Sathya Sai Baba 84th Birthday Celebrations. Will 21st Century India Tolerat
2009-11-22 02:03:00 Unimaginable splurgings of pomp and conspicuous waste attend Sathya Sai Baba's imperial-like birthday celebrations. The global financial meltdown will not have melted down his vast reserves of gold. Many politicians from right across India's political spectrum fall at Sathya Sai Baba's feet. Likewise industrialists, judges, many of the top brass from the armed services and police, and so forth. We know, too, via strong former devotee contacts with those who have roles at high levels, that, though there are those in foreign service who regret it, diplomats have been told "not to rock the boat" on the Sathya Sai Baba issue. This is actually a great disservice to India, because Sathya Sai Baba is NOT India!
Golden Throne of India?s Sathya Sai Baba. He says he will Rule the world so
2009-11-21 22:05:00 Soon never comes ... On November 23, 2009, he celebrates with enormous pomp and extravagance his 84th birthday. Sathya Sai Baba is haggard, weak and ailing, although on his 60th birthday he proclaimed that he would thenceforth not age. He long ago said that he will travel to other countries, actually naming some of them, and that he would perform these visits after first putting his "own backyard" (India) in order. In many respects, India is still in a parlous state.
On Leaving the Sathya Sai Baba Cult ? Ex Leaders and Rank-and-File
2009-11-20 11:43:00 In 1999, came the publication (August-September) of three articles in a piece entitled: Sathya Sai Baba Exposed. These had been taken up from other sources by the editor, Duncan Roads, who, quite separately and via his own sources in Australia, had suffered his own disillisionment in Sai Baba. A person close to me, who knew well that I had deafened my ears to anything inimical to Sathya Sai Baba, strongly urged me to read these articles, one of which was by the (then) head of the Australian Sathya Sai Organization, Terry Gallagher, an agricultural scientist and businessman of Kyama, in the state of New South Wales on Australia's eastern seaboard. Terry Gallagher?s had come to realise ? between 1986 and 1993 (the latter being the year of the grisly police executions in Sai Baba?s bedroom) that grave matters had been profoundly covered up, not only by the ashram officials but by local, state and central governments. Those who eventually leave commonly do not leave suddenly. There ...
Sai Baba?s hand-washing hypocrisy on display
2009-11-20 11:19:00 Sathya Sai Baba claims to be behind all things that happens, so – by the same preposterous claim – he is necessarily to blame for everything that is wrong. Yet he denies this and puts the responsibility for everything that is not good on us in every respect and every instance! This Janus faced teaching, ...

Sathya Sai Baba, defender of the caste system
2009-11-18 11:14:00 ?The system of Varnas is ordained by the Vedas and so there can be no injustice in it; it is not an artifice invented by man.? (Sathya Sai Baba in Geetha Vahini, Ch. IX, p. 46 ) Sathya Sai Baba promotes himself as an unsurpassed renewer of moral and human values come to save India ...
Glen Meloy (?Standing up for truth and goodness?) ? In Memoriam
2009-11-18 09:55:00 Glen Meloy, of Palm Desert, California, a global coordinator in the effort to expose Sathya Sai Baba and his worldwide cult, died of cancer on January 1, 2005. He was born May 3, 1930 DesMoines, Iowa. Since early 2000, Glen Meloy was a major leader of a coalition of former Sai Baba devotees and others, known as The Exposé, which calls for formal investigation of alleged crimes by this guru and the cover-up perpetrated by his organization.
Basava Premanand Long Challenged Indian Governments To Come Clean On Sathya
2009-11-18 00:13:00 Among many attempts to awaken India to the great danger posed by chronic addiction to swamis, gurus and the like, the formost Indian rationalist B.Premanand tried to arouse government and public accountability. The odds he faced were utterly formidable. See my in memoriam tribute to Premanand, with whom I kept in touch over the years: Basava Premanand. Vale. A fighter for truth who lived what others preach One might have thought that the religious organizations, were they to have nothing to hide, would, in effect, have said something like this: Yes, we agree that horrible oppressions in the name of religion exist. We disagree with Premanand in regard to deism and disbelief. However, we are at one with him in wishing to stop exploitation, and we too will speak out very clearly, and do our best to ensure that you are not a voice crying in the wilderness.
A devotee reports on Sathya Sai Baba?s appeal and reputation
2009-11-17 14:24:00 Excerpt from a web page by N. Bhanutej of Puttaparthi From a handful in the 1960s, Sai Baba’s following today is anywhere between one crore and five crore. Sai Baba did not answer his critics. Narasimhaiah did not get an interview. But in a discourse, Baba said: “It is beyond you to know how or why ...
