Suppe der Woche: Gewürzte Pastinakensuppe
2009-12-18 18:26:00
Click here for the posting in English. ==========REZKONV-Rezept - RezkonvSuite v1.4Titel: Gewürzte PastinakensuppeKategorien: Suppe, VegetarischMenge: 6 Portionen Zutaten 1Stich Butter1  Zwiebel, in Ringe geschnitten2Zehen Knoblauch, geschnitten1klein. Stück Ingwer, geschält, gewürfelt6groß. Pastinaken, geschält, grob gewürfelt1Teel...
Easy Spinach Lasagna Recipe
2009-12-12 17:10:00
Lasagna consists of cooked pasta that is layered with meat or vegetables, cheese, and tomato sauce.  Most traditional versions can be a little calorie rich , but I will show you a way to create a much lighter version.  By making a few ingredient substitutions, which include using reduced fat cheeses, wheat pasta, ground turkey and adding vegetables, this Italian favorite can become a much healthier dish. ...

The origin of the Shoofly/Shoo-Fly Pie/Shoe Fly recipe is debatable but several seem to agree that it’s a Pennsylvania Dutch original. The name, Shoofly, Shoo-Fly, or Shoe Fly appears to have derived from the fact that hundreds of years ago, baking was done in a large outdoor oven and the pies were invariably cooled ...

Tridoshic Dal (recipe)
2009-09-15 06:17:00
Oops! It almost slipped my mind to let you all know the wonderful dal recipe that I used with yesterday’s Dosas. This Tridoshic dal comes from a cookbook that I’ve been using for years called The Ayurvedic Cookbook. I’m always interested in learning about the culinary traditions and philosophies of other cultures. Eastern cuisines in particular often fixates on the concept of warming and cooling foods. Maintaining a balance of the two within a meal, or strategically stimulating or calming ones system where imbalance is detected. This approach to balance ... Daring Cooks: Indian Dosas (recipe)
2009-09-14 06:33:00
Finally! I have completed (and posted) a Daring Cooks Challenge on time! I have been cooking along with this most recent adjunct to the Daring Bakers community but have always ended up missing the deadlines for one reason or another. No more! This time around the challenge was Indian Dosas. I’ve made dosas before but this was my first time doing so with gluten-free flour. Two suggested accompaniments were also given; a curried chickpea filling and a coconut curry gravy. I decided to use the recommended filling but broke away ... Ensalada Chilena (recipe)
2009-09-13 06:01:00
This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Summit Of The Americas Earlier this year when Trinidad hosted the Summit of the Americas, I came up with the idea to try to cook my way through the recipes of the attending nations. That never quite materialized in the timely manner that I had envisioned. This recipe was one of those. This simple tomato and onion salad is a customary accompaniment to meals in Chile. Its name echoes not only its popularity in that country, but also the fact that ... Zucchini Rice Casserole
2009-09-13 00:00:00
Helmut and Paul made this Zucchini Rice Casserole adapted from Cooking Light. This recipe serves 8. You may halve the recipe easily. For solo dining, you may filled this in 1-cup ramekins and freeze them just before the baking process. This way, you can bake the individual servings when needed. Otherwise, you can bake it first and portion them into single serving plastic containers and freeze for later consumption. You just have to reheat them in the microwave. The Zucchini Rice Casserole is a creamy and rich and I'll bet your kids will love this comfort food. They will not even noticed that it's made with healthy zucchini.

Sarina?s Cranberry Almond Slaw (recipe)
2009-09-07 06:06:00
Salads in Trinidad are traditionally a disheartening affair that leaves you wondering why the cook/establishment even bothered. Two wilted lettuce leaves, a force-ripe watery slice of tomato, and some slivers of cucumber served either unadorned, or swimming in some vague mystery oil with specks of pepper flecked throughout. All that’s missing is a headstone for your plate. Most people down it ASAP so that they can focus on the ‘real’ part of their plate, or they simple leave it behind. For this reason, I don’t take it personally when guests ... Autumn Beef Stew Recipe
2009-08-24 01:17:00
Most Swedish kids return to schools today after their 10-week-long summer vacation. It's their first day of the autumn term. The summer season is definitely over and autumn is knocking at our door. The sun does no longer brighten the nights and lengthen our sightseeing days. It?s getting colder and darker. And we get an appetite for warm meals such as soups or stews. Making this beef stew is not time consuming and it does not require hours standing over a hot stove. INGREDIENTS: serves 2 * 300 grams tender beef stew meat (preferably young elk) * 5 shallots * 250 ml (1 cup) yellow chanterelles (prepared by using the "dry saute" method ). * 300 ml cream * 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce® * 1 tablespoon beef fond (or beef broth concentrate, or 1 beef stock cube) * 1 tablespoon mustard * 1 tablespoon tomato purée * butter for frying * salt and pepper to taste * fresh parsley, for garnish METHOD: 1. Cut the beef stew meat into small bite size pieces. 2. Brown the meat...
Joghurt-Vanilleeis
2009-08-21 15:35:00

Sangria recipe: The secret to a perfect pitcher
2009-08-12 02:10:00
(Tribune file photo)By Alpana SinghI'll be the first to admit there are times the weather is just too hot and humid to enjoy a traditional glass of wine. During the dog days of summer when the mercury rises to uncomfortable levels, I want something cold, fruity and refreshing. Nothing fits the bill better than a festive pitcher of sangria. There is no perfect recipe for sangria. It is typically made from red wine, fruit juices, soda water, chunks of fruit, brandy or rum (sometimes), and spices such as cinnamon. A white version--or sangria blanco--also can be made using a light bodied white wine that has not been aged in oak barrels. You also can make sparkling sangria using Spanish cava...

Suppe der Woche: Blumenkohlsuppe mit Belugalinsen und Schnittlauch
2009-08-10 11:14:00
Click here for the posting in English.

==========REZKONV-Rezept - RezkonvSuit...
