Odd Media Player

With all the iPods, Zunes, Sandisks, and Samsungs in the world, you would think many people would not want to get into the market. But out of nowhere a company called Haier have released a portable media device alongside AOL. The Ibiza Rhapsody actually looks to be a pretty feature filled device. The main one being that no PC is required, you can sync and download all your songs and videos via it's WiFi connection. AOL and Rhapsody have gotten in on the device by enabling Rhapsody-To-Go, and the AOL video download services. It also has an FM tuner, and supports many media formats. There are 3 models, a 30GB for ~$320, and a 4GB/8GB flash model for ~$229-$250 at Amazon. Oh and did I mention I think it looks terrible? Android Screenshots

Googles new mobile OS user interface pictures have surfaced, I'm really liking it. So far what I've seen, it has a nice black touch to it. The menu system is cool, there is a little (Mac dock like) scroll bar at the bottom where you can scroll through different options. It has the basics of a mobile OS. The browser is pretty cool in that it seems easy to use, and not a pain. The maps application looked cool. But I thought the coolest part about Android , and the phones it was on, is the 3D capabilities. I saw a video of a touch screen phone running Quake, which was pretty awesome. WiiMote Finger

This is pretty cool. This guy over at Carnegie University figured out a way to use his finger instead of the WiiMote . He rigged up some infra red LEDs, and put a little piece of tape on his finger. Accordion Hero II

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this a joke(correct me if I'm wrong), but apparently a company has created a PC game entitled Accord ion Hero . It's obviously a rip-off of the Guitar Hero games. It supposedly comes with what you would expect, a plastic accordion with little collored buttons. And, of course there is a sequel that was recently "released". Accordion Hero II comes with a more advanced accordion that they call the Strumpf Blue double-bellows accordion. Whoo. I just purchased a copy of the Hellgate : London Collectors Edition today. I have yet to play it much, I'm maybe an hour into it. I'd say it's pretty fun. I started with the Marksman class, where you play like an FPS rather than an RPG. I will probably review it later in the week. Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Review

Here is the second review of my new Nintendo DS Games. This saga in the Legend of Zelda series continues the storyline og the Windwaker game for the Gamecube. You are Link (or whatever your characters name is) and your friend has just been captured by the Ghost Ship. You must go through the Temple of the Ocean King with your phantom hourglass to look for pieces of a seachart, and little fairies, to save your friend. This game is really great. It might be one of the best games for the DS. The controls are the greatest part in my opinion. It is all touch screen based. You walk by pointing where you want to go, you grab things by tapping them, you draw the path of your boomerang, as well as slashing to slash your sword, and drawing a circle to do a roll. Very innovative stuff. All in a seamless, intuitive package. The world you are in is very large, with around 20 islands I would guess. Another really cool thing about the game is your ship. You travel island to island on what looks lik...

Nintendo DS TV Tuner

This has been in the works for a while, and in Japan it's either released, or going to release soon, I forget. Anyways, this is a little cartridge, like any old DS game, that would allow you to actually watch TV from your DS. From what I remember a while back it would have a little antena that sticks out from the cartridge. Heres a video I came across. PS3 Firmware Release

I thought this was kind of cool. The new v2.00 PS3 firmware was released earlier. This update provides PS3 users with a couple of cool features. One is the addition of customized themes, which I thought those that I saw were pretty cool. Another is the ability to remotely turn on your system via a PSP. Not too big of an update though, so if this is part of Sony's effort to improve sales...it most likely will not work.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Sonic Rush Adventure - Review

I'll start out by saying that this is a pretty solid game. It has a nice story, that I actually skipped over because I thought "Hey, this is Sonic , I don't need a plot." Either way, it is there. You start out on your little home island where you have your house, your wave runner dock, and other places. In your house you can access multi-player and WiFi features, as well as missions and unlocks. The cool thing about this game that differs from other Sonics that I have played is the water games. You start out with a wave runner, which is my favorite so far. You then move to faster, larger, and different control schemed ships. Like on one you control it from a side view, and you shoot things with various weapons. On to the classic game play. There are a bunch of islands you visit via water vehicle in which you play 3 games. Act 1, Act 2, and a Boss Battle. The speedy game play is all here, and extra speedy I might add. Google Announces Android

The much rumored Google announcement was today, and it most definitely is not the GPhone - Per Se. Google announced a new open mobile operating system called Android . It will be Google based, have an SDK and have all the Google applications you know and love. I haven't read much about, and there really isn't all that much information other than it will be no single phone. There will be multiple GPhones, from different manufacturers and cell carriers. The first being released on T-Mobile in 2008. Today is a good day for cell phones. Soon mobile devices will be open to use on any network, and possibly for free (best case scenario). Coolest Mouse Ever

It may not be the coolest, but it is up there. Designer Joey Roth created this "Plushy Mouse " that is made of wool felt, and is one solid block. At first I didn't think it was a mouse, but sure enough it had 2 keys and a little optical laser. Most unique mouse I have ever seen, very cool design.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

New DS Games

Well today I got 2 new DS games. I went to my local GameTrader, which is a quality gaming store like EB Games or Gamestop in that you can trade in games for credit. So, I traded in 6 games and got $62 in store credit. Yes, this store gives a ton of credit for games. I decided to buy Sonic Rush Adventure, and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I had heard good things about Zelda, and the Sonic game looked cool. I haven't played much of either, so reviews will come later in the week. Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Awesome Gaming Keyboard

I just saw this and instantly felt the need to buy it. It just looks cool to me. The Saitek Cyborg keyboard is a gaming keyboard that has a bunch of features and such. Some include: Key backlighting, WASD keys are grey instead of black, touch sensitive control panel, 12 programmable keys, and a few USB ports as well. It looks to be a cool keyboard. I currently have the ZBoard, and I like it, but I rarely ever use the other "Gaming " keyset, so I might end up getting this keyboard. Though, it is $80, but compared to other gaming keyboards the price isn't too much.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

New PS2...Again

And you thought Sony was done with the PS2 line. Well, supposedly in 2008 Sony will release a more compact PS2 for a reduced price of $99. Seems like a good deal to me. I don't know how much more compact they can get the system though. I mean, the newer ones are pretty dang small compared to my old big one. The console would also have a built in power supply, meaning it's able to run off battery? (Guess) Anyway, it's still pretty cool. Gaming Magazines of the Past

I recently came across this on Digg.com. It's a feature that shows some of the major gaming magazines first issues, then the most current ones, to give you an idea of how the gaming industry, as well as the magazines themselves, has changed. I thought it was neat to see that one of the first game mags came out in 1981... I'm sure not many people still have it today, but to me that is impressive. Very cool article. Any fan of games, or game magazines owes it to themself to check it out. I myself subscribe to PC Gamer, and Gamepro magazines, and I'd say they are pretty good quality publications. Invention of the Year

This surprised me. Apple's iPhone won Time Magazine's Invention of the Year award. I thought this was odd, seeing as the cell phone has already been invented. Sure, I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone won the Innovation of the Year award (if there is one). I mean, yeah, the iPhone is a pretty cool device in general. Looks slick, has good apps to boot, and it's an Apple product, so theres a fan base behind it. But there are other touch screen phones, that may not be as good, but still exist. This rumor is back up and running. Supposedly Google is in talks with Verizon to put a GPhone program suite on their phones. So if this comes out to be true, it will most likely be like an operating system for phones. Still, it's pretty cool.
