GP2X F-200 Released

This cool new gaming/homebrew device was released today. The GP2X F-200 is a neat little console that comes with a 3.5" LCD touch screen, as well as games built in, and the ability to store, and play files (music, pictures, video and even e-books). The real cool thing about this device is that it supports emulation. So you can install an emulator and play your favorite NES or Genesis games on it if you so desire. All this for only ~$170. GUITAR HERO III

HOORAY. Guitar Hero 3 was released today. AND I GOT IT. I've played it for the past few hours and it is really good. I bought the PS2 version, just the game. I have 2 guitars already so I didn't want to spend the extra $40 for just a wireless one. This game is amazing. I've played the first, second, and 80's versions, but none of them can top GH3. With over 70 songs it will take a loooong time till you get bored. With a lot of songs being very hard (Raining Blood), you might also get frustrated. So far I've played and beaten 39/42 expert career songs, and my fingers are worn to death. Song selection is very good, a little weak at the beginning in that the songs are boring to play. But once you get to the 6th stage of the game the songs start picking up. I couldn't ask for more in a game. Easy to pickup and learn, great replayability, great multiplayer fun, online play (on PS3 or Xbox 360 versions only). Overall superb game. 10/10Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Leopard Is Here

Ah, yet another Mac OS to not care about. But yes, today the Leopard operating system was released to the masses. The main features in this new OS are: a new Finder upgrade that includes a Cover-Flow like system, Quick Look - a way to preview files without opening them, a new easy way to back up your files called Time Machine, different workspaces called Spaces in which you can have separate desktops (like Linux), and Boot Camp for dual-booting a different OS. It's not too revolutionary of an update, but it looks to be pretty cool. I'm not the biggest Mac fan, but I believe they are going in the right direction.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Cool iPod Dock

The company boynq has released a very cool iPod dock / alarm clock radio (with multiple iPod support, including the iPhone and new line of iPods). You can get it in black and white, and the cool thing is it's design. There is a cube shaped speaker that the radio leans on to stand. The radio/dock/alarm clock itself is split into 4 little cubes. One shows minutes, one shows hours, one shows the radio station, and one is the empty space where the dock is. To me this is the coolest iPod dock out there. Most unique design, and very stylish. Too bad it's only out in Europe, and there's no word if it will ever get to the states. *Sigh*Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Portal Wallpaper

I really like the swirl thing, so I decided to take the logo and just put it on a black background, to make my own wallpaper. I am pretty proud of it (even though it isn't very complicated), since I haven't done much image editing ever. PS3 Vs. Xbox 360

Well, I got a new PS3 game yesterday. One problem is I don't have a PS3. You see, I sold some things for a fundraiser and got to pick a prize out of a box. The prizes varied from Wii, PSP, PS3, and Xbox games, as well as skateboards and other useless crap. So I picked a copy of Madden '08 for the PS3, thinking "Hey, I'll just sell it for some money". Now when I think about it, having a PS3 wouldn't be that bad... So I'm thinking about picking up one of the new 80gb ones with Motorstorm pre-packaged in with it. Anyone have anything good to say about the PS3? Maybe someone that has both it and an Xbox 360 . I've been debating which one to get since they both have very similar games, aside from few exclusives (plus if I get a PS3 thats one less game to buy). iPhone SDK

It will now be here. What all you hackers have been waiting for. Apple announced that they will be developing a iPhone SDK (which stands for Source Developer Kit, correct me if I'm wrong). The SDK is due out to be released in February. This is great news, and opens up peoples minds about the iPhone. 3rd-party apps add a lot of ability to hardware. If I could only run Microsoft software on my PC, I guaruntee you I would be running linux, or even a Mac. So far the only 3rd-party apps for the iPhone have been "hacked" into it. So there aren't too many. But soon there will be a plethora of games and software made just for your $400 piece of machinery.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Orange Box Reviews: Half Life 2: Episode 1

Yes, I know this isn't a very new game, but it did come with the Orange box, and I hadn't played it yet. I'll start out my review by saying that this is a very good, classic Half-Life style horror-shooter. I've played maybe 2/3 or 3/4 of the way through the game, and it is GOOD. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. When you start out, you are talking to Alyx (your partner, same as in Half-Life 2). She gives you only a gravity gun, but then supes it up. With this blue gravity gun you can pretty much pick up anything. So killing the combine (bad guys) will be a cinch. Throughout the game you run into many mini-puzzles that require you to think outside the box, and use your gravity gun to do so. There is a lot of fast paced action, as well as a little slow parts that have story dialog. Overall a really great game. If you played Half-Life 2 you must get this. It continues the story, and is of course, another Half-Life masterpiece from those at Valve. If you haven't played HL2...

