Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Goes Social!
2012-01-25 07:29:00 Social Media especially Twitter is a great tool for politicians to interact with their supporters and gain national outreach quite easily. We have seen the Obama Government make full use of it to reach out to people. Many politicians are now taking up Twitter to cast their thoughts, engage with lay people and speak their mind. We have also seen have Team Anna leveraged Twitter to reach out to supporters. This is a positive trend towards openness and transparency. The Swedish Government lets one of its citizens tweet as @sweden every week. We are not there yet but we are making good strides. It is being reported that Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s Office has now registered itself on the popular micro-blogging site. The PMO’s twitter account will have regular updates on the Prime Minister’s programme in real time. Currently, there are only 4 tweets but their following has reached 11,000 people. The tweets are about Bravery Awards function that was held recently. Pankaj...

President Obama, Prime Minister Cameron plugging Goose Island 312
2010-07-22 23:45:00 John Hall, president of Goose Island Beer Company, is having a great summer. President Barack Obama has called his brewery's 312 wheat ale "outstanding" and even gifted Prime Minister David Cameron with some last month. They apparently made a bet regarding the outcome a certain USA-England match in the World Cup. But rather than money, they bet beer. At the G-20 Summit last month, the two men anted up on their bet, deciding to both exchange beer in light of the match ending in a tie. "It was a big surprise to us," John Hall told me this afternoon when I called him to chat. "We didn't' know anything about it until our friends called and told us we saw...

A Prime Minister of An Arab Country
2009-12-13 10:47:00 I think Saad Al Hariri is the youngest prime minister in the Arab world and he will not be that good like the rest of his counterparts in the Arab world too. Please watch this video below from his speech in front of the Lebanese parliament after the long birth of his cabinet. The prime minister of Lebanon can?t read Arabic right !!?? This video is making fun of him with scene from the famous 1970s play ?The Children have grown up? where Said Saleh reads the letter from his father?s mistress and can?t complete it because he can?t read actually!! Turkish Prime Minister Defends Actions Towards Court
2008-05-26 08:27:00 Prime Minister Recep Erdogan defended the actions of his Justice and Development Party(AKP in the present conflict with the Constitutional Court of Turkey. He told women delegates to the AKP that his party is not the one responsible for the current crisis over threats by the Constitutional Court to declare the AKP leaders as violating the constitution by their efforts to impose Muslim laws upon the secular nation. Erdogan sharply denied there was any such attempt, and he emphasized his belief in separation of powers and his respect for the “principle of the supremacy of law which applies to everyone.” A court statement released last week charged the Erdogan government of attempting to stack the court system with judges who support their points of view. It also charged his administration is endeavoring to influence the current closure case dealing which seeks to close down the AKP. A spokesperson had responded to the court statement by claiming the behavior of the courts ...

Jamaica's Prime Minister Interviewed on HARDtalk
2008-05-20 23:19:00 I just watched an interview with Prime Minister Bruce Golding on HARDtalk, an interview talkshow on the BBC. Just watching the program alone took me through various types of emotions and I would even say mental states. Why is it that certain programs always dig at the negative news and information only? It is for that same reason I started a website called Jamaicapage.com even before I started this blog to focus more of the POSITIVE news and information that happens in Jamaica. I am sure I have referred to posts there in the past. Prime Minister of Jamaica - Bruce Golding Mr golding handled himself well and I must comment him for standing up the the tough questions related to the economic situation in Jamaica, crime and violence and human rights. It's not a matter of political affiliation as I have never voted before and I consider myself politically neutral. I have always admired Mr Golding's ability to keep his composure and tone, speaking clearly while getting his point acros...

Andrews guests this week are David Cameron, David Miliband and Michael Palin. The sad thing is that if Michael Palin stood for office, he would win by a landslide - do you know anyone who doesn't like him? If I was a betting man (which I am occasionally) I would put my money on Miliband to be the next PM, followed closely by Cameron.
