Queen Elizabeth ?manipulated? by omnipresent Sathya Sai Baba?
2009-10-15 14:40:00 In a remarkably ill-advised propaganda web page posted by the Australian Sathya Sai Organization, the claim was made, virtually, that the Queen of England was manipulated by the self-proclaimed omnipresent, omnipotent Sathya Sai Baba… as is seen in the last sentence in the screen capture of parts of the webpage as shown below – which ...

Queen Elizabeth Throws Down For The World?s Largest Wind Turbine
2008-05-22 21:36:00 It’s not just Prince Charles that gets to enjoy all those cool, green toys. Queen Elizabeth has decided to invest some serious cash in the world’s largest wind turbine — a 7.5 megawatt monster. I’ve seen some 1.5mw behemoths that were gigantic, so this thing must be massive. Now, of course, we don’t imagine the Queen herself ...

Queen Elizabeth II Descended from the Prophet Muhammad
2008-03-04 20:44:00 As odd this may sound, it is the truth. 2008-01-20 14:42:00 To the citizens of the United States of America:In light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. Her Sovereign Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories (excepting Kansas, which she does not fancy).Your new prime minister, Tony Blair, will appoint a governor for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed. To aid in the transition to a British Crown Dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:1. You should look up "revocation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. Queen Elizabeth?s Handshake
2007-12-03 12:15:00 The other day I saw an interesting cartoon in the local daily newspaper of Queen Elizabeth shaking hands with an Aids victim for the first time in Uganda. What was interesting was the cartoon putting emphasis on her hands where she wore black gloves as she shook the person’s hand. I think the subtle message that was being passed in the cartoon was that she did not want to “contaminate” her hands. The gloves might have been fashion accessories to complement her outfit but for some people they might have interpreted it differently. Queen Elizabeth was in Uganda to attend the Commonwealth heads of Government meeting. You can read the news item of her visit in Uganda here Share This

Retro Couple of the Day: Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip
2007-11-19 17:06:00 Photo source: China DailyOh happy day! Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh (when did he stop being referred to as Prince Philip?) celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary today at the Westminster Abbey in London. Elizabeth was the first monarch to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary. Over 2,000 people made up the congregation which included couples who married on the same day 60 years ago. The Queen, now 81, and the Duke, now 86, tied the knot on Nov. 20 in 1947. Well, of course it lasted this long: it's not like either of them could ask for a divorce! You just know they were thinking to themselves at the ceremony, "If your personal ass wiper forgets to put the toliet seat down again I'm going to take a flying leap off the London Bridge!"

Cunard Announces Plans For the Next Queen Elizabeth Vessel
2007-10-11 14:56:00 Cunard has launched a bit of a surprise with its announcement of building a new cruise ship called the Queen Elizabeth. Surprising to me due to all the pomp and circumstance regarding the reitrement of the QE2 in a sale to Dubai. That being said, its always a pleasure to see Cunard introduce new additions to their historic fleet. Insiders are happy to once again be headed toward a 3 cruise ship fleet. Cunard Lines tradition dates back over 150 years for transatlantic service, and I’m sure when this Queen Elizabeth cruise ship is launched in the Fall of 2010, it will proudly continue that service. Cunard Line signed an agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of the new 2092-passenger ocean liner, which will be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard for approximately $700 million. The new 92,000-ton liner, to be named “Queen Elizabeth,” will be the second largest Cunarder the company has ever built. Carol Marlow, President ...

Bush Insults Queen Elizabeth
2007-05-08 17:54:00 I can't make this stuff up, lol! In a speech honoring Queen Elizabeth and celebrating the US alliance with Britain, the Chimperor misspoke and insinuated that Her Majesty was about 200 years older than she actually is. Citing the bicentennial celebrations in which the Queen participated, Bush said..."The American people are proud to welcome your majesty back to the UnitedStates, a nation you've come to know very well. After all you've dined with 10U.S. presidents. You've helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in 17 -- in1976,"The Queen shot him a look that was absolutely hilarious, and Bush tried to save face. There was a pause in the speech during which the two exchanged facial expressions, and Bush continued..."She gave me a look that only a mother could give a child," Bush said as thecrowd burst into laughter."This is just another in a long list of incidents where Bush has embarrassed himself and, by extension, the United States. Kudos to the Queen for putting him in hi...

Queen Elizabeth the original Celebrity Label?
2007-05-06 12:07:00 Whose bright idea was it for the queen to visit USA now and meet with the hated Bush? Even the queen looked disgusted sitting with Cheney! The 2 together is sickening and speaking of sickening I read in the Observer this morning that the queenie had her personal surgeon with her? Who is paying for that at a time when we hear there may have to be rationing of health provision. I wonder how many fertility treatments the cost of her personal surgeon might pay for. Does anyone know how many others has the queen brought with her on her trip to visit Bush? Has anyone measured her carbon footprint for the trip? The Americans seem bemused by the whole visit. I wonder what they male of her ‘mother of the bride’ style clothes, that peculiar British ‘church of England’ style some people want to wear for some reason I can not fathom. When I see her picture I keep thinking whose wedding is it now? Celebrity labels are taking off so perhaps we've all missed something and the mother of brid...

Britain's Queen Elizabeth plans to make the royal family greener.
2007-04-03 12:19:00 Following advice from her son Prince Charles, the queen wants to turn the royal palaces into 'models of green efficiency' and hire advisers to reduce her carbon footprint. A Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed: 'We are talking to a number of organisations about our carbon footprint to reduce the royal household's impact on the environment. It is now part and parcel of the management policy here.' Palace consultants will reportedly advise a reduction in the use of helicopters, chartered planes and trains, to decrease carbon emissions. The queen and her husband Prince Philip made 380 trips in Britain and 45 overseas last year, while the royal train covered 9,8000 miles. Environmental campaigners Friends of the Earth have urged the queen to use energy efficient light bulbs in Buckingham Palace - which has 40,000 lights - and change cars. The queen currently uses two Bentley limousines and two Rolls-Royces. Plans have also been reported for an energy-eff...
