VocalTech On A New Course
2008-02-08 20:30:00
It looks like VocalTech needs a little boost as it has received NASDAQ Staff Deficiency Letter on February 5th, 2008. The Staff Deficiency Letter indicates that VocalTec had failed to meet the terms of Nasdaq, with the minimum bid price requirement for continued listing set forth in Marketplace Rule 4320(e)(2)(E)(ii). The letter says that the company has until August 4, 2008 to regain compliance. Compliance will be regained if during the period ending on August 4, 2008 the bid price of the Company's shares closes at $1.00 per share or more for a minimum of 10 consecutive business days.VocalTech is exploring different avenues to remedy the situation and the following news release, mentiones that over 50 telecom service providers and partners have deployed VocalTec’s Essentra™ VoIP solutions on the IBM System x server platform. This certainly should boost the morale as well as the stock price."We are very pleased that the telecommunications community is reco...

Google Phone (GPhone) Second Coming!
2008-02-06 21:36:00
I know I had a good run with "Google Phone coming soon" but now I found another article about a new face of the gPhone. Let me correct myself, many faces of many gPhones! As the said article mentioned, the best way to go and find what gPhone will look like is to look into the work by the independent developers who are playing around with the Android SDK and Open Handset Alliance. There will be many different GPhones, developed by many companies and I am sure they will operate on the upcoming "open" spectrum block that the auction is being held now.tag: Google Phone , gPhone, android, open handset alliance, Android SDK, "open" spectrumCopyright © 2005-2008 SnapVoip, Published by snapvoip.blogspot.com. FCC Wireless Spectrum Auction Nearing The End.

Spectrum auction is almost over and according to an article on Forbes, Google might be out of the wireless tangle, after having achieved what it wanted, an "Open" Broadband network. The bids are kept under seal but the analysts who knows the market and the players have already marked out the winners and players and who ever trail the auctions. On Google's side of the auction involvement was viewed as ;"Analysts speculated that Google likely bid $4.6 billion for the C block. Under FCC rules, a $4.6 billion bid would ensure the creation of a broadband network "open" to any devices or application. Industry watchers speculated that Google, which lobbied the FCC to adopt open access rules for the auction, was participating in the auction out of a sense of duty rather than a desire to win."Whatever the case, we really need to thank Google for the "Open" wireless spectrum for it's work on the issue. Verizon took FCC to court over the same issue, trying to prevent an "Open" network. So all t...

2008-01-31 18:32:00
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A bidder on Thursday offered $4.71 billion for a key slice of wireless airwaves being sold by the U.S. government, triggering a condition that the spectrum be accessible to any device or software application. After 17 auction rounds, the bidding for the "C" block of 700 megahertz spectrum surpassed a $4.64 billion minimum set by the Federal Communications Commission. As a result, the winner of the airwaves will have to abide by the open-access conditions, which had been sought by Internet search engine Google Inc and adopted by the FCC before the auction. The bidders' identities are being kept secret, under FCC rules, until the entire auction ends. However, analysts have said the most likely bidders for the C block airwaves are Verizon Wireless and Google.More at Reuters.tag: open-access conditions, 700 megahertz spectrum, Verizon Wireless, Google, FCC Auction, "C" block auctionCopyright © 2005-2008 SnapVoip, Published by snapvoip.blo...
