involved in such activities since he was young, and that this was quite common knowledge within Puttaparthi and district. The two were Richard Bayer, then a high official in the Sathya Sai Organization, organization, and (the late) Howard Murphet, Australian journalist and renowned author of several books on Sai Baba. Murphet was typically gracious but Bayer was shockingly rude, chastising me for daring to breathe such a topic, then turning angrily on his heel and striding away. Bayer's deplorable behaviour implied that one may not, with any trust, raise issues with Sathya Sai Baba's handpicked leaders.
The Sathya Sai Organization: Almost overnight, dissenters treated as demons
2009-12-11 22:13:00
Hard questions were being raised. It was not enough, as so many devotees do when there is a process of questioning, to assume, somehow, the unworthiness of those who question. In that direction the psychological factor of being in-denial is all too likely to kick in. Honest questions merit honest answers. During twenty-five years of deep devotion, I underwent many wonderful experiences, but, in some respects, facing the questions was not one of them. (The great benefits of doing so and I would like to address that aspect at another time). In common with so many former devotees and other critics around the world, as I began to hear the direct testimony, and, in other cases, from parents and close friends of those who had been affected, the experience was gut-wrenching. Indeed one of the ways in which the scandal that is Puttaparthi has become ever more widely known is because those who have left it have sought spiritual guidance from other religious organizations of various kinds.

(Late) Ron and Peggy Laing: Deeply Alienated From Sathya Sai Organization
2009-11-13 23:44:00
Even before the worldwide onslaught of revelations - greatly facilitated by the sudden, dynamic growth of the Internet - of Sathya Baba's serial and widespread sexual abuse of boys and young men (and other abuses far beyond), well-loved devotees like Ron and Peggy Laing (UK) saw that Sathya Sai Baba's worldwide organization did not bear fair and reasonable scrutiny. Ron Laing was in the unusual position of being the only non-Indian (at the time) on the Sathya Sai World Council. It appears that, among the Laings other grave concerns was the extremely rude and autocratic conduct of the then world head of the Sathya Sai Organization, Indulal Shah. It was the latter who summarily sacked two widely-respected UK organization heads, Lucas Ralli and Aime Levy, simply because they disagreed with him.

Is your agency organization a circle or a stick?
2009-08-10 06:36:00
Since leaving the field of full-time journalism many years ago, I’ve worked at a couple agencies, have applied for jobs it many others and have talked with folks at, again many others. So, I’ve gained some knowledge about how agencies can organize their client teams. I’m no expert, but know what I like and what seems to work. At one agency I worked at, the client team was structured pretty much like a circle: The client was in the middle and the entire account team around the client with each person having first-hand knowledge of client needs and access to the main client contact. At another agency, there definitely was a hierarchy — kind of like a stick in the mud: Most of the information came flowing down from the top level account person to the rest of the team. Sure, there was some client contact via meetings, but not much — unless you were in account management. Any questions I had, had to go up the line. One time, I emailed the client contact &mda...

What Role does Design Play within Your Organization?
2009-05-20 19:24:00
Designers often wonder or whine about how their work is not recognized, accepted or even respected in their organization. What many designers don't realize is how they or their designs are treated has to do with how the discipline of design is viewed within their organization. While most of the time I reference organizations that have in-house design teams, most of the topics of our discussion today can also apply to consultancies looking to service organizations that buy design services. There are many levels of how Design is viewed or integrated within an organization. This is what I like to call ?The Design Functionality Axis? as illustrated above. The Axis stretches from a low level Supplier relationship at the base of the triangle to a Strategic Design Leadership relationship. In the next few paragraphs, I hope to explain in detail what it means for a company to operate at these different Design functional levels, what designers working at these levels can expect and s...

Sathya Sai Organization: World Communities Need To Treat This Sect Cautious
2009-04-30 00:10:00
Key leaders of the international Sathya Sai Organization, and their often unsuspecting and decent rank-and-file, would link up with you, smile happily with you, act in a manner that has every appearance of professional and ethical responsibility. They seek to enter into shared endeavours with you in regard to your schools, civic and religious organizations, sporting organizations, your municipal, state and central governments, etc. They do worthy works of social uplift, but in fact they have agendas that they keep from you salient information - that you have every right to know - under tight seals of prohibition as instructed by the guru and his core servitors.
Sathya Sai Organization: Factors Far Beyond Known Critiques Undermine It
2009-04-01 23:53:00
Some, in their great sense of betrayal by Sai Baba and his international Sathya Sai Organization, have poured out their anguish to various widely-respected groups in the community, including to their leaderships. This was bound to happen. For an example of how the Sai Organization - while strongly cloaking their agendas of working for a Sathya Sai Baba-ruled world - attempts to work its way into both religious and civic mainstreams
Sathya Sai Baba Organization?s Betrayal of Love and Compassion
2009-03-20 06:59:00
Many Sathya Sai Baba devotees have betrayed their memories and allowed to be constantly set upon, vilified, demeaned, defamed and libeled those whom they had so long loved, honored and worked side-by-side with. Factors which prevent a wider former devotee visibility on the Internet or in the law courts are briefly dealt with in this article. The case of the principled resignation of the first head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Australia, Terry Gallagher of Kyama, New South Wales, is cited, with some excerpts from, and a link to, his testimony against Sathya Sai Baba.
Sathya Sai Organization Libels Those Who Have Left It
2009-03-17 00:20:00
It pleases Sai Baba's defenders on the internet and elsewhere, grossly to represent those former devotees active in bringing many allegations about Sai Baba and his cult to international light. It portrays former devotees as but "a small handful of disgruntled" individuals. there are many in the Sathya Sai Organization who suppress a palpable fact: namely, that many of those who have left it, having investigated the allegations - particularly in their own Sai centers - were held in high esteem for decades.
Sathya Sai Baba and his Organization Permit Attacks On Ex-followers
2009-03-14 11:30:00
That Sathya Sai Organization members can turn such a blind eye, and so stultify their hearts, and yet still claim to be loving and truthful shows them to be a group that communities and institutions throughout the world need to be most wary of. As previously chronicled,Sai Baba's and his organization's hidden agenda is that he is to take over the world and rule it before circa CE 2022. Devotees are told not to mention this in any public interfaces
