Apple Signs European iPhone Deals

Apple Inc. has just signed its first deals with three European mobile phone service providers. Germany’s T-Mobile Deutschland, France’s Orange SA, and Britain’s O2 (UK) have signed exclusive deals with Apple to sell the iPhone in Europe. Apple will be receiving 10% of the revenue generated from sales of voice and data plans for the iPhone, and the iPhone is to be expected for sale in Europe close to the Christmas season. Apple is planning to officially announce the deals at the IFA Consumer Electronics Exhibition in Berlin next week. The Apple iPhone is expected to be a big hit in Europe, however there is still no word on its release in Canada or the rest of the world. The new product from Microsoft has been seen selling for between $150-200 in various countries. Windows Home Server was released to manufacturers about a month ago (July 16th), and was then handed off to Microsoft’s internal distribution teams and hardware partners. From there, WHS was shipped to New Zealand and Australia, the UK being its next destination.
