The company recently rolled out changes to its UI on the service with the introduction of the ‘Timeline’ and the Open Graph Protocol for social apps. Compared to these changes, the UI on Mobile app was pretty much the same as before. So we guess the redesign was in the cards. Today they rolled out a new update only for Android for all devices. The new update works on all versions of Android from 1.5 onwards. So fragmentation of Android is not a serious issue in this case. The new update sports radical changes in the design of the mobile app and makes it look more in sync with the service.