David Wolff blindly defends Sathya Sai Baba
2009-11-16 18:53:00 A defender of Sathya Sai Baba sent an e-mail to the exposé website exbaba.com. The Late Leo Boogaard: A Dutch Voice of Conscience On Sathya Sai Baba

Sathya Sai Baba and Sexual ?Grooming? of Boys and Young Men
2009-11-11 03:33:00 Shortly before Christmas 1997, a highly capable and lovely person, with whom I worked among orphans at Puttaparthi, Maria Quoos, a Polish film and stage actress and businesswoman, came anxiously to me . She is now leader of the Polish Sathya Sai Organization. Ms Quoos brought a married Polish man in his mid twenties to meet me in my old friend Walia's restaurant (the owner was Sathya Sai Baba's former head gardener). The Polish man, a member of the group of which she led, was distressed and confused and Ms Quoos wanted me to help. He told us that in their recent interview with him, Sai Baba had covertly grasped his penis.
?Spiritual? Politicking Sathya Sai Baba Style. An India-UK Nexus
2009-11-04 19:22:00 After our urgent, co-ordinated actions, the British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie were within minutes prevented from visiting Sai Baba at Whitefield near Bangalore. They were ten minute?s drive away from his ashram when, heeding our representations, British High Commission officials were able to dissuade Blair and his wife from visiting Sathya Sai Baba.
Hidden Fear of the Avatar
2009-11-03 17:46:00 HIDDEN FEAR OF ‘THE AVATAR’ Sathya Sai Baba’s refusal to explain anything other than what pleases himself makes it difficult to have confidence in many of the statements he makes on whatever subject, quite apart from what concerns the ‘unseen’ world of spiritual realities. Sathya Sai Baba ’s demand is that the devotee has implicit and ...
Sathya Sai Baba Critic Serguei Badaev: An Incisive Voice of Conscience From
2009-11-02 11:16:00 Serguei Badaev was ex-President of the Sathya Sai Organization's Moscow centre, ex-deputy National Coordinator and National Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) Coordinator for Russia. Serguei Badaev is an incisive writer with a professional background (the physical sciences), whose writings critical of the Sai sect - no less than those of others who have raised critical questions - receive no answer from Sathya Sai Baba and his officials. Nor do they explain how those with years of loving, sacrificial and dedicated service to the Sathya Sai Baba organization (what to speak in their own professions and wider communities) should, practically overnight, become demons, naysayers, and defamers.
Inner Ignoring of ?Warning Flags? Prior To Dissent From A Sect
2009-10-28 22:12:00 There is an ignoring, while one is still a member a questionable group, of what apostates, looking back on their process, have called 'warning flags'. The rationalising and psychological denial factors loom, but not so large as to cause deeper questioning and leave-taking. These are phenomena widely encountered in the reports of dissenters from sects. I have written of this aspect in an article, where I wrote: "Since leaving Sathya Sai Baba in October 1999, I have counted around 10 major ?flags? that I myself ignored. The realization of most of these resistances only occurred over time. Coming out of the spell?s grip is a painful, arduous process". See: A Cult?s Powerful Grip. ?The Guru Papers?: censorship and manipulative control of followers? minds
2009-10-28 09:09:00 Yet more quotations on gurus which apply with full force to Sathya Sai Baba, who inists he is perfect and pure, despite countless testimonies to the contrary! The title “The Guru Papers – Masks of Authopritarian Power” encapsulates the matter most succinctly. By holding gurus as perfect and thus beyond ordinary explanations, their presumed specialness ...
More from the Guru Papers ? on sexual abuse
2009-10-27 10:24:00 ‘The Guru Papers’ by Joel Kramer and Diane Alstead is a major work exposing the exploitation of authoritarian power by gurus. It is particularly relevant to the study of Sathya Sai Baba, who fits the bill for such a guru:- “When abuses are publicly exposed, the leader either denies or justifies the behaviors by saying ...
The Guru Papers: Masks of Authoritarian Power
2009-10-27 00:52:00 by Joel Kramer and Diana Alstad. Published: Frog, Ltd., Berkeley, California; 1993 Some quotes from Part One of the Guru Papers have been supported as having striking accuracy in describing cult gurus and the dynamics involved. This is not least true of Sathya Sai Baba, who fits the bill entirely as such a guru exploiting his ...
The Guru Papers ? and Sathya Sai Baba
2009-10-25 14:54:00 Sathya Sai Baba is a typical Indian guru both in his claims, his methods and the way he relates to those who become his followers. How well he fits the pattern of self-professing avatars, ’spiritual teachers’ and how typical are his methods of manipulating his followers can be see in great detail by studying the ...
