"A Kiss From Tokyo", Theatrical Trailer (1964) - Yuki 7 dashes around the world in hot pursuit of the tantalizingly tricky Diamond Eye, who is stealing parts and plans and leaving behind a path of murdered scientists in her quest to build a missile inside her volcanic lair. This rather wonderful retro animated faux trailer was created by Stephane Coedel, a French animator living in London. The Character Yuki 7 is the creation of illustrator Kevin Dart, whose book "Seductive Espionage: The World of Yuki 7" is available for pre-order.I think the trailer works really well in capturing that Modesty Blaise, Golgo 13, Lupin The Third, Avengers, James Bond etc. spy vibe Props to kanYe West : Blog Via: Stephane Coedel - Vimeo Read More tags: animation, faux trailer, retro, spy, trailer

Game Review: Tokyo Beat Down

The sum of its fun parts couldn't save it from its overwhelming ambitions._____________________-_______________________________-________TOTAL SCORE: 7.1/10The Good:Engaging plot * Colorful characters * Quirky dialogue * Nice variety of enemies * A handful of fancy moves and weapons * Combat segments and investigative sections make for gameplay varietyThe Bad:Unresponsive controls * Cheap enemy A.I. * Firing a weapon isn't as rewarding as it could be * Unfinished story__________________________-_______________________________-___Nothing screams fun like old-school. For most of us, our malfunctioning consoles from the 1990s may mean that we are no longer able to enjoy the classic old-school titles of yesteryear. Fortunately, the DS has risen as a platform for us to relive some of these old-school titbits. Tokyo Beat Down is the newest doctor yet to be trained and qualified to administer us shots of nostalgia. A side-scrolling beat-em-up, Tokyo Beat Down slides us down to the days where ...

Passarella, Black and White Sexiness from Tokyo to London
2009-01-17 23:59:00
Passarella Death Squad is brainchild of Danny Broddle and Emilie Albisser, the label started in 2004. The latest T-shirt collection using imported fabric from Tokyo, Japan while manufacturing process of the garments happens in London, England.T shirt design-wise, you will see that any Pasarella Death Squad has put much love into combination of photography and sketch art -- putting women at the front as main theme. Black-and-white is another keyword, it' s how Passarella simplifying the sense of elegance with two-color fashion. At least that's what I see on their latest collection. Some of you may found the Passarella tees a little bit vulgar, but can also be spelled sexiness by others.
Rikyu - Little Tokyo
2009-01-09 08:56:00
Rikyu in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles in July 2008. Our waitress was friendly, but the food arrived slow. It wasn't busy at all. In fact, we were the only customers when we got here. Empty restaurants always make me worry, especially when all other restaurants around here were packed, but we were hungry. We decided to eat here. Food quality was like a supermarket food court in Japan, which means it's fine, you can eat it but not restaurant quality, like using store-bought noodles, topping, sauce... I'm sorry if this place is actually making everything from scratch, but I don't think so.salad, comes with chicken teriyaki udon Chikuwa Isobe Age $3.75It was good, but it was a really small portion for $3.75. I can make these at home for 30 cents. Also it took 20 minutes to get this. Teriyaki Chicken & Udon $12.50Comes with rice, salad and miso soup. What a crazy dish... To me, teriyaki chicken + udon = gross. I've never seen teriyaki on top of the noodles before. Sansai Udon $8S...
New York should learn a little something from Tokyo
2009-01-08 09:45:00
I recently got back to NY from Tokyo, Japan. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon. I was amazed at how clean their city was, how respectful people were to others, and people (no matter what job they held) were courteous and helpful to everyone.Tokyo is a very clean city, there are no cigarette butts on the ground, no gum on the sidewalks, and no trash anywhere. Surprisingly they have no trash cans on any street corners, like you find in NY. People just wait till they find a place with a trash can instead of throwing things on the street. Japanese people have respect for their city.Almost no one in Tokyo smokes. And when they do, they follow the laws and smoke in designated areas. They don't throw cigarettes on the sidewalk or out their car windows. Japanese people don't blow smoke in your face, or walk with a lit cigarette (something that the oblivious and disrespectful europeans truly we saw didn't get.) We were eating on a bench along the sidewalk one day and th...

