Blue Ridge Christian News publisher Steve Parker got the town council to issue a proclamation promoting "Pray The Whistle." So much for separation of church and state. Parker says he was annoyed at the hourly whistles 24/7. But then "God put it in my heart that instead of getting annoyed at the whistle I should use it as a reminder to pray." Ten downtown businesses near the CSX tracks kicked in money to sell T-shirts, buttons, and pins. Oh, and there's a pre-written prayer for the faithful.

First up, Dupri will receive the Quincy Jones Lifetime Achievement Award at the 21st Annual Soul Train Music Awards being taped in Pasadena, CA on March 10, 2007. Then one month later, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will present honor JD with his sixth award as Songwriter of the Year Award during the 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards.
