2007-10-09 14:01:00
A well known US aid worker, Judith Burdin Asuni, and two German journalists, Florian Alexander Opitz and Andy Lehmann, were captured and held on suspicion of espionage and terrorism. Jamming Spy Camera Transmitters
2007-10-08 10:39:00
I don’t need to tell you how common spy cameras are these days, and costing only £30 delivered on eBay, its no surprise! When it comes to transmitting spy cameras, because they use an RF signal, you can use a jammer to stop the receiver picking up the video signal. If you’ve got a spare $400, I’ve found a jammer that can swamp RF signals from spy cameras, Bluetooth devices and WiFi networks. Copyright © 2007 Spy Review. Spy Review - Looking back at August
2007-10-05 11:23:00
Wow the months are flying past at the moment! Here’s a review of all of the cool gadgets I reviewed in August . If you’ve got or seen a product you want to appear on Spy Review , then just drop me a note via the contact me page. Probably the most interesting product that I reviewed in August was the self-destructing paper. It looks like ordainary paper, but completely disintegrates when you pour water on it. Car Safe for Valuable and Laptop Computers
2007-10-03 10:08:00
As gadgets become more pervasive and cheaper to buy, the more likely we are to be carrying the gadgets around with us. Sometimes its just not convenient to have everything on our person, and so we can store valuables in the car. However, if the valuables can be seen, the risk of theft from the car is still high. That’s where Car Safe gadgets come in. Copyright © 2007 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Computer Engineers charged with spying
2007-10-02 10:22:00
Two computer engineers have been charged with conspiring to steal and sell microchip designs in California. The engineers were stealing computer chip designs from their employer Netlogics Microsystems. They are being charged with economic (commercial) espionage, and only 3 other people have ever been convicted of such a crime in the US. Each engineer has been charged with two counts of economic espionage, two counts of theft of trade secrets and one count of conspiracy. If convicted, they’ll each face a prison term of 15 years. Curiously, the previous economic espionage cases were also related to computer parts or software in Silicon Valley. Copyright © 2007 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Spy Camera hidden in a Cordless Phone
2007-09-21 10:30:00
Hidden cameras really are getting everywhere these days. However, I’m starting to see that they are making their way into more household gadgets, which makes them less detectable and more useful. This camera hidden in a cordless phone is a prime example of a camera that could be placed in plain sight, such as in a lounge or main living area. Copyright © 2007 Spy Review. Solar Powered Colour Wireless Security Camera
2007-09-12 10:14:00
If you care about the environment, but you also want to protect your property, then take a look at this solar powered wireless security camera. It has a large solar panel to recharge the internal battery during the day, but also comes with a backup power supply in case the battery runs out of power overnight. If you live in an area that gets plenty of sun light, then you have yourself a truly wireless system. The camera transmits on 2.4GHz on the standard channels, so you can receive it on any existing 2.4GHz receiver, or use the one provided in the kit. To conserve energy, the transmitter exploits a Passive Infra-red (PIR) motion detector, which will trigger the camera to start transmitting when motion is detected within 6 feet of the camera. The receiver will beep and flash an LED when a signal is being received. The actual length of time the camera transmits for is adjustable for 10, 20, 30 or 40 seconds. If the PIR sensor is still being triggered, then the camera will still tran...

Biometric Flash Drive
2007-08-27 11:04:00
USB Flash Drive s are fast becoming popular replacements for floppy disks these days. USB flash drives are faster, more reliable, larger in capacity and much easier to use. It’s often the case for a new PC to be sold without a floppy disk drive now too. A flash drive is very much a personal gadget, as you usually only have one and carry it around with you. If you have personal data on that flash drive, then it’s important to be able to protect that data. Where is where the Biometric Thumbprint USB Flash Drive comes in handy. Spy Review gets a new design!

You’ll notice that the design for Spy Review has changed! I’ve changed the layout of the site to make it easier to navigate around the site, and I’ve made the pages quicker to load too. You’ll also notice a new column on the far right of the site. This is to allow me to have advertisers supporting the site without the adverts getting in your way. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new design. If you have any more ideas, please let me know! Copyright © 2007 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Self-Destructing Spy Paper
2007-08-22 10:37:00
Remember the self-destructing messages in the Mission Impossible Films? Ok, since most of them exploded, you’re not going to be able to get hold of those. But how about self-destructing paper? The self-destructing paper looks like ordinary paper, and you can write on it as usual. However, when you need to dispose of the paper, you just need to get it wet! Simply running the paper under water or putting the paper into a glass of water will turn the paper into a soggy mess, completely destroying the message. The paper is available in a notepad or in standard sheets of paper. I can’t imagine many genuine uses for it, but it is very cool! You can find the Self destructing paper at PIMall.com. Earpiece Used to Cheat in Exams
2007-08-21 09:55:00
BBC News have recently reported that a Canadian company called Examear is targeting students with marketing to cheat in exams with a covert earpiece. The covert earpiece is designed to work with MP3 players and mobile phones. Since the devices are so small, it becomes exceptionally difficult for exam invigilators to detect them. I’ve reported on covert earpieces before, but this is the first time that I’ve seen earpieces targeted so directly at a market group. I remember how difficult exams were for me (it wasn’t that long ago I sat them), but cheating really does discredit the whole point of exams! Original news story on BBC News, and Examear. Keylogger Covertly Hidden in a Keyboard
2007-08-20 10:42:00
Have you ever wanted to know what your family member or employees are doing on the computer when you’re not around? What if you want to observe a really computer-savvy without them knowing? An experienced and paranoid computer user will probably spot an external keylogger very quickly. So why not use a keylogger that has been covertly hidden in a keyboard? External keyboard loggers plug into the back of the computer, and then the keyboard wire plugs into the keylogger. Looking at the picture above, the black object in the top circle is the keylogger device. The beige object in the bottom circle is the normal keyboard wire. Most computer users would not spot this, but any experienced PC user will spot this quickly, particularly those who are trying to hide their actions. The keylogger hidden in a keyboard defeats this issue, since the keylogger has been installed into the keyboard itself. Even the most experienced computer user would not be able to find the keylogger un...