David Bailey and Thomas Wiehe. Transcript Of Phone Link: Sathya Sai Abuses
2009-10-24 23:44:00 This article contains the link to the mp3 format phone conversation in which David Bailey, an enormously important early exposer of India's leading guru Sathya Sai Baba, explains his and his wife Faye Bailey's stance. In 1999, the extensive document 'The Findings' by David and Faye Bailey appeared. This document caused enormous damage to the Sathya Sai Baba's credibility and that of his worldwide Sathya Sai Organization. Here was the case where persons previously very close indeed to Sathya Sai Baba spoke out, and in no uncertain terms. Faye had been a noted leader in the Australian Sathya Sai Organization well before the guru, much to the astonishment of them both, chose them to be husband and wife, and presided over their wedding. In their speaking out about the untold corruption they and others had uncovered, and the consequent great shock and sense of spiritual betrayal, the unique role in the organization of the Baileys stood in marked contrast to the situation in which...
Solicitation of funds by Sathya Sai Baba VIPs
2009-10-22 23:24:00 Former International Chairman of the Sathya Sai Organization, Indulal Shah wrote while soliciting for money to build the Chaitanya Jyothi Museum in Prashanthi Nilayam, ?As regards the final cost it cannot be ascertained now fully since it will depend on the international world quality which will have to be maintained for such a monument by ...
Sai Baba: his life is his Message
2009-10-20 11:12:00 One of the main things that, beside his followers, still many think is in favor of Sathya Sai Baba are his “teachings”. Of course there are several ways to “teach” but at least in action he does not seem to teach a lot. Most objective people (including many devotees and followers) I know find ...

Sathya Sai Baba: opulence, show, extravagance and waste
2009-10-17 23:55:00 One cultural difference between many devotees from the East and the West is the attitude towards show and extravagance. It originally appealed greatly to spiritual Westerners that Sai Baba’s life was an example in living without material luxuries and in an eco-friendly, non-consumerist way. His doctrine was very markedly against waste of money, time, energy ...
Robert Priddy and Barry Pittard On Dr G. Venkataraman ? Sathya Sai Baba Glo
2009-10-17 23:16:00 The Sathya Sai Organisation's Deception and Propaganda Expose "The foes of the 'open society' (Sir Karl Popper's term) are those who use its very openness to achieve their closed and devious ends. Sai Baba and his highly authoritarian and cultist organisation have such ends, which critics have tried to make known. Its foremost leaders silence all those who question it- and never face substantive criticisms. For the first time - after six years of pained and guilty silence - since hundreds of long-term devotees left it in disgust - the Sathya Sai Organisation has found it necessary to try to defuse the debate about Sathya Sai Baba's alleged crimes, deceits and fraudulence. Dr. Venkataraman's tendentious cover-up article expresses untruths which have long circulated within the cult, giving an opportunity to confront him with facts and truth"
Fighting Facts with Smears ? profile of a web aggressor, Gerald Moreno

Lord Paul Swarj Under British Police Investigation
2009-10-12 23:45:00 I have written of the Sathya Sathya Sai Baba-implicated and high-profile British Labour Government Minister, Tony McNulty MP, and police investigations into allegations of rorting the British taxpayer. The very wealthy Lord Paul of Marylebone (See Wikipedia note below) is now under police investigation for the same reason. In probing Lord Paul, the British media might like, while investigating, to see whether Paul has been assisting the Sathya Sai Organization, as has been Tony McNulty. Both have long been powerfully influential in the British Labour Party.
Sathya Sai Baba?s promises part 2
2009-10-11 20:31:00 Promises of good or improved health: Sathya Sai Baba is known for making many personal promises to people in interviews, as reported in many writings about him. One of his stock phrases is, “I will look after everything”, and another is, “I give you a long life, healthy life, happy life!”. (He made both of ...
THE INTERNATIONAL SATHYA SAI ORGANIZATION
2009-10-09 10:33:00 The Sathya Sai Organisation – an evaluative overview Here I summarise what it took me about 18 years to find out through experience, often disillusioning, about the Sathya Sai Organisation (SSO). Among its members are many volunteers who lead by example in the real work of genuinely selfless service to the suffering and needy. These ...
Further genital oiling, kundalini claims and more
2009-10-08 13:16:00 The genital oiling carried out by Sathya Sai Baba, as described by numerous ex-followers and admitted by various of his leaders and so-called ‘VIP’ devotees are said by the defenders of this sexual molestation to be what is called “raising the kundalini” or serpent power… which is supposed to give one cosmic consciousness etc. There ...
