Apple Signs European iPhone Deals
2007-08-23 03:00:00 Apple Inc. has just signed its first deals with three European mobile phone service providers. Germany’s T-Mobile Deutschland, France’s Orange SA, and Britain’s O2 (UK) have signed exclusive deals with Apple to sell the iPhone in Europe. Apple will be receiving 10% of the revenue generated from sales of voice and data plans for the iPhone, and the iPhone is to be expected for sale in Europe close to the Christmas season. Apple is planning to officially announce the deals at the IFA Consumer Electronics Exhibition in Berlin next week. The Apple iPhone is expected to be a big hit in Europe, however there is still no word on its release in Canada or the rest of the world. It has also been reported that Vodafone has been outbid as an iPhone provider in Europe, although it initially was supposed to be one of the iPhone’s European providers. The new product from Microsoft has been seen selling for between $150-200 in various countries.
