2008-06-10 11:33:00
Not so long ago before the internet, gang members hung out on the street corners and bragged about their exploits to other gang members and those they were trying to get to join the gang. Today, however, all the mischievous activities, crimes, and more are written up on social networking sights for all to see. Gang members seem to be proud of their activities and often make it it open by describing and commenting on social network sites off all types. (more…) Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Wouldn?t it be a lot more fun if they had a walking stick that also has a built in telescope? It sure would add more fun to taking a trip to the park and whiling away hours on a bench. Businesses Resorting to ?Spy? Gadgets
2008-05-27 23:01:00
Here is a very interesting article that suggests businesses of all sizes are resorting to using all sorts of surveillance technology to help with security of their busineses. This is very interesting because it was only until recently such gadgets were considered as toys for 'techies' and that they weren't much use beyond that, however, it seems there is a much more serious aspect to them. Stolen Computers Being Tracked to Thieves
2008-05-21 08:59:00
Here is a story about how stolen computers are being located using tarckers integrated into the bios of the computer motherboard. We know tracking systems have been used for cars to locate their wherabouts after being stolen with huge success, not a lot of people would know the same is being done with Laptops. The difference in the tracking here is probably more to do with the fact that, in this case, the tracker is not a physical product in the sense that its is attached to the computer. Paper That Erases Its Content
2008-05-08 21:35:00
Xerox?s Palo Alto Research Center recently introduced a new printer paper that's ideal for anyone wishing to leave no trace of something they have written or use the same paper over and over again, great for the environmentally conscious that wish to save trees. This unique printer paper is self-erasing! Yes, you heard right! Whatever is printed on the paper will virtually disappear in 24 hours. Xerox?s paper known as intelligent redaction paper is covered with an ultraviolet sensitive material, which means that the text printed onto the paper is placed there by light beams instead of ink toner. The light creates black spots on the paper to make the words appear, however, these spots disappear magically after a short 24 hours. No matter why you make need this type of reusable paper, it is an awesome idea. The paper itself can be used 100 times, which can really save a tree while also keeping your secrets from hanging around until you shred or burn the paper. After about 100 uses,...

For parents who are concerned about the possibility of their child being abducted and taken far away from home, this can certainly be a terrific feature as it would instantly inform the parent of the child’s whereabouts. Lipstick Stun Gun
2008-04-23 11:06:00
Knowing stun guns that look like weapons are likely to make women hesitant in carrying one, stun gun manufacturers have come up with the idea of making one look like a lipstick. Electric Lock Controller
2008-04-17 16:26:00
Alternative methods to opening your door or gate other than a typical key can be very useful. Utilizing an intercom system such as a Doorbell Fon can allow the individual at the intercom to dial directly to your phone line instead of an inside intercom. The Electric Lock Controller further adds to that system by enabling the phone to directly open the door or gate that you're Doorbell Fon is connected to by simply pressing the * key on your telephone. This device has plenty of potential to be used in the spy field, but wouldn't be as impromptu of a device as most tend to be. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. Anti GPS Tracker Device
2008-04-17 13:43:00
With the recent decrease in cost of global position devices (GPS), both monitoring units and tracking devices have become rather popular, so having the ability to disable all GPS trackers within a 2 metre radius can definitely come in handy. This GPS Tracker Defence from TrackerShack was made to do exactly that. The device is plugged directly into the power socket of your car, and after one minute it will disable any GPS trackers within 2 metres. This device would be perfect for a smaller vehicle or a vehicle with its power socket in between the seats rather than in the front, as 2 metres isn’t always the full length of a vehicle. Hardwired Covert Video Wall Clock
2008-04-16 10:49:00
Once you've decided on monitoring a room through video surveillance, it's always difficult to determine what you're going to use to accomplish the task. The biggest question that you have to ask yourself is ?Can I hide a camera in anything currently in the room??. While the answer to this question is sometimes yes, the risk of it not being hidden well enough may be to great a risk to take. With the surveillance industry offering plenty of common house hold items already equipped with video cameras, there is one item that fits in nearly any room, a wall clock. CCTVMobile: Video Surveillance Directly to Your Mobile Phone
2008-04-14 01:02:00
Video surveillance systems such as Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) can be a powerful resource to have at your disposal. The ability to fully monitor and record a designated area through a series of cameras and a control system can provide you with a significant amount of flexibility. That is of course, if you are able to get in front of the monitoring unit to view what's happening live or have the time spend viewing the recordings that your CCTV has made. More advanced CCTV systems allow the user to either log in through their computer and view the live video or recordings. While this is definitely an improvement, accessing a WiFi point or using a mobile network to connect with your laptop is not exactly the most discrete option available. Plus, you'll still have to dedicate the same amount of time to monitoring it or reviewing the video. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Surveillance: Local Authorities in UK Spying on Residents
2008-04-12 22:53:00
It seems having CCTV cameras popping up on every street corner is not enough, now councils are being granted permission to spy on people at the individual level. They are being given permission, upon approval, to spy on residents who they believe are causing them problems. The local authorities involved are taking advantage of legislation that allows, at least in some cases, for individuals and households to be monitored over what seems pretty trivial issues such as whether dog owners are picking up waste. They are using a variety of techniques such as spy cameras and binoculars, depending on the situation. Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Low Cost Mobile Phone Eavesdropping Device a Reality?
2008-04-10 00:54:00
Researchers in the US claim to be able to develop a device that is able to eavesdrop on mobile phone conversations by hacking into GSM networks, for a cost of mere $1,000. Previous attempts to develop such a device have cost upwards of $100,000. The 64-bit A5/1 Network Encryption used on GSM networks has been cracked for almost a decade now, but after the developments that occurred at this year’s 2008 Black Hat Conference in Washington D.C., the technology is that much closer to being developed.
