Linuxwochen Eisenstadt 2008
2008-04-29 11:42:00 On Mai the 30th & 31st the Austrian “Linuxwochen” will again hit my former university in Eisenstadt. Look ahead for some very interesting talks by several highly skilled people. One event I’d especially like to draw your attention to is Oliver’s pice about “Linux Server Experience with VServer” on Fr. the 30th. at 17:15 hours. I’d be happy (and I’m sure, Olli even more) to see a lot of people attending this great event, listening to the talks held there and discuss open source solutions with us Related PostsInstalling eAccelerator on Debian (2)Running A File, Print, Proxy, DHCP, AND Time Server For Small Enterprises (0)Ubuntu countdown (1)MySecureShell - chrooted SFTP server (1)Log4Twitter (1) More About: 2008
/dev/null in C#
2008-04-23 14:55:00 If you need to direct output into the void in your program on a *NIX system you simply pipe or redirect it to the null device /dev/null. Needing a similar functionality today in a C# .NET project I found the following equivalent: Stream.Null Seemed fairly useful to me Related PostsHow to annoy your fellow co-workers through creative use ...
XSLT: convert ISO 8601 DateTime format
2008-04-10 16:26:00 Today I did a little bit of XSLT coding and stumbled over the problem to convert ISO 8601 date strings into a more human readable format. Specifically I wanted to turn a date of the form 2008-04-10T16:12:27Z to the typical german format of 10.04.2008 16:12:27 and spit the whole thing out as HTML to display it ... Dear Mr. Sony Ericsson - What about iSync? (U0UtaVN5bmMh)
2008-01-28 13:12:00 Back in 2007 Nokia started releasing iSync plugins. Also back in 2007 I read a similar Sony Ericsson announcment. The slight difference: Nokia iSync plugins actually exist. As every project needs a kick-off… here it is. There is a great tool called iSync Plug-In Maker (it’s included in the Apple Developer Tools) Apple already has many Sony Ericsson plugins ... Thought for today
2007-11-22 09:32:00 “All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.” - by Bill Hicks …quite entertaining to contemplate that this could be true. Gmail invades Apple Mail
2007-11-20 11:32:00 Today while playing around with the new Apple Mail ’s IMAP IDLE feature (which still doesn’t quit work I think) I discovered an interesting bit in the Preferences window.
