LiPS ( The Linux Phone Standards) gets closer to your lips with standard fo
2007-12-09 04:41:00 What ever Google did with Google Phone and subsequent Android and OHA seem to have shaken the communication world a bit. Just like the Google's interest in wireless spectrum bid did make wireless providers run for court rooms and open spaces, like Verizon and AT&T.The Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) Forum, which is 2 year old now and unlike industry groups such as the OHA and LiMo (Linux Mobile Foundation), which are writing actual code for cross-licensing among members, LiPS has taken on the ambitious goal of defining real standards, but was dormat for a while, I was wondering at one time if they were dead. No I think the it is very alive now!.LiPS Executive Director Bill Weinberg explains, "Our goal is to create a freestanding, actual specification that exists as a real standard, and is not beholden to any one implementation."Weinberg admits that the challenge is in moving from paper standards to real implementations and then to widespread adoption. 2007-12-08 18:35:00 iPhone Elite team has released UNLOCK FOR Baseband 4.02.13_G for iPhone 1.0.2, 1.1.1, or 1.1.2 jailbroken systems. But there is more to it than just down loading and running it.The only way your baseband will be 4.02.13_G while you're running 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 is if you updated then downgraded firmware If you choose to run this on a jailbroken 1.1.2 system, you must be in Airplane Mode first. This is very important, because otherwise you will probably get stuck with a restore screen. If you forget this Airplane Mode step in 1.1.2 and do end up with a restore screen, don't panic -- so far every single predicament you can get yourself into with software unlock steps can be fixed via normal FW restore or the DFU restore. If your iPhone came with 4.02.13_G (aka 1.1.2) OUT OF THE BOX then do NOT use this unlock yet. It hasn't been tested with bootloaders other than BOOT03.09_M3S2 Very new iPhones (and all U.K. iPhones) come out of the box with BOOT04.06_M3S2. If you're in doubt, chec... Give Quality Of Service (QoS) To Your VoIP or Any Other Important Internet
More articles from this author:2007-12-03 22:02:00 PC World tells you, home users, SOHO or SMBs to improve the QOS of your internet connection to aid you with your VoIP communications. The best part is that you may already have the hardware, a router, needed for this operation. (If your router is dated make sure that you have the latest firmware from the vendor loaded.) The article uses LINKSYS router for illustration but most modern routers has the QoS built in to them. So better start using it. The person at the end of the line might begin to understand you. Mine did not, even with expensive routers switches and IP PBXs. It is nothing to do with QoS or Networks. It is my accent, by living all over the world I have picked up accents from many a countries and it make hard for me to express myself properly to other people vocally.