Transformers DVD

Well, I picked up my copy today. Not just the normal one, I got a super deluxe 2-disc one. That TRANSFORMS. It's pretty awesome. The DVD case itself is an Optimus Prime transformer, and the discs are in a case on his back. One of the coolest DVD cases I've ever seen. You can pick it up at Target for ~$25. Not sure if other stores have it availiable, it might just be a Target thing. I have yet to watch the DVD, but I have seen it before, you can read my review if you want. This is a cool website. You can upload the time you spend while the little hourglass replacement for Macs is on. So, say you load a program, you count how long the "Marble of Doom " (as the site calls it) shows, and post it to this website. Halo 3 Helmet

This is cool. Apparently this guy found a way to be able to wear those Master Chief helmets that come with the Halo 3 legendary edition. You're probably thinking they should have been wearable in the first place, but hey now you can do it yourself. It doesn't look very easy, because you have to take apart the whole helmet, but it's a solution to the ever-growing complaints that people want to wear the little helmets.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Gutsy Gibbon Released

That's right. Ubuntu 7.10, aka Gutsy Gibbon was released today. This is my favorite linux distro, so I am pretty excited. I have used Wubi in the past to run linux, but sadly I will have to wait a few days till the new version of that is released. You can check out the new things in 7.10 in my previous post. If you are thinking about try linux, don't think, do. Ubuntu is the most user friendly linux that I have come across. And if you have any sort of a brain you will be able to figure it out fairly fast. So go download Ubuntu, and have fun. The 3D effects are AWESOME.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

HTC Vogue Release Date

It is now official. The HTC Touch successor for Sprint will be released on November 4th. The renamed Vogue will sport 3G, a camera, and the usual text messaging, voice features, etc. What's really interesting about this phone though is that it is basically Sprint's iPhone. I've been watching this phone for a little while, and I think, if I get a new phone soon, this might be the one. It has a cool touch screen interface, with very cool 3D menus, which I like. Orange Box Reviews: Portal

Welcome to the second of a 3 part series in which I review the games in Valve's Orange Box. The name of the game is Portal , and surprisingly it involves portals. The premise of the game is that you are a test subject for a company called Aperture Labs, in which you test out their new gun that shoots portals. There are really only 2 characters in the game, you, and the computer that talks to you and gives you instructions on your journey. The great thing about this game is in fact the computer voice. It makes jokes, and great references, all in a monotone Microsoft Sam-esque computer voice. Now to the game play. It is fantastic. At first you can only shoot one (blue) portal, and the other orange portal is already stationed for you. But a couple test chambers (basically levels) into it you get the option to shoot both orange and blue portals. The whole idea is that you shoot portals around, and go through them to get to the finish line, which is an elevator that leads you to another ...

Everyone knew it was going to eventually come. That's right, iTunes will very soon have their DRM free iTunes Plus songs for only $0.99 Most likely It's Apple's attempt to compete for the people that are switching over to the new Amazon MP3 store which surprisingly, sells DRM free MP3s at $0.99 a pop. See any resemblance? But hey, who am I kidding, It's still good news. Even though I rarely buy from the store, and it just so happens that I have recently bought a couple iTunes plus albums. Music Monday - Week 19

For this weeks Music Monday , I thought I would do something different. I just want to point a music phenomenon out. If you haven't heard, Radiohead (a super-popular british rock band) put thier new album, In Rainbows, on thier website, and left you to put in whatever price you like. Thats only part of the amazingness. On the social music site Last.fm EVERY SINGLE song on the Top 10 songs of the week is off the new Radiohead album. It's crazy. I downloaded the album, for $0, just to see what was so great about them, as I had not heard any Radiohead songs. I gotta say, I'm not too fond of it. Though I'm not a huge alt rock fan to begin with, none of it appealed to me. Oh well.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

iPod Classic UI put on iPod Video

This is awesome. These guys apparently created an old iPod Video firmware that looks very similar, if not exact, to the new iPod Classic interface. I thought this was really cool because if you have an iPod video already, the only reasons to upgrade to a new iPod classic are the new interface, and more storage. But, if you already have all the storage you will need, this is a great free alternative to shelling out $250+ for a new iPod.Thank you for subscribing to my blog!

Orange Box Reviews: Team Fortress 2

Seeing as I've have played this game the most so far, I will go ahead and review it. I think Team Fortress 2 is a pretty AWESOME game. The gameplay is gold, the graphics are great and unique, and the diversity in gameplay is great too. Also there is a great stats system, and little achievments you get when you, well, achieve stuff. I'll start with the gameplay. You get to choose from 9 different classes: Scout (run fast, double jump), Soldier (rocket launcher), Pyro (flame thrower), Heavy (+ health, mini-gun), Demoman (explosives, sticky bombs), Engineer (turrets,teleports), Sniper (sniper rifle), Medic (healing gun, needle rifle), and the Spy (disguse as enemy, invisible). All that, plus you can switch them out as you please every time you die. Ok, now the graphics are very cool. They are pretty cartoonish, yet can deal out carnage like it were real life.
