Microsoft playing Nintendo’s game?
2007-10-25 06:22:00
With Microsoft ’s announcement of the Xbox 360 Arcade, the anticipated device looks to be changing how the Xbox targets consumers. According to a Microsoft representative, the company feels that “the timing is right to really focus and turn the spotlight on our family content and, yeah, we feel great.” Believe it or not, Microsoft has inked a deal with Warner Bros. to bring HD Looney Tunes to the Xbox Live Video Marketplace, and more games designed with children in mind will be coming down the pike with the help of this new console. Xbox 360 Arcade (Credit: Microsoft) While I applaud Microsoft for making the jump to children’s games and attempting to attract the all-too-evasive “nontraditional gamer,” isn’t it playing a game that Nintendo already knows the secret to? And if so, is Microsoft barking up the wrong tree? It may surprise you, but the answer is simply no. Microsoft is onto something with this new focus and whether or not you are a...

2007-10-25 06:18:00
.   Matthew Glotzbach, Head of Products, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Enterprise, Google. Matthew Glotzbach, product management director for Google Enterprise, announced the release of IMAP support in Gmail Wednesday at Interop New York. Glotzbach, a keynote speaker, said Gmail account holders can begin using IMAP immediately. He held it up as an example of Google’s attempts at continuous innovation, saying it’s one of many new features Google has added since launching Google Applications in February. “IMAP isn’t new, but bringing it together is,” he said. David Murray, associate product manager for Google, wrote about it in a blog posted Wednesday. “There are two online petitions I’ve signed in my life,” he said. “One was for a ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ movie. The other, which I signed a few months before starting at Google, was for Gmail IMAP… It keeps the same information synched across all devices so th...

Imminent Google backlink update?
2007-10-22 16:35:00
Looks like Google has some behind-the-scenes action. Check out the ever-so-useful Google Webmasters and you’ll see what I mean. Other than a recent revamp, it looks like Google has some heavy server activity, such that it cannot display external or backlinks. Same goes for internal links. What’s unusual is that only these statistics are affected, while the rest are working fine. (more…)

Digg has a glitch
2007-09-30 14:20:00
Digg apparently had a small problem that resulted in Diggs being redirected. This may cause posts showing the “Digg This” button in other sites to show the wrong Digg count, and redirects Diggers to a very old Digg article (it is a Chinese article, now removed pending solving this problem). This problem is probably a glitch, and not ...

2007-09-26 00:52:00
A block away at the Best Buy store on Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, those waiting for the launch of Microsoft’s Halo 3 video game couldn’t have cared less. They had their own epilepsy-inducing lights, after all. New York’s Halo 3 debut stopped short of pyrotechnics, but it was over the top in just about every ...

2007-09-23 04:37:00
Looks like time has come… it appears that a toolbar pagerank update may have hit us without us knowing it at all. While majority of site’s out there still have the same PR (abbreviation for Page Rank ), some sites may have a change in PR (e.g. from no pagerank info to PR0 for some sites). It could be ...

Update: Dang? someone used my site for applying Adsense
2007-09-22 15:19:00
Looks like the rumors of Google approving applicants faster if they have a sizeable amount of content is true. Unfortunately, they didn’t really bothered checking if the site really belonged to the applicant. Yes, PostItLive has been used for applying AdSense , not by me, but by someone else. PostItLive: Content, but no domain?
2007-09-22 04:54:00
So this site has grown quite a bit, and it’s growth is limited because there’s no domain for it. The thing about domains is… it’s a name. I can’t think of any suitable name that’s not taken already. Any part is the amount of writers we have. There are few writers now, that is, unless ...

What? Someone using my email address in spam mail?
2007-09-08 05:17:00
The extent of things people can do just to get money is limitless. This is outrageous - someone used my email address to spoof as its sender in a spam mail, and it is probably delivered to millions (even to my own email). It is a spoofed email, sent via Geocities (proxy/sendmail/SMTP) by an anonymous person. Now I know why ...

Silent Google PR update?
2007-09-04 09:11:00
Its been quite some time since Google last updated its toolbar pagerank records. This is not comfirmed yet, since there are no significant changes in pagerank of numerous sites out there. However, it has been found that sites which originally have no pagerank information for them (since May) have been assigned a pagerank (of 0, probably temporarily; ...

Wordpress 2.3 and planned site upgrades
2007-09-03 12:20:00
We would be upgrading this install of Wordpress to version 2.3 when the final version comes out. It’s not know when Wordpress 2.3 exactly comes out. Changes ...
