West Virginia Racism Shown In Video On Obama
2008-08-16 22:58:00
I've seen a lot of crappy people in this election cycle, but this video shows a lot of them. It was made just before the West Virginia Primary and has whites just saying that they will not vote for Senator Obama as president because he's Black. It's the kind of racism Hillary Clinton played on to gain votes. Will it reveal itself during the DNC Convention? If you want to see how sick America -- or at least West Virginia -- can be, watch this video: West Virginians should be ashamed of themselves for being racist. For just wanting to basically hurt themselves just to avoid voting for someone because they're Black. That's the ultimate in mental illness, which is what Racism is.

West Virginia Has Double Number of Registered Democrats as Republicans So P
2008-07-25 21:21:00
Ok. Here's a question for you. Why is it that Rasmussen Polling has Senator John McCain over Senator Obama 45 percent to 37 percent, but there are 665,234 Democrats, 347,760 Republicans and 156,199 who are unaffiliated, according to figures released from the West Virginia Secretary of State?s office? Think about it. That means there would be an overwhelming Democratic win in West Virginia, right? So what's Rasmussen doing with it's polling methods? I check the site and it reads this:Rasmussen Reports collects data for its survey research using an automated polling methodology.Generally speaking, the automated survey process is identical to that of traditional, operator-assisted research firms such as Gallup, Harris, and Roper. However, automated polling systems use a single, digitally-recorded, voice to conduct the interview while traditional firms rely on phone banks, boiler rooms, and operator-assisted technology. For tracking surveys such as the Rasmussen Reports daily Pre...

The good news is alot of people are saying they wont vote for eaither candidat. It is sad that they will not be voteing but if they don't vote for Mc Bush than that is even better.

Cheney Makes West Virginia A Punchline
2008-06-03 14:37:00
Vice President Dick Cheney was wrapping up his Monday appearance at a National Press Club event when the final question from the audience addressed his apparent blood ties to Barack Obama.Cheney went on to explain that research into his family tree revealed Cheneys on his mother's side of the family."So, I had Cheneys on both sides of the family, and we don't even live in West Virginia," the vice president quipped. The remark drew laughter, and perhaps some groans, from the Washington, D.C. audience."You can say those things when you're not running for re-election," Cheney continued, to additional laughter and slight applause.West Virginia officials were less than thrilled, as The Associated Press and others report."I truly cannot believe that any vice president of the United States, regardless of their political affiliation, would make such a derogatory statement about my state or any state for that matter," said Gov. Joe Manchin. The Democrat issued a statement requesting an apo...

The Climate Change Debate and West Virginia
2008-05-27 19:49:00
At least two groups are appealing to West Virginians through radio ads as the U.S. Senate weighs "America's Climate Security Act."The legislation seeks to "direct the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to establish a program to decrease emissions of greenhouse gases, and for other purposes. "One of the radio spots comes from AmericasPower.org, sponsored by the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. The coalition includes most, though not all, of the major coal producers operating in the state. The Associated Press reports on the other group, the free-market espousing Club for Growth, running ads throughout the country regarding the bill. While both spots raise questions about the legislation, the latter group is also focusing on this year's crop of candidates. They include U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va."The proposed legislation calls for capping carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, transportation and industrial sources with a goal of reducing g...

Edwards Endorses Obama in Grand Rapids
2008-05-15 03:30:00
Barack Obama and John Edwards at a rally in Grand Rapids, MI. (Photo from BarackObama.com)In the midst of what has been a contentious Democratic campaign Barack Obama made his first campaign trip to a state that has been in the midst of its own contentious election battle. On Wednesday, Obama gave a rally at Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Obama did not campaign in Michigan before the Michigan primary because he agreed not to in accordance with the Democratic National Committee. Michigan was stripped of their delegates as a consequence of moving their primary before February 5th. Obama told the crowd that he felt guilty about not campaigning in Michigan and wanted his trip back to try and make up for that. In exchange, Obama introduced a heavy hitter in the Democratic Party, John Edwards. As an attendant of the event myself, I was also shocked to see who the surprise guest was. It was only just before the event started that news media became...
Clinton Wins West Virginia
2008-05-15 03:18:00
Not that anyone expected anything different given the demographics...From the AP:As expected, roughly 95 percent of West Virginia Democratic primary voters were white. Half of voters were from rural areas. It was one of the oldest electorates among 31 Democratic primaries with exit polls to date, with four in 10 over age 60. The only other states with somewhat similar numbers were Arkansas, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma ? and Hillary Clinton won all four states. It also was the electorate with the highest proportion ? just about seven in 10 ? of people who lack a college degree thus far this primary season. The same held true for whites without a college degree ? again, historically a strong Clinton group. According to CNN Clinton picked up nine pledged delegates. Which still leaves Obama with a triple digit lead. Whats more telling is that Obama now has a nine superdelegate lead over Clinton which means all totalled he has a 168 delegate lead over Clinton and if you've been readi...

