We know, too, via strong former devotee contacts with those who have roles at high levels, that, though there are those in foreign service who regret it, diplomats have been told "not to rock the boat" on the Sathya Sai Baba issue. "the pro-Sai extremist Joe Moreno claims that ?anti-Sai activists? withheld the transcript of the second part of a phone conversation which David Bailey had with Thomas Wiehe of Sweden. This is entirely untrue. Both parts of the phone conversation were transcribed from the start. Surely one of the worst cases of Internet libel is that of the Gerald 'Joe' Moreno. It is known that he cooperates with those around Sathya Sai Baba, both prominent and rank-and-file individuals. That Sai devotees would support one who so constantly uses language of a kind that Sai Baba's own discourses abundantly inveigh against more than suggests a desperation by many of his devotees to see their guru defended at any cost.
