Windows Vista SP1 Pre-BETA Released
2007-08-07 18:29:00
It’s about time - Windows Vista SP1 pre-BETA has been released secretly to a few select testers. The pre-BETA’s build number 6001.16549 is indeed very odd, but it’s expected to be altered when the final BETA is released publicly. Although I reported earlier that the SP1 BETA was due for July, unfortunately Microsoft dropped another delay on us (typical), and we’ll just have to wait a bit longer until we can get our hands on the BETA. Microsoft has possibly been using different build numbers for different testers in order to trace leaks, so if you’re hoping to find a leaked version of the BETA, you’re out of luck. Although, the Vista SP1 BETA hasn’t come alone - Windows XP has been graced with an early, private BETA of a service pack as well - Service Pack 3 to be exact. The XP SP3 has been sent out for private testing, and not a lot of information has been given about it, although it should be expected to be released around the same time as...

Fake Steve Jobs Unmasked
2007-08-06 01:11:00
Fake Steve Jobs has been unmasked today as Forbe’s Daniel Lyons. Fake Steve has managed to keep his identity secret for so long, and has finally been revealed today by the New York Times, as he ranted about in his latest blog post. Mr. Lyons claimed that he was “stunned that it took this long” to reveal who he really was, as many have been attempting to find out for so very long. Lyons quotes: “I have not been that good at keeping it a secret. I’ve been sort of waiting for this call for months.” Daniel Lyons is the author of 2 fictional novels, most recently being “Dog Days” in 1998. This October, Da Capo Press will be releasing Lyons’ newest novel, “Options: The Secret Life of Steve Jobs , a Parody” in light of his recent occupation as the Fake Steve Jobs . New York Times has discovered Mr. Lyons as being Fake Steve by conversing with his book publisher, who refused to reveal Fake Steve’s identity, and then comparing the...

Old Mac Keyboards No Longer Shipping
2007-08-05 20:51:00
Although no one is certain, it does appear that Apple will no longer be shipping out old Mac keyboards. Best Buy and other retailers claim that they are no longer receiving old Mac keyboards, and rumour has it that new keyboards, along with the possibility of new Macintosh desktops are getting closer. The new Mac keyboards are going to be much different than the older models, and a comparison is as follows: New Mac keyboard (top), old Mac keyboard (bottom). (Click on the image to view it in full size.) As you can see, there are many evident differences in the new keyboards, and I personally like the new design much better than the old one. The new keyboard is much more slim, sleek, stylish, and effective. Of course, these keyboards don’t necessarily mark the coming of the new iMac, but it certainly is a big possibility.
