N3SP and Heart of Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust have signed a landmark contract to deploy hosted Internet Protocol (IP) telephony services across the N3 network. Heart of Birmingham Teaching Primary Care Trust is one of the first NHS organisations to sign up to the new N3 Hosted Voice Service, following a major upgrade of the N3 Network enabling it to carry phone calls using voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology. The deal initially includes 280 centrally managed IP telephony handsets from network solutions company, Cisco, removing the need for on-site voice switches and equipment. Security Issue One* This is a SQL injection vulnerability in the res_config_pgsql module. Default installations of Asterisk are not affected. However, any system using the Postgres Realtime Engine may be remotely exploitable. This issue only affects Asterisk 1.4, as this module was not in Asterisk 1.2. Security Issue Two* This is another SQL injection vulnerability. The input for the ANI and DNIS fields were not properly escaped. Default installations of Asterisk are not vulnerable. A German court has decided to grant T-Mobile exclusive rights to sell the iPhone in Germany , overturning a temporary injunction granted against the operator two weeks ago.Vodafone won a temporary injunction against T-Mobile, forcing it to start selling unlocked iPhones. T-Mobile did so, but at a price of $1,460. The price of an iPhone on a 24-month contract at T-Mobile Germany is $582. Now that the injunction has been overturned by the Regional Court of Hamburg, T-Mobile has stopped selling unlocked iPhones. But According to T-Mobile, they have already sold a quite a bit of unlocked iPhones at this higher price.Unlocked iPhones can still be bought in France, as competition laws in France have forced Orange, the winner of the iPhone exclusivity rights for France, to open up the handset to users of other networks.This is good news for Apple and T-Mobile, both has profits based on exclusivity. PC World tells you, home users, SOHO or SMBs to improve the QOS of your internet connection to aid you with your VoIP communications. The best part is that you may already have the hardware, a router, needed for this operation. (If your router is dated make sure that you have the latest firmware from the vendor loaded.) The article uses LINKSYS router for illustration but most modern routers has the QoS built in to them. So better start using it. The person at the end of the line might begin to understand you. Mine did not, even with expensive routers switches and IP PBXs. It is nothing to do with QoS or Networks. It is my accent, by living all over the world I have picked up accents from many a countries and it make hard for me to express myself properly to other people vocally.
