Water Purifying Device
2008-03-03 01:00:00
We know that some people are quite weary of drinking water from certain places because of concerns that it may not be pure. Well, this new device will not only check for its purity but it will actually purify it if it isn?t. It does this by a process of disinfection by neutralising any chemical that might exist in the water. The disinfection is carried out by producing a beam of Ultraviolet light that kills the bacteria present in the water. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Tracking and Emergency Service for the Vulnerable
2008-03-02 02:39:00
We have reviewed one or two GPS trackers and tracking services before, but this one is a bit different in that it combines tracking as well as an emergency service. It works like others using GPS technology to locate a person wearing the tracker but has a comprehensive round the clock support system too. A person can be tracked using the Buddi tracking service utilising one of three routes: online, the phone or by text. For example, when tracking online they need only to log in to the Buddi website where there is detailed map showing the location. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Metal Detector for Children - Developing a Child?s Inquisitive Mind
2008-03-01 23:19:00
Metal detectors are a good way to develop a child?s curious mind, not to mention providing hours of fun in the backyard, the park, the beach or any other dry patch of land on hot summer days. A lot of children like to play detectives and metal detectors can satisfy this need adequately. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Covert Bodyworn Button Camera with Portable Video Recorder
2008-02-29 11:20:00
The body worn camera kit consists of a MPEG video recorder unit and a tiny pinhole camera where the lens looks like a normal black button. The idea of the unit is that you conceal the camera about your person or hidden in a bag for covert filming. Since the camera lens is hidden in the button, you?re able to place the camera where it has a greater field of view without attracting attention. Pakatak kindly provided me with their body worn camera kit to review, and I must say that I am very impressed (and that doesn?t happen very often). In this review, I?ll highlight the best features of both the recorder unit and the camera. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Self-Destructing Laptop Aims to Protect Confidential Data
2008-02-28 12:12:00
Having a laptop stolen can expose vital information that can be used and manipulated by crooks. Despite recent high profile cases of stolen laptops, people continue to lose them either as a result of being stolen or through carelessness on the part of the owner. Although passwords are installed on operating systems, networks and other important applications, these can be hacked by the more determined thieves. Encryption has been the main way to combat data theft till now, a new system of protecting laptops uses slightly different methods, however. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. A Camera That Lets You Record What Is Happening While You Drive
2008-02-27 11:46:00
A lot of us have been in a car one time or another wishing we had a video camera to record something we had witnessed or even been involved in. As a result, we are left in despair because we have no material proof of the incident. Now things might be different. This rear view recorder with a 2.5in LCD screen records what the driver might see ahead and also behind. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Anti-Theft Card to Protect From Pickpocketing
2008-02-25 16:20:00
Pickpocketing is rife on busy streets and public transport such as the underground; in most cases people are totally oblivious that they have been subjected to theft only to realise long after it has occurred. It?s not just theft, many people also lose their belongings by dropping them. Some pickpockets are very well-skilled and can even steal from people that have taken good deal of care to safeguard their belongings. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Secure Passwords With This Keyring Device
2008-02-22 13:53:00
One of our recent reviews was a password manager of a different kind. That particular device was a biometric solution, this is a more standard fare, but not necessary any less secure. The Mandylion password storage device hopes to make the task of remembering passwords a little less taxing. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Feedback - Answers to Questions I Receive From Readers
2008-02-21 02:24:00
I get quite a lot of feedback from readers, some of it is people seeking advice on certain issues, so I have decided to take a bit of time to answer a few of these. I have tried to be as specific as possible when answering them. For privacy, I have only used the first name of the person (where provided) who sent in the question. We will do more of this from time to time, so please do not hesitate to ask a question if you feel you need advice on whatever is bugging you. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Remembering Passwords - A Thing of the Past With Fingerprint Technology?
2008-02-20 11:31:00
The device is Eikon Digital Privacy Manager from Upek. It is a biometric security solution that bypasses the need for creating passwords. It uses fingerprint technology to provide access to accounts which would otherwise require entering passwords manually to log in. Although fingerprint technology as a concept is not radically new, it certainly is for the purpose of password management for the consumer market. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. A GSM Earpiece That Lets You Cheat in Exams
2008-02-19 02:06:00
This is a micro-size wireless spy earpiece. Its extremely small and designed for people that need instructions sent to them without anyone else being able to tell. You may have seen earpieces worn by television presenters having instructions radioed to them by a director. Those are usually visible with an earpiece attached to an ear or a piece of wire hanging by the side of an ear, although modern pieces are are much better at hiding it from the viewers. This device, on the other hand, is designed to be totally invisible, making it conducive to a scenario involving surveillance. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. A Car That Drives Underwater to be Showcased
2008-02-15 15:05:00
A company by the name of Rinspeed has become the first to develop a car that can run underwater. This brings back memories of the scene with Roger Moore in James Bond film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ where his car plaunges into the water and transforms into a submarine, only this time its for real and not on the big screen. Spy video car - Spy on friends in the dark
2008-02-12 01:12:00
Kids will love the spy video car and even some adults might like some of its features, too. The unique new feature of this spy video car is the video camera with infrared night vision. This enables you to spy in the dark. This is a great feature as anyone would notice a remote car coming up to them in broad daylight, however, at night the remote spy car can easily hide just a few feet away in darkness but with the ability to send video back to you. Is your partner cheating on you? Find out for sure
2008-02-08 12:49:00
When someone thinks their partner might be involved in an affair outside their relationship, doubts can persist and linger so much as to want to confront them, but knowing it can ruin a relationship, it is better to get some sort of proof before doing that. Surveillance or spying is always an idea that can be contemplated, however, there can often be hindrances as carrying out surveillance is not always practical because a person might take great care to avoid detection or the cost of using spy tools can be an obstacle. Security through your door
2008-02-06 11:40:00
Door scopes are quite common in some crime-ridden areas where people are afraid to open the door without first having a close look. The same is also true in homes of many elderly people. Because of the vulnerability, a door scope can be a good source of comfort for those who are slightly ill at ease. A natural progression from a door scope would be to provide video surveillance by installing a camera. This spyhole camera does just that. It is fitted with discretion in mind and no one from the outside will be any the wiser that there is actually a spy camera filming them. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Was it right to bug the MP?s conversation?
2008-02-05 11:57:00
Over the last few days an interesting development has been headlining the news in the UK. An MP (member of Parliament) had his conversation with a terror suspect awaiting deportation to the US, bugged. The conversation between Babar Ahmed, a computer expert who is accused of raising money for the Taleban, and his MP, Sadiq Khan, was bugged on the orders of the Met Police. It has come to light the device was hidden in hollowed table in a visitation area. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. How to investigate your doctor
2008-02-01 11:19:00
Doctors command a lot of respect because people go to them in a moment of need, and their reputation of doing good often raises them on a pedestal beyond criticism and doubt. People just take them for granted. However, doctors are no angels and some have been known to carry bad records in the form of previous failings, sexual misdemeanours, and some do not even have adequate qualifications. Today, many people realize that it is quite easy for a burglar to steal your car or at least steal many of the possessions you leave in your car whether over night in your driveway or in the parking lot at the mall. There are many gadgets out there to deter thieves; however, a professional can disarm many of these items easily. There are a few different ways in which to fool fingerprint security system. This one will more than likely work with a few scanners, however, not every scanner is the same. With this method, you will be creating a fake fingerprint of the person that owns the security system you wish to break into such as a computer, mobile phone, etc… The problem is you must have access to their fingerprint, a digital camera, super glue, wood glue, a bottle cap, and glue that will not harm your skin.
