"Two-Way Sliding Mobile Terminal" From Sony Ericsson
2007-11-28 09:28:00
A while ago, Sony Ericsson has patented Dual-Sliding technology. It features a full-QWERTY keyboard layout as well as a numeric keypad.FYI, Dual-Sliding mechanism is not a novelty and has already been used by several manufacturers, like Pantech (PN-810; C810), Samsung (SGH-F520) ...For me, it's quite dexterous and would be great if Sony Ericsson could implement this concept into its devices in the nearest future. If we look at Sony Ericsson's last innovations and patented technologies, they are preparing something really good, or at least I hope so :)Abstract from their patent application:A mobile terminal that allows sliding between housing in two directions. The housing may be for PDA use with and alphanumeric keypad exposed and another position may be for phone use with a numeric keypad exposed. One housing may include pins that extend from one surface and another housing may include grooves in an opposing surface to receive the pins. At least one longitudinal groove may be pro...

Sony Ericsson P3i and M610 Show Up
2007-11-26 11:53:00
One of the most awaited smart phones from Sony Ericsson has been spotted on the Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger Chinese site. The device is listed under Sony Ericsson manufacturer and if you chose "索爱" (Sony Ericsson) under "我的手机品牌" (My cell phone brand) and P3i under "我的手机型号" (My cell phone model), except of the strange listing of a non existing phone, you can also see a little thumbnail of the device branded as Walkman. The same picture of the Sony Ericsson P3i has already been shown on our Blog, but only as a concept of the device. In spite of this listing, I still think that it's just a concept or a fake phone nothing more.Besides of the Sony Ericsson P3, you can also see M610 (which is not yet released either) with housing almost identical to that of Sony Ericsson P1i (only the colors are different).I think that, those listings is a mistake or carelessness of the webmaster or the person who added these phones and nothing more :)

Catch The File – New Technology From Sony Ericsson
2007-11-23 12:11:00
What do we have to do to send a file via Bluetooth from one handset to another?First, we need to select the file. Then we need to go to a menu where we must chose a sending method (IR or Bluetooth), after this the sender device must search for a Bluetooth enabled handset and once the destination device is selected, we must wait for an approval from the recipient and after all these actions the file will be sent. And what does Sony Ericsson offer with its new technology? We need to touch a file which we want to send and drug it to the direction of the recipient and wait for a confirmation, that’s all! With it we can simply drug and drop file from one device to another. For me it sounds a little bit fantastic, but the fact is that the manufacturer already patented this innovation, which means that soon we will be able to acquire this possibility along with the new phone models (Maybe even with Sony Ericsson P5i? Who knows)

Good Bye Opera Mini 3 and Hello Opera Mini 4
2007-11-21 08:50:00
At last Opera Mini 4 has been released, which means we can delete old Opera Mini and enjoy faster, more secure and safer browsing with the new Opera Mini 4.The new version delivers several new improvements, like:Landscape mode, virtual mouse, enhanced small screen rendering, quick browsing keystrokes, suggested start points, power scrolling shortcuts (via 4, 6, 2, 8 keypad buttons), creation own web search from any search field on the Internet, synchronization of the mobile phone web links with the web links on computer, CSS support and of course faster browsing possibility with less data transfer. In my opinion Opera Mini is the best Java browser and of course it is still free, so you can go to the official site of the Opera Mini 4, download it and start enjoying all those improvements and new functionality.

Problems with Sony Ericsson W910 - Faulty of the First Shipment
2007-11-16 13:41:00
Not so long ago Sony Ericsson released its new device in Walkman line - Sony Ericsson W910, a great phone with powerful audio functionality.Shipment of the device has been started recently, however brand new W910 was taken off the market after a great number of devices turned out to be defective. It turned out that all W910, which belonged to the first batch had the same problems: after 10 seconds of work, handset would automatically switch off and cease to respond to incoming calls.Instead of those handsets, Orange offered new mobile phones, but the problem didn't resolve, as many of them returned just a few days later to complain that the new device had the same problems. This situation has resulted that Orange has withdrawn all the phones from market.According to Sony Ericsson, the problem has been solved, so if you still would like to buy this really great device, you may do so with no worries.

Sony Ericsson on Future of Mobiles
2007-11-13 10:04:00
64 Gbyte of memory, camera with auto focus. And many more radio standards supported. In addition, all features must be easy to use. Those are some of the things to expect from the mobile phone, within a couple of years, according to Bengt Stavenow at Sony Ericsson , speaker at the Mobile Future conference in Stockholm today.- You will never see a Sony Ericsson phone lacking focus on cost, battery time and size. If we get the question why feature X is not yet in the mobile, the answer is probably that it is not compatible with one of these three. The mobile should be like a Swiss army knife, but nothing gets in if it does not fulfil those three requirements, said Bengt Stavenow from Sony Ericsson when speaking at the Mobile Future conference in Stockholm.Luckily all electronics get cheaper, smaller and less energy consuming, so mobiles do get more and more functions. Which ones can we expect the coming years?- Soon we will see mobile phone with triband 3G, in addition to quadband GSM ...

2007-11-13 08:02:00
As you might know in a recent article about Sony Ericsson P5, I was saying that:Rumors started to appear on the Internet about Sony Ericsson’s new handset from smart series. It says that the new device will be announced on November 15 and it will be named as Sony Ericsson P5.And according on to these rumors, we were waiting for new announcements on the 15th of November. Sony Ericsson was supposed to have announced at least three new handsets (Including Sony Ericsson P5) and the announcement was supposed to be truly revolutionary, but according to one of our friend blog - The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog, there won't be any announcements on November 15 and not even in this year. The official confirmation:- Thanks for the additional information, but I’ve done a search and can confirm that we have no plans to make any new product announcement in November. What we announced last week, on the 6th, is the last product announcement we’ll be making this year. All Sony Ericsson produc...

