iPhone Accessory - iControlPad will add physical buttons and joypad to the
2008-05-25 21:48:00
We have seen some interesting native games for the iPhone such as Raging Thunder that have taken advantage of iPhone's accelerometer and can expect games like Doom and Quake 3 to be ported to the iPhone soon. Though all that is exciting news for iPhone users, I prefer the physical controls that are available in portable gaming consoles like Sony's PSP rather than using iPhone's touchscreen and the accelerometer. Some enterprising folks seem to agree and are currently developing an iPhone accessory called iControlpad which is expected to be released soon will add physical buttons and joypad to the iPhone.

iPhone Buzz week in review
2008-05-25 20:28:00
It has been an interesting week. This week has not been as fast paced for rumors as usual, as it seems that things have slowed down, as people are now waiting it silence for June 9th. Though the rumors are not much in volume, they more than make up for it in how interesting they are. A freight of ocean containers arrived on shore this week. The containers are from Apple’s manufacturing partners across the seas. The containers were marked ‘electric computer’. Apple’s Macs are traditionally market with the customs label ‘desktop computer’. The rumor is these containers have over 1.7 million 3G iPhones in them. Since everyone else is guessing, I threw in mine as well. I think that ‘electric computer’ sounds a lot more like a Mac tablet than an iPhone, just me? We all know that the 3G iPhone will be fast, thanks to the HSPA networks set up across the world. We don’t know how fast though. How does 42mbps down and 22mbps up sound? Th...

Smartphones: Simplicity vs. Functionality
2008-05-25 11:19:00
There is a lot to be said about the ease of use of smartphones. For instance, did you know that, according to a survey by Opinion Research Corporation, the single most returned gifts are non-blackberry, non-iPhone smartphones, due to the recipient's inability to figure out how to use all the features? Then again, people are always asking for more, not less. Where is the compromise?

Apple may announce a 12 or 13-inch tablet in the fall of this year according to the Apple Core Blog.Jason D. O'Grady, writing for ZDNet, has been informed that Apple will announce a 12 or 13-inch tablet in the fall of this year. Most likely in the September or October time frame. He was told the tablet will run the full Mac OS X and have a slot loading SuperDrive, an “iPhone-type” GPS chip and an Intel Core Duo processor, presumably Intel’s Atom.O'Grady says his "birdy" has been reliable in the past so he is optimistic about the rumor but nothing is for sure.Read More(NOTE*: This is a mockup! New 3G iPhone Already in USA, Canada?
2008-05-25 03:47:00
Since mid-March, Apple Inc. and its logistics partners have imported 188 ocean containers of a product type never before declared on its shipping manifests, reports ImportGenius.com.By analyzing thousands of U.S. customs records for Apple Computer, employees of the search engine for container shipment data identified a major spike in imports generated by a new product type.“They have never before reported this product on their customs declarations,” says Ryan Petersen of ImportGenius.com. “The fact that they are importing millions of units, combined with dwindling stocks of the first generation of iPhones, clearly supports the Citi analysts predictions.”On March 19 Quanta delivered 20 ocean containers of merchandise, described on the Bills of Lading as “electric computers,” to Apple, Inc. Neither Apple, Quanta, nor any other company has ever used this product description for any shipments to the U.S. The advanced features of the iPhone make it perfectly legitimate for Ap...

2008-05-25 03:44:00
Telstra CEO, Sol Trujillo, has announced that network speeds will be super-charged to 21 Mbps in 2008, with further plans to double the figure to 42Mbps sometime in 2009.Currently, next G customers are able to achieve speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.“We have an evolution roadmap with Ericsson which will deliver customers speeds of 21 Mbps in 2008 across our national Next G network - a world first - and 42 Mbps in 2009 using HSPA+ technology. Our partnership with Ericsson continues to break the speed barrier,” Trujillo said.An anonymous official has told ChannelNews that the phone will "by Xmas" support the planned upgrade to the advanced HSPA+ wireless standard on Telstra's 3G network. This will help drive sales since network speeds will be faster than many fixed-line broadband services, the executive asserts.AT&T's mobility chief Ralph de la Vega has said that their company's HSPA network will be improved from the theoretical peak downloads of 3.6 megabits per second to about ...

With a feature set roughly similar to QuickTime Pro, SimpleMovieX extends editing capabilities to other popular video formats AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. It also brings a significant speed increase to editing and chapter tasks.Powerful editing operations like splitting a movie into clips, a Batch Converter, an Audio Waveform tool to make sharp audio editing and synchronization, are among most appreciated features of version 3. Apparently Goldman Sachs doesn't care about rumors about rumors, because AAPL has just been added to Goldman Sachs Americas conviction buy list. Rumor Of 3G iPhone Delay Rumor Makes AAPL Slide
2008-05-23 21:19:00
Apple's stock stumbled a bit yesterday afternoon when "rumors of a rumor" of a possible delay of Apple's 3G iPhone hit the web. As of yet, the rumors are extremely vague (and difficult to find, I might add). No evidence supporting this has been presented. Meanwhile, Reuters reports that the AAPL's instability is the result of uncertainty of the new iPhone's price by those involved.
