2012-02-06 05:32:00 First off, congratulations to the New York Giants and their fans that was yet another great game between these two teams and I don?t know what else the New England Patriots have to do to win one of these games but I?d like them to figure it out. Secondly this Super Bowl loss doesn?t hurt as much as the loss in Super Bowl XLII for a lot of reasons. In what to some seems like a shocking move, the Patriots cut WR Tiquan Underwood and signed DE Alex Silvestro from the practice squad. The move was not disciplinary in nature and was made to give New England depth on the defensive line as the game goes deeper. Look at the move this way, by cutting Underwood now, he was able to spend the entire week in Indianapolis with his teammates and family. He got to be involved in all the team and league activities, he is in the team picture and should New England win on Sunday, he will surely be awarded a ring for his contributions this season. DirecTV Customers in Boston May Miss Super Bowl
2012-01-26 12:10:00 Nearly a quarter of a million Boston area DirecTV subscribers have been cut off from a pair of Boston television stations since Saturday. Unless the stations owners and DirecTV can come up with a resolution to their dispute chances are good those customer?s will have to go elsewhere to watch the Super Bowl on February 5. WHDH TV Channel 7 and WLVI TV Channel 56 owners Sunbeam Television Corp. blacked out it?s stations signals from DirecTV while it seeks an increase in the fees that DirecTV pays to carry the station. Sunbeam says that DirecTV refuses to come anywhere near what the established market rate is for those fees and that the proposed rates from DirecTV are too low. DirecTV executives have accused Sunbeam of a ?shameless attempt to extort a more than 300 percent fee increase that our customers will have to absorb." 2012-01-26 05:57:00 We?ve all seen the credit card commercials. $2,000 per ticket $1,000 per person airfare $500 a night hotel Getting an ulcer when you see the credit card bill?Priceless. If you are a New England Patriots fan looking to attend the Super Bowl in Indianapolis on February 5 you better be prepared to pay, and pay big. Tickets to the game are starting around $2000 per and go up from there to as much as $7500. Then throw in roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, food, rental car and incidentals are you?re looking at spending the gross national product of a small third world country. If you look around you can find some cheaper overnight options, maybe skip the rental car by staying closer to the venue but hey you still need to eat right? While some have other plans, that include staying farther away from the venue to save hotel money and making a longer drive for the game and eating as cheaply as possible. One of the things I do when traveling on a budget is to try to combine meals....
