The market offered plenty of bargains and was looking quite healthy from a technical perspective. I just read this article in the Sun Times: Cops to gangs: Stop the killing--or else According to that story, on August 17 Superintendent Weis, along with other officials from the "U.S. attorney's office, FBI, Cook County state's attorney's office and other agencies" met with several gang leaders at Garfield Park Conservatory. There the gang leaders were delivered a very stern warning: if they didn't "stop the killing" they would face the possibility of lengthy and complex RICO investigations. Take that, street thugs! Don't think this meeting was all stick and no carrot, though. "The gang leaders were provided with information about jobs, too."