Sony Ericsson P5
2007-11-08 14:57:00
Rumors started to appear on the Internet about Sony Ericsson ’s new handset from smart series. It says that the new device will be announced on November 15 and it will be named as Sony Ericsson P5 (Not Sony Ericsson P3, as we expected). It will be equipped with a huge touch-screen display, GPS module, Wi-FI, 5mp camera, new version of UIQ and what is the most important with have a powerful CPU.For me, that's fantastic information (As I already said, I'm waiting for the next phone from P line impatiently) and I hear about this phone from more and more sources. It’s a bit pity that it’s only a rumor, though. As we have seen a couple of times, the rumors have just remained rumors. For example, not a long ago there were all kind of rumors that on November 6 something really revolutionary would be be announced. However, as we already know, there wasn't anything like P3 or revolutionary presented, not even a new smart-phone, only some ordinary phones. So let's wait for November 1...

But as I learnt, on November 15 Sony Ericsson will make another announcements and I hope they justify my hopes. So let's get back to our novelties. What we can say about those phones? I think official detailed information would be more interesting for you :)Here we go (Official press release): The new Sony Ericsson K660 packs landscape Web browsing and dedicated shortcut keys into a cl...

November 6 - The Announcement Day
2007-11-05 16:09:00
Tomorrow is a big day for Sony Ericsson and Sony Ericsson fans. Tomorrow, on November 6, Sony Ericsson is going to announce its new devices. For now, we can say nothing for sure about upcoming phones, but eventually we will see what Sony Ericsson has to offer. We can suppose that Sony Ericsson is going to announce at least one device from the W line, one from the K line and one smartphone device (from P or maybe from M line). We can suppose that Walkman is going to be the one that was leaked not a long ago (I mean W890, I wrote a couple of articles about this phone). From the K line we can suppose that it going to be K660i (Pictures of the phone were spotted on the official (UK) site of Sony Ericsson. You can see those pictures at at bottom of this article) and from smartphones - I hope that it is going to be Sony Ericsson P3. There is also a good chance that this phone may be M610, successor of M600 (We were talking about this phone a couple days ago.)That’s all what I can say for...

Sony Ericsson W200i in SIX colors
2007-10-30 10:05:00
It looks like that Sony Ericsson has decided to give more choice for low-end Walkman users and from now on Sony Ericsson W200i will be available in four new color options. Along with Rhythm Black and White Pulse, Sony Ericsson W200i is now available in: Grey, Sweet Pink, Aquatic White and Mono Blue. It means that low-end W200i will be available in six colors, what is very rare for a manufacturer. In my opinion, the device is pretty cool. Like other phones from the Walkman line, W200i offers great quality stereo music. Internal storage of the device is only 27MB, but with extended storage - Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™), you can increase it up to 2GB. W200 supports HTML browsing, a 0.3MP VGA camera with 4x digital zoom and 3D gaming. It’s equipped with RDS FM stereo radio and supports Adobe® Flash Lite™ 1.1 and in addition from now on it’s available in 6 colors…I Think it’s a great choice for budget limited users.New Colors :

Maybe it was surprise for you to see an article with a subject like this on a blog dedicated to Sony Ericsson, but please give me a moment and I will explain everything.A Couple days ago, I wrote a post about clones of the Sony Ericsson's devices. Article was about CECT - a well-known Chinese device cloning company. Oh, did I say company? I mean a bureau. As we know it is a little bureau with rich cloning experience, but what about other and bigger companies? Did I say bigger? What about a GIANT company, which owns the largest market share and is a direct competitor of Sony Ericsson??? Yep, I mean NOKIA...A while ago information about NOKIA's new device Nokia N82 appeared in the Internet. Leaked pictures of the phone have followed quickly. The features of the device are really impressive: 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, auto-focus, up to 20 x digital zoom, Xenon flash, quad band GSM, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, Symbian based, e.t.c. Sony Ericsson PXi

Not long ago, a picture of Sony Ericsson ’s new device has hit the Internet. On the picture, we can see that device is named PXi... What is that? Is this a new prototype of the new device? Or is it just a concept, really nice work made by another amateur designer? Or maybe it’s another concept or even a prototype of the long awaited Sony Ericsson P3??? I dare to ask that because as we know, same thing was with the latest SE smartphone Sony Ericsson P1, in early appearance, the device was wearing another name – Sony Ericsson P700… I don’t know what is that, but the fact is that I really like it, really nice design with huge screen…So what we can say about it, it’s equipped with huge display, maybe 3.3 inch and it’s obvious a touch screen. I can also see a little front camera and that means that device supports 3G. I also can see red jogdial button on the right side of the device and housing reminding Sony Ericsson P1i. According to the serial name P, the device is smar...

Yet Another CECT Clone. C2000+ VS. W660i
2007-10-11 15:36:00
Today I want to present you with another Sony Ericsson clone from already well-known Chinese device cloning company CECT - CECT C2000+. This time, the device is cloned from Walkman series – W660i. Frankly, I don’t understand why those guys from CECT steal designs from other devices. There are so many talented designers out there who can make much better housing… Well OK, lets say that making a cool design costs money and they are saving those hard earned bucks, but there are so many cool concepts on the Internet made by amateur designers, it would take less then fifteen minutes to search for those concepts. I noted that because, in my opinion, those designers will be just happy if somebody turns those ideas and concepts into reality.Anyway, as I've already said, design of CECT C2000+ is totally cloned from Sony Ericsson W660i and carries name SongLive. It is also equipped with a 2.4 inch, 240x320 touch sensitive display, 2MP camera and supports microSD memory format. Source
