The UEFA Cup is coming to an end to make way for the new Europa League competition. Gotta admit, today’s final doesn’t exactly seem real “sexy” to me at all. Werder Bremen & Shakhtar Donetsk have arrived in Turkey and I couldn’t give a rats ass. It has nothing to do with the UEFA Cup itself, so don’t even go there. Over the years we have been treated to some fantastic finals. However, Bremen vs Shakhtar does nothing for me. Regardless, it’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new one for the secondary European competition.  For that reason a lone, you may find yourself glued to the TV set this afternoon. I will simply watch the highlights on Fox Soccer Report later tonight. No offense to any Bremen or Shakhtar fans out there, I’m sure you are all very juiced about the game. Václav Svěrkoš. E’ questo 24enne attaccante del Banik Ostrava, pressoché sconosciuto al grande pubblico se non per qualche comparsata in Bundesliga ai tempi del Borussia Moenchengladbach e dell’Hertha, a segnare il primo gol a Euro 2008. Ed è un gol pesantissimo, perché regala la vittoria alla Repubblica Ceca nella partita inaugurale contro la Svizzera. A Basilea, finisce 1-0 per la nazionale allenata da Brückner.
