Not Just Any MySpace Resource
2007-08-29 11:08:00 WhateverLife is a website that provides free MySpace layouts and other things. Unlike most of those types of websites, this one actually looks good. It is run by a 17-year-old high school dropout. She must be really good at what she does, because she is making a lot of money from this. There are a couple ... Use Labels As Folders in Gmail
2007-08-29 01:41:00 When I first started to use Gmail at least a couple years ago, I wasn’t very fond of the labels. I didn’t agree with it. Might as well call them tags, because they do the same thing. Everyone is so used to folders, so calling it labels and not removing the e-mail from the inbox ... Saving Money With Deal Locker
2007-08-28 15:06:00 Whenever I purchase something online, before checking out, I always search the Internet for some coupons. Sometimes I find one, sometimes I don’t. The part I hate about saving is searching for the coupon itself. Deal Locker makes this process easier. Deal Locker is a place for friends to help other friends save money with coupons ... 2007-08-27 23:46:00 Currently, in the sidebar underneath Sponsors, it’s kind of empty as Text-Link-Ads hasn’t given me much, yet. I would like to offer free advertising every month. Your link will be placed below Sponsors in its own section called Related Links. If you have a website or blog that fits the content of Soft Tech Reviews ... Thank You Akismet
2007-08-27 22:21:00 Although I don’t receive a lot of real comments from real people, I do receive a lot of spam. The ones that either place a whole bunch of links with keywords that would probably fill your entire screen or leave a comment that has nothing to do with the entry that was commented on. And, ... 2007-08-27 07:24:00 I use Google Read er to subscribe to RSS feeds, because I like being able to access my feeds where ever I am, but also, since I subscribe to so many, it doesn’t take up space on my hard drive. I decided that I would share any feed items that I think you, the reader, might enjoy ... More About: Updates , Google Reader

Alzheimer?s Memory Walk
2007-08-24 21:25:00 Alzheimer’s is something I heard about when I was around maybe 13 years old when I found out that my grandpa had Alzheimer’s. Being that I was still young, I didn’t realize what it really could do, except change the person who has it. I just knew something was wrong. I used to go where ... Coke Zero: Life As It Should Be
2007-08-23 16:00:00 Coke zero is a drink with real taste, zero sugar and also a new website that allows you to direct your own tiny movie and save it so you can share it with others. Life as it should be is Coke Zero ’s campaign. It’s really fun and easy to do with black and white films that Coca Cola has collected. You will be asked to fill in words for the character(s) to say. Also change the way the voice sounds by moving a slider to the left or right causing the voice to sound slow or fast. There is even a tips button that will help you out with this, for example: using periods or commas to change how the person says the line. Later, your movie competes with other movies for a high rating. I tried out The Secret and it shows a man and a woman on the beach, and the man is whispering something into the woman’s ear. She says, “Oh _____, tell me your secret.” I added Joe for the blank and then it asks me to fill in what the man says, “I was hired to be here with you.&... More About: General , Coke

Free Web-Phone Service
2007-08-23 05:17:00 I just heard on FOX News about this. I stayed up until 11:00 PM EST just to hear about it, only to miss it! So, I searched for it and found it on their website. A company in Silicon Valley, Ooma Inc. wants to provide customers with free, unlimited domestic phone calls. This would require a broadband Internet service. The catch is that you would have to buy a gizmo for $399! That might sound expensive, but considering how much it costs per year to pay for phone service, it has to be worth it, right? They will also give you a second line for free with voice mail and conference calling. Ooma Inc. began selling the gizmos last month with an invitation-only offer to U.S. residents. AT&T Simplified Paper Billing
2007-08-23 04:55:00 I just read over at Justine Ezarik’s blog that she received a free text message from AT&T (as did most other customers) about receiving simplified paper billing. Go check out the video Justine made to share this with everyone. We are simplifying your paper bill, removing itemized detail. To view all detail go to att.com/mywireless. Still need full paper bill? Call 611 That’s great! I’m sure a lot of people will be happy to know that they will be receiving smaller bills rather than packages, only to find out it’s just a bill! New Microsoft Tool: Tafiti
2007-08-23 04:46:00 Microsoft just launched a new tool called Tafiti . Tafiti is a new kind of search engine tool that uses Silverlight, Microsoft’s Flash. Tafiti looks really nice on the outside, but it’s basically just the same search engine allowing you to search the web, photos, news and more. If you like looks over simplicity, you’ll like Tafiti. Tafiti is slightly slower than just using Live Search. One feature Tafiti provides is saving results. I really need to start saving my results, because I find that I am always looking for something again and again. You are not required to use Internet Explorer, because it works with other browsers, including Firefox as long as you install Silverlight. I found a problem with that though. Silverlight told me there was an update when I went to Tafiti and tried it out, but after I went to sign in, it won’t let me use Tafiti now. It says I need to install Silverlight, which is already installed, even after restarting the browser. But, ... More About: Technology , Microsoft , Tool

Skype Outtage
More articles from this author:2007-08-21 01:26:00 A lot of people were unable to use Skype for two days. They claim it’s due to a Windows Update, which was caused by everyone’s computer restarting and logging into Skype all at once. That’s a good reason, but shouldn’t Skype already be prepared for a lot of people signing in at once? I guess that wasn’t entirely the only reason behind it being down. The disruption was initiated by a massive restart of our user?s computers across the globe within a very short timeframe as they re-booted after receiving a routine software update. Normally Skype?s peer-to-peer network has an inbuilt ability to self-heal, however, this event revealed a previously unseen software bug within the network resource allocation algorithm which prevented the self-healing function from working quickly. Regrettably, as a result of this disruption, Skype was unavailable to the majority of its users for approximately two days. More About: General 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