Obama?s West Virginia Slaughter

Holy crap.  I’m just catching up on the news this morning.   Hillary completely cleaned Obama’s clock yesterday in West Virginia. Check this out:   Over 330,000 Democrats voted in the WV primary.  RECORD TURNOUT for a race that the media has declared OVER.  Of those, Senator Clinton received 239,062 votes (67%).   SIXTY-SEVEN PERCENT, folks. Hillary Clinton?s No-Win Win In West Virginia

The Mountain State proved insurmountable to Barack Obama, who conceded the contest to Hillary Clinton before the first vote was even cast. Clinton West Virginia Win Spurs Obama Donation Boost
2008-05-14 07:10:00
Senator Hillary Clinton's expected win in West Virginia Tuesday set off a new and enormous round of donations to Senator Barack Obama from supporters nationwide connecting on the BarackObama.com website. It started with Brad over at the www.obamavolunteercorps.org website who sent out this note:We all expected Senator Clinton to win. Although to celebrate her victory I think I will donate $10.00 to Senator Obama. Who's with me? www.barackobama.com/contribute- -BradObama Volunteer Corpswww.obamavolunteercorps.or-g..and it spread from there, with people matching the $20 donations of others. Many Obama supporters were energized by what seemed to be an openly racist way of campaigning to people in West Virginia who seemed, well, openly racist. Personally, I think West Virginia's the land the time forgot, but they're a part of America and we have to take care of them. Still, it does not excuse the open racism down there. And what the hell was John Edwards' name doing on the ball...

The lady who?s bad at math continued plodding towards Denver ? tonight, making it clear in her West Virginia Democratic primary victory speech that she?ll remain in the Democratic race for the presidency until all of the primaries are over. Or, until the money runs out. The Clinton campaign is reportedly $20 million in debt. Maybe that's why the Clintons accepted money from an 11-year-old child.

West Virginia Primary Results: Clinton Romps
2008-05-14 01:37:00
West Virginia voters head to the polls today and Hillary Clinton is expected to dominate the state's primary. Will her victory tonight be big enough to change the dynamics of this race or will it be seen as too little, too late?As always, we'll be updating this post as we go tonight, so be sure to refresh your browser. Our live commentary on the contests can be found below.West Virginia (84% Reporting)Hillary Clinton 67%Barack Obama 26%West Virginia offers Democrats 28 delegates. Notes[6:39PM CST] As expected, Clinton has been declared the winner in West Virginia already. Some supporters were suggesting she could bring in as much as 90%. While that seems like expectations gone wild, a romp is no doubt in the works. What margin of victory does she need to change the thinking that this race is over? Will any margin of victory do that? I tend to think this is all too little, too late, despite the Clinton camp's best efforts over the past week to play up West Virginia's import...

It is one of the final contests before the Democratic National Convention in Denver in late August, when the party's delegates will nominate their pick to face off against Republican Senator John McCain in November. As anticipated, and projected by CNN as the polls closed at 7:30 p.m., Clinton pulled off a victory. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Clinton led 67 percent to Barack Obama's 26. New York senator should cruise to a 20-plus-point victory on Tuesday.By Gil Kaufman Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Photo: Joe Raedle and Win McNamee/ Getty Images With one of the final primaries coming up Tuesday (May 13) in West Virginia, the Democratic contenders were headed in very different directions over the weekend. As New York senator and former first lady Hillary Clinton pushed full steam ahead in the Mountain State, blowing off Mother's Day to campaign, rival Illinois senator Barack Obama set his sights on presumptive Republican nominee John McCain and the November election. Clinton holds a formidable lead in West Virginia and is expected to cruise to an easy 20-plus-point victory in the state with a large number of working-class white voters, who have been her solid base throughout the campaign. But Obama has slowly increased his lead among pledged delegates, expanded his lead in popular votes, continued to have a huge advantage in fundraising and pulled ahe...

LA Times: West Virginia Could Spell Trouble For Hillary Clinton
2008-05-11 03:08:00
“Irony”? Oops, I guess I messed up again — I’ve done it before and I’ll surely do it again — stay tuned. The Los Angeles Times‘ article is actually entitled “West Virginia Could Spell Trouble For Obama“, when, in FACT, while taking into consideration the recent, controversial, “race-baiting” words of Hillary Clinton Sir Shrillary Diane Rodham Clinton, the exact opposite is true. For those who may have missed it, Shrillary is catching a lot of well-deserved heat for going on the record recently to suggest that SHE should get the Democratic nomination for the presidency, if for no other reason than she would be the most likely of the two to garner the vast majority of the biggotted, blue collar, gap-toothed, inbred “white foke” vote in those-there “all-important Red States”… First, a recap of the latter, from THE one and only “Andrew Sullivan’s” TimesOnline (UK) piece, f...

Wright Goes Wrong -- Throws Obama Off The Bus!
2008-04-29 05:07:00
I was not a big advocate of the attacks on Reverend Wright, but like Senator Obama's admission today, I did see it as a valid political discussion. I was impressed the day after the original story broke when Obama crafted, or rather, delivered an inspirational speech to denounce and claim ignorance of Reverend Wrights comments in the now famous sermon at his church.I was caught up in the questions, and followed in the belief that it would be impossible to divorce Senator Obama from Reverend Wright. I didn't believe that Obama could be 100% clear of the commentary as this preacher brought him to Christianity, married him, and baptised his children. To claim ignorance of his brand of preaching and the content therein seemed highly unlikely to me.Further, I found myself as I tried to decide on a candidate to wonder about Obama's real intentions, and what we really know of his inner beliefs? I questioned how someone so great could be associated with some so low? How could the gr...
