Apple provides tips for long iPhone battery life
2007-08-17 17:01:00
Apple provides tips for long iPhone battery life By Justin Berka | Published: July 23, 2007 - 03:18PM CT One of the biggest criticisms of the iPhone is that, unlike many other mobile phones (particularly smartphones), it lacks a removable battery.... The iPhone has pretty good battery life compared to many other phones, though, so the need for battery replacement won't be as great, but $85 is still a lot to pay for a battery. Perhaps in response to criticisms, Apple has put up an informative and rather amusing site to help iPhone users keep their batteries in good shape.... iPhones need to be kept out of places like hot cars, and also may need to be removed from their cases if the case makes them hot when charging. The usual battery life suspects make an appearance too, reminding you to keep your phone locked as much as possible and to turn your Bluetooth and WiFi off when not needed.... Last but not least, keep your iPhone updated, since future firmware versions may help your...

Low Cost Batteries? Really?
2007-08-17 16:46:00
I hate buying a new product (i.e. the iPhone) knowing that the battery has to be replaced through it's original manufacturer and that its purchase costs a fortune. For a battery you say? Oh Yes! Some brands hike up their prices and can sell some batteries upwards to $400. Take a breath, not all is lost. Many websites exist for that kind of problem and offer great deals on batteries that you can replace yourself. The best I've found, with the best deals and greatest service is LowCost Batteries .com. LCB offers batteries for practically any product that exists in the market at an unbeatable price.

Bloggers and Readers: What has worked best for you in increasing interactiv
2007-08-17 16:13:00
This builds a sense of community and fosters improved communications between the blogger and the readers, as well as among the readers of the blog.... In this article, I’ll offer a few of my own tips, but I am also asking you, my readers, to contribute your own input in the comments. You can also take up this conversation on your blogs if you wish and I’ll visit you and we can have a multi-blog town meeting of sorts!... Entice and encourage readers to add their own points of view to the discussion.... You can expand on a central question by explaining it in detail in a post and then pop the question at the end of your post coupled with a strong call to action to your readers.... Take the time to read them and comment on at least one of their articles. Your reader took the time to comment on your blog, you should show them the same courtesy.... However, I would suggest that emailing each new commenter with a simple thank you message can do wonders. The recipient of that e...

Planning a wedding? Make it happen online!
2007-08-16 20:49:00
You get this invite from your cousin Chuck, he's getting married to his cute neighbor Becky. They have decided on the date and locale: next month at the church hall downtown. They've written all the details of their wonderful day on a tacky little piece of paper that explodes in confetti when you take it out of the envelope. You laugh and then you get the vacuum cleaner. How many times will you receive wedding invitations like that one...... In the digital era, why not take advantage of your knowledge and of what is available to you to make this special day even more special. Of course you could hire a wedding planner like the celebrities do, but who wants the hassle and the enormous fees related to Gigi LeCoeur planning your weeding. Let HitWedding s.com help you like they've done for thousands of happy couples. This amazingly thourough website covers aspects of your wedding day that even the bride wouldn't have thought of.

Amazon’s aStore Gets a Feature Upgrade
2007-08-16 20:28:00
found on www.problogger.net Amazon have emailed publishers in their Associates Program to let them know that their aStore shop tool has had an upgrade of features. These upgrades include the following: Access to every Amazon.com category and subcategory for automatically populating your product categories – If Amazon.com has created a group for it, such as Biographies of Frank Sinatra, you can create a category page to automatically pull in those products and organize these categories however you like. Unlimited category/subcategory nesting – Create as many levels of product categories and subcategories as you like, and populate the products in each category by Amazon best-sellers, hand-picking them, or importing a Listmania list. Build your own category navigation – Advanced users can take integration with their existing websites a step farther by hiding the aStore category navigation and building their own directly within the core site navigation. There is a site called PayPerPost that has gotten a lot of attention in the past few months and offers advertisers a direct approach to marketing their products or services to bloggers from all around the world.... When I first signed up to PayPerPost, I first discovered how professional and neat the site looked and felt. It takes a few days to get your already running blog set-up within the system and once you're up and running you can view the different opportunities offered to brand new posties. The number one feature, in my opinion, of this site is the amazing forum with almost instant help from more experienced members. Everyone is helping out and answering questions, there is truly no competition and everyone feels like there are enough opportunities for all posties at one time. Most bloggers that I've spoken to have and will use their money earned on PayPerPost on their current bills and as an extra cushion for a sweeter life. Some run multiple blogs (20+) and have 2 ...

8 ways to make professional looking video blogs that will attract users and
2007-08-14 21:10:00
Browsing through Darren's ProBlogger website got me thinking about one aspect of blogging that I use to take part in: video blogging. As a video professional, I love this media and find it appealing and easier to use in regards with tutorials or commentary. I understand that a lot of users still like to read at their own pace but after reading this article you might find a few ways to cater to your old and new users with captivating video blogs.... Understanding fully what you're about to explain, comment on or give a tutorial on. Most well known vloggers don't just stick a camera in their faces and start yapping.... Are you slouching in your chair with the kids running around behind you?... That doesn't mean you must wear a suit and a tie and stand behind a podium but you need to show an image that will convey approachability and professionalism. A good way to achieve that is to clean up the clutter on your desk, be careful as to what shows up in the background. If need ...

7 Reasons Why Keeping the iPhone Locked Down is Stupid and Arrogant
2007-08-14 15:35:00
I say easily because if you’d read my book (iPod and iTunes Hacks) you’ll know that with some trickery (ok, a lot of trickery) you can do things like install Linux on the iPod, and customize the interface somewhat.... By not allowing the numerous creative and innovative developers out there in the Apple community access to the iPhone Apple is simply stifling innovation.... - Third-party calendars that people actually use (Now-Up-To-Date) - The office suite - Any number of interesting iTunes add-ons and additions - Social software, ie, tie-ins to Facebook, Digg, Macitt, etc. that Apple would never do 2.... Verizon is so wonky that they take any interface designed by any mobile device (including the much-lauded Blackberry) and make it their own.... Stupid Reason #4: Niche markets and use-cases are lost Apple has shown a bizarre indifference to the corporate market over the years.... Is there any reason why iPhones couldn’t be used in hospitals, by UPS Fed-ex, etc, by profes...

Eight Financial Reasons You Should Use Mac OS
2007-08-10 21:41:00
The advent of Vista and Mac OS X, along with the ascension of Linux, add new dimensions to a long-time controversy. Now more than ever before, the Mac OS is the most cost effective operating system of all. The debate over the financial advantages of various OSes first sparked around 15 years ago, when the Gartner Group industry analyst firm came up with the concept of total cost of ownership (TCO). Since then, a number of other theoretical models have also been coined to weigh the business pros and cons of various OSes.read more | digg story...