Michelle Goldberg, US Author-Journalist, on Sathya Sai Baba (1)
2009-10-07 23:53:00 It is one of the gambits of pro Sathya Sai Baba activists like Indulal Shah (when he was active), Dr G.Venkataraman and his virtual counterpart Gerald Moreno, to portray highly reputed media journalists as sensationalist, and so on. In their offensive and denunciatory style, they fail to credit world leading media journalists, and the researchers as well, ...
Sathya Sai Baba and Organization condone hate campaign
2009-10-05 17:14:00 Top propagandists for God Incarnate and the cult around him Dr. M. Thorbjørn Meyer: Is Democracy Such A Good Idea?
2009-10-05 00:06:00 My regular readers will have noticed my use of - not uncommonly - phrases of the sort: Sathya Sai Baba and certain of his core leaders. Worthy leaders have their assistants or followers; oppressive ones have their henchmen. Thorbjørn Meyer, European Central Coordinator of the Sathya Sai Organization, is regarded by a number who know him well as being of the henchman variety. Meyer's lack of accountability is great. Abandoned are essential values of democratic accountability, as if they had never been heard of. This is of course true in regard to various other key Sathya Sai Baba leaders; however, Meyer is one of the foremost of the guru's leaders, and his accountability the greater. He is right at the hub of the cover up of Sathya Sai Baba, and of his monumental spiritual betrayal, and of the suppression of serious crimes that would, were India far more properly democratic, be investigated as a matter of course. Robert Priddy, when head of the Sathya Sai Organization, knew...
Sathya Sai Baba oils genitals (boys/young men) Part 1
2009-10-04 13:04:00 It is now a wholly undisputed fact, even among many leading devotees (for example, the European Central Coordinator of the Sathya Sai Organisation, Thorbjørn Meyer) that Sathya Sai Baba takes down the trousers of many young men and boys and handles their genitals intimately, rubbing on oil and sometimes also so-called ‘holy ash’. Many report ...
Concerning Attempts To Contact Former Sathya Baba Followers
2009-10-04 01:11:00 Concerning Attempts To Contact Former Sathya Baba Followers In the case of these approaches, carefully vetting is performed so as to screen off the proven attempts of Gerald Moreno and others to infiltrate or otherwise undermine former devotee work to bring about proper third party investigation of Sathya Sai Baba and core components of his international Sathya Sai Organization. It has been important for us to take advice from outstanding abuse professionals, lawyers, and so on. The temerity, and in some cases the naivity, of some requests to us for even the most sensitive information might stagger those who had not become used to it.
Gerald Moreno ? in the Sathya Sai Baba lunatic fringe
2009-10-02 22:36:00 Let us take a peep into the mind of Gerald Moreno, the fanatical believer in miracles and Sai Baba’s powers. After this intense seeking, he had what he believes to have been a physical visit across time and space by Sathya Sai Baba, during which he was unable to “move or scream”. ...
Sathya Sai Baba and Dr G.Venkataraman: Will They Disavow Their Idi Amin Fon
2009-10-01 23:09:00 Deputy head of the international Satahya Sai Organization and Head of Sai Global Radio G. Venkataraman?s ?Mr Idi Amin? Report (/Journals/Vol_05/01JAN07/11-pr-asanthi-diary) stands as an appalling affront to those who suffered at this monstrous dictator's hands. Note how Venkataraman, on Sai Global Radio, refers to Mr Idi Amin. I may add that it is interesting that Amin claimed to have a direct line to God. Did he have in mind, specifically, Sathya Sai Baba? Perhaps Amin scholars may have something among their files, and can let us all know. Here is what G. Venkataraman wrote:
Dr G. Venkataraman, Sathya Sai Baba?s Nuclear Boon Companion
2009-09-29 00:18:00 Robert Priddy is the former long-time head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Norway and a retired philosopher in the Social Sciences, University of Oslo. He has written insightfully on the extraordinary, often procrustean efforts of Sathya Sai Baba's head of Puttaparthi propaganda programs to rationalise his beliefs in Sathya Sai Baba. Though not a physical (actually, nuclear) scientist like Dr G. Venkataraman, he has an abiding interest in the sciences, and how a certain variety of scientists, in a great minority but with unfortunate influence far beyond their importance, falsely use science to buttress up their religious claims. The following information may be of particular value for journalistic and scholarly investigators, and also those institutions and agencies which the Sathya Sai cult in many countries attempts to influence - but without portraying their real agendas. For those who may like to hunt and peck among Priddy's writings on G. Venkataraman, I have excerpted fro...