I know it's been a long time since I last blogged and I do apologize, but I've had a few computer problems. Ever since I bought my laptop (in late 2006), it has never had an anti-virus program. I know it's stupid to not install one but I've always been too lazy. Anyway, for 2 years nothing has entered my computer but as I was downloading the new series "90210" (I'm so embarrassed), a virus attacked my poor computer (it was a stupid show anyway, I didn't even watch more than two episodes). So I had to re-installed windows... and I do have an anti-virus program now.I also bought myself a 650GB hardrive in Akihabara the other day. I have to find enough things to fill it with.Besides that I have made myself a new blog. Yes, that's why I haven't been blogging lately it wasn't because I was lazy at all. I been going for jogs in the middle of the night with my friends who live in the same apartment as I do. We go jogging along the Yagami River but when it's one in the morning it can be very very scary. Now Japan is a country that has one of highest suicide rates in the world, and jumping off a bridge isn't an uncommon way to commit suicide. So as we were running along the river, we had to cross many bridges and two of them had flowers tired around the poles. One of my friends also mentioned someone committed suicide on one particular bridge we happened to run across. Now this wasn't exactly the happiest thing to be talking about when it's the middle of the night, dead quiet (except for the sound of the river) and extremely dark! I was certainly freaked out! However the run was worth it though, I felt so much better afterwards (I had burgers that evening -_-;;).I know I talked about burgers in my last post (as well) but I have been making home cooked meals as well.1. Tokyo Welcomes You
2008-09-29 14:02:00
Despite my whines about not being in Beijing anymore, I am absolutely high on Tokyo. I have this little apartment that is so completely tiny yet very cozy. Honestly I think that's all the space I need anyway. I'm usually not home half the time and when I am, I just sit on my bed watching movies and Gossip Girl Season 2 (YEAH!).My room looks a bit messy in the photo because it was taken on the second day I moved in so I was still attempting to unpack. Don't judge my neatness by this photo -_-;;The little kitchen and laundry. The front door and hallway. The size of my apartment is probably only the size of my room at home (plus the bathroom maybe) but I love it. It's the first time I really feel independent. What's more is that I have actually bought a pan and kettle and I'm cooking for myself. My friends definitely should be proud of me, I'm turning into a domestic goddess! (Although I do cook noodles and pasta in my kettle... just don't tell anyone).Classes started last Thursd...

Gothic Lolita (gosu-loli)
2008-09-22 10:05:00
??????????????"Gothic Lolita" is a fashion style, born in Japan, that blends the dark, brooding gothic and the light, frilly Lolita looks. To see is to believe. In other countries, the gothic look is an expression of alienation, teen anger, even anarchy. Piercing and aggressive tattoing are often part of the package.Lolita is of course the young woman and title of the great Vladimir Nabokov novel. In Japan, she has been appropriated in the "Lolita complex" (rori-con). This is the phenomenon describing Japanese men who are obsessed with very young--very young--girls.In terms of fashion, Lolita refers to hyper-cute girls in frilly pink and white outfits.Young Japanese women have melded these different forms of alienation and created a bizarre sub-category fashion look. In highly detailed outfits, complete in many cases with Little Bo Peep umbrellas, they parade in groups in city centers.Disclaimer: The author is not an expert on gothic, Lolita, or gothic Lolita fashion. Shibuya 109
2008-09-20 02:02:00
?????Shibuya 109, or just 109 (ichi-maru-kyu, in Japanese), is a landmark for women between the ages of 10 and 30.The cylindrical building stands at a fork in the road just up a slope from the scramble intersection in front of Shibuya Station, in Tokyo.Within its eight above-ground and two underground floors one can find the latest fashions in Japan. In addition, it is a sociologists dream. On each floor, you will find many boutiques, each offering a very defined fashion look. The women who work as clerks in these shops wear the clothes of the shop--and the attitude appropriate to the look. The pinker the fashion, the cuter the look and behavior of the clerks. In the hip-hop influenced shops, the attitude was considerably cooler. In one boutique, the two women clerks flew around the tiny shop screaming "irashaimase" (welcome). They both were deeply tanned, short, cute, and were sporting completely blonde hair, short cotton skirts, and lots of bangles. Across the hall, in a much more su...
Tokyo generator set

Hi everybody, For sometimes, at Ritchie's auction site, we see Generator set (24- + KVA) sold between 1 000 and 4 000 $. I can't find any informations related to that company or brand name. I am looking to buy a skid generator to run my 30x40 garage, and the 24 seems to be a good deal.
I miss Beijing!
2008-09-17 08:50:00
I know this post has arrived weeks overdue, but you have to understand the pain of setting up bank accounts, buying a new mobile phone, getting your alien registration sorted and going to various orientations. The first week I arrived in Japan I went to Numazu, Shizuoka to visit my old host family. It felt like I had never left. All the feelings of being thankful and slightly uncomfortable at the same time came rushing back at me. It was great to be able to see everyone again, but also knowing I would be out on my own in weeks time really kept me energetic and happy. So now I'm alone in Tokyo (besides the new friends I made in my apartment) and I really love it. I love being able to do what I want, whenever I want without really needing to consider anyone else besides my own selfish needs.I've been to Keio University several times for orientations and an exam. It's a small campus (compared to my USYD) but it's a beautiful place (especially the East gate) . The past few days I've...

She is wearing denim short shorts, ripped and or frayed in tactical places. Her top shows off a brown midriff and petite belly button, and is cut to expose her shoulders.O-ka-san is dressed more conservatively in white capri pants, low-heel pumps without a back, and a brown top with the collar turned up. She has the de rigueur Vuitton bag. Both women have dyed their hair to a similar degree. The younger woman is taller, which is common in Japan.Daddy is no doubt at work, and his credit card took a hit today.
