Illustrator tutorial - Grunge sunburst effect
2008-04-12 06:34:00 As promised before, today I’ll show you how to draw the sunburst shape and apply the grunge effect on it as well. Then, we will learn on how to save our sunburst shape to symbol so that you’ll never need to create them over and over again. And finally, I will show you a little tricks how to apply the grunge effect on text. Anyhow, here we go.Software: Adobe Illustrator CSStep 1Create a New Document with 500px x 500px setting. Select RGB Color for Color Mode.Go to View > Snap to Grid (Shift + Command/Ctrl + ").Step 2Select the Rectangle Tool or press M and click once anywhere on the artboard. You’ll see a popup window. I visited a lot of design blog/website everyday and see their artworks including these funky design. I told to myself -> Ohh..that was really easy.But when I'm trying to design it by myself, my head start spinning in the air. Yes, it quite hard if you're a newbie like me. You've to consider a lot of things - elements to use, colors, shapes, placement, typography, theme and so on..So in this illustration, I've use the sunburst shape as the background and the purplish colors as well. Illustrator tutorial - Trendy circles
2008-03-22 05:32:00 Well, I see lots of cool design elements have been applied by the graphics designer lately. And one of them is the “trendy circles”. So, today we’ll learn how to draw and simply apply a color to it. It was a simple tutorial anyway and maybe it will be useful for your design element in the future.Software: Adobe Illustrator CSStep 1Create New Document with any Artboard setup and select RGB color for Color Mode. I used 500px x 500px setting in this tutorial.Step2Select the Ellipse Tool (or just press L). Click once anywhere on the artboard and enter Width:100px, Height: 100px. OK.Step 3While the circle is on selected, double click the Scale Tool. Enter Uniform Scale: 80, click Copy.And you’ll get something like this:-Step 4Repeat Step 3 twice. And guess what, there is totally no pen tool involved along this tutorial! This is the trick that I used to draw the Illustrator CS icon (not really looks like it). Somehow it also looks like a Sunflower for me. Hmm..Software : Adobe Illustrator CSStep 1Create a New Document with 500px x 500px Artboard Setup. If you browse through one of my archive page, you'll see that it will only list my blogger post title and the date instead of full content of my post (main content, time, no. of comment, etc)And of course, you can follow the instruction on how to do this in the original article on Blogger Help. Last time I've posted about numbered MSN results and today I just found a way to numbered the Google results.Just install this javascript and DONE. As simple as that.And oh, ya. This script was working on Firefox (not sure about IE) with the Greasemonkey has been installed on it.Now go to Google and search for any keywords. Luckily, there is a little trick which you can apply to make your post title to be clickable. I've applied it in this blog. Try to visit my homepage and click on my post title. Hehe..Ok, simply follow these tips:-For New Blogger:-It's pretty simple for New Blogger. Just go to your Dashboard. Go to Settings > Archiving > and Enable Post Pages? set to Yes. Gradient tool is a great tool in Illustrator and it’s really important to create a great gradient effect in graphics design. I also have used it in my previous Illustrator tutorial. Ok, here we go!Software: Adobe Illustrator CSStep 1Open your Illustrator program and create new document. But how about 6 to 7 tabs? It's quite difficult to remember each tab position and maybe you'll just ignore this feature end up using your mouse click instead.Luckily, there is a great Firefox extension that will be able to numbered your tab.Fancy Numbered Tabs will replaces the close tab graphic with numbers to help with quick tab navigation via Ctrl + [1-9]. Unlike Yahoo, MSN search engine doesn't provide any number beside it results. It would take you a lots of time if you want to know the position of any website.