End of the Sathya Sai Baba Dream
2009-09-24 16:16:00 In 2000 I resigned as National Contact person of the Sathya Sai Organization in Norway after 18 years fulfilling that role. This was no easy decision, since I did not believe that the allegations of sexual abuse could be true, even though I knew that Sathya Sai Baba was deeply involved in the massive cover-up ...

Reply To Sathya Sai Baba Defender
2009-09-21 02:22:00 A former devotee received a note from one clearly upset at dissent from Sathya Sai Baba. Its mood is fairly typical of emails former followers receive. It may be noted that, apart from a minority of former Sai devotees who don't know their manners, there is a strong commitment to courteousy (just as, indeed, there is among Sai devotees too). The recipient responded as follows:

Sathya Sai sees Hanuman as a real figure
2009-09-17 10:31:00 Hanuman, a great devotee of the mythical Rama, was a ‘monkey man’ who supposedly jumped dozens of miles – and also carried a whole mountain so a healing herb could be picked from it. And he makes very clear that this is no myth for Sai Baba. Sathya Sai sees Hanuman as a real figure ...
Susan Boyle: ?Wild Horses? Won?t Hold Her Back
2009-09-15 02:00:00 Duty can have its own beauty, though it is far from an absolute form of it. There are, of course, more beautiful things in life than writing about Sathya Sai Baba and his movement. Though the thought of my own engagement in anything significantly-other courts disbelief among a prominent Internet detractor and gross defamer, my work on Sathya Sai Baba constitutes but a minor part of my frequently delightful and deeply fulfilling days. Working quickly, and having other life interests, is native to a number of former followers of Sathya Sai Baba who have stood forth to call for media and government investigation of Sathya Sai Baba and certain of his core leaders. Last April, deeply moved, as was so much of the rest of the world, by the singer Susan Boyle, I wrote of her in relation to having been the target of ageist discrimination not, in essence, unlike that shown by the Sathya Sai Baba proxy defender on the Internet in relation to Robert Priddy, Brian Steel and myself.
?BILD? Story. ?Guru Wants Sex? (Sathya Sai Baba)
2009-09-13 02:24:00 The article below, in which Jens Sethi recounts being sexually abused by Sathya Sai Baba, is from the magazine 'BILD' of Munich on 21st August, 2000. Wikipedia states that 'BILD' is "the best-selling newspaper in Europe and has the sixth-largest circulation worldwide". About a year earlier, NEXUS Magazine (Australia), August-September 1999, featured three articles on Sathya Sai Baba, containing serious allegations. One of these was the testimony of a German husband and wife, Jens and Gurprit Sethi who had been devotees, but had left him.The other articles were the testimony of Terry Gallagher, (who, on principle, had resigned as head of the Sathya Sai Organization in Australia) and Hans de Kraker, also Australia, who had likewise investigated allegations of Sathya Sai Baba's serial sexual abuse of boys and young men. Kraker was, for a number of years, head of the Western Canteen at Puttaparthi
Sai Baba and inanimate cloth objects come to life?
2009-09-10 12:06:00 The “literally incredible case of the weeping saris”: Sathya Sai Baba has proclaimed – and is hailed as such – that he is the only (and fullest possible) reincarnation of Vishnu, Rama and Krishna here today. Among the supposed evidence for this a somewhat bottomless pit of mythological and fantastic stories are presented about ...
Gerald Moreno?s empty words and threats
2009-09-07 13:51:00 Here one sees the obsessively self-justificatory and irrational Gerald Moreno in full aggressive bloom trying to make a mountain out of a molehill again. The Prophet of the Age ? Vishnu reborn?
2009-09-06 10:12:00 The following claimant to be yet another Vishnu reincarnation come to save the world is described:- One might have though it was referring to Sathya Sai Baba – until we read that “the great saints and sages of India have always shunned publicity and do so to this day!” The whereabouts of Sathya Sai Baba are ...
?What about the miracles?? Response To One Drawn By Sathya Sai Baba
2009-09-06 03:53:00 Recently, a writer, who had witnessed inexplicable phenomena occurring at a Sai devotee venue, asked me: what about the (Sathya Sai Baba-related) miracles that are happening around the world? I responded in terms close to the following. I shall now include some relevant links: The question is fair. It is one that many who have left Sathya Sai Baba have pondered over. I have not seen any satisfactory explanation. Typically, there is a quality of manifestation that cannot be explained. In my view, these phenomena are far removed from phenomena of the Ouija board type, what to mention many another variety studied by parapsychologists. I think that neither devotee nor non-devotee explanations can do justice to phenomena about which, in the scientific, rational sense, we can say very little. There is that arresting statement in the philosopher Paul Wittgenstein's 'Tractatus': "Whereof we cannot speak, thereof we must be silent". |
